    According to a reliable source, the 076 will have two catapults (presumably shorter than the ones on the 003 carrier), 2-3 main elevators with one in the mid-deck and at least 2 weapons elevator.

    Powering ahead. A good deterrent against American attack. The threat of attack will not end until China is at least on with the Americans on military hardware in number, weight and technology. However as it is the Americans can't and won't fight or start a war againt a heavyweight like China. That time has passed for China to be regarded as for sure win like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
    The Indians, if want to build like the Chinese need to make an enemy out of USA to gain the kind of persistency the Chinese have. Playing both sides is collapsing the Indian's resolve to even come close to China. Motivation is a great force. Playing a cowardly game generate little motivation.
    Well done China.

      Chinese military doctrine is based around asymmetrical warfare, so they don't seek 'parity'. China won't be fighting WW2-type naval battles carrier vs carrier and cruiser vs cruiser. Instead, China seeks to leapfrog the USA via rocket artillery, hypersonic missiles, drones, and other long range kill chains. Given American history, it's very likely they use a false flag operation to force Taiwan and/or India into proxy war against China.

    • @ZweiZwolf
      @ZweiZwolf 5 місяців тому +6

      @@tvgerbil1984 India shouldn't have tried to take land from China in 1962. India thought China was weak, but was comprehensively defeated by China. China opened the door to Delhi, and could have inflicted MASSIVE damage had they so desired.
      China should be taking a LOT more land every time they have to push India back, to create deeper DMZs so that India cannot attack China. If China were India, China would have driven the border all of the way to the base of the Himalayas. India should be thankful for Chinese generosity and patience. India should beg for Chinese forgiveness.

    They need at least 20 LHDs to increase capabilities, then afterwards more carriers. Train on the LHds first VTOL planes.

    • @gumpyoldbugger6944
      @gumpyoldbugger6944 5 місяців тому +4

      At their current rate of production, they should be able to produce that fleet of LHD's in very short order. They have three (3) Type 75's in service , one (1) completeing construction now and one (1), a suspected Type 76 with increased capacities under construction.
      The first Type 75 was launched in 2019 and its design worrk started in 2011. So eight years for start of design to completion of the first hull......that is a very fast turn around. If they allocate a couple more ship yards to their production, they could have those 20 LDH's within 10 or so years. And for build a naval fleet that fast would be impressive.

      Why? Taiwan is 100 miles from China, so they can just fly helos directly from the mainland without needing an expensive LHD. China's money is better spent on submarines and arsenal ships.

      The PLA has been modifying large roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) ferries, with new stern ramps enabling in-water operations to launch and recover amphibious combat vehicles. RO-RO ferries could deliver significant volumes of forces across the Taiwan Strait.

    I think it is too risky to only have 1 catapult even if it is an amphibious assault ship. If the only one catapult is knocked out, then it will literally be unable to launch any of its most powerful aircraft.

    • @Ecnop9

      recruitment isn’t exactly an issue for PLA even though PLA is supposed to be a conscription army, for the entirety of its existence it has been entirely voluntary. Of course training the crew to be proficient will take time since PLA is new to Carrier ops but they do things incrementally so you can assume these new ships are mostly training ship for future carriers much like 001 Liaoning.
