This video is for the driveway traders out there looking to tidy up the wheels without the big cost.
This is not a complete wheel refurbishment, but a way of making the car look more saleable for less than £10 and 45 minutes of your time.

It’s quicker to use large playing cards from pound shop pushed around the wheel rim

This is great, keep doing wheels like this! Meanwhile I put in 1 or 2 more hours and my wheels look brand new and actually raises the value of the car! lol

Depends on the car, if it's a cheap car in high demand then why take the time and effort when it won't add much value.

@@Stevesautos Rubbish, clean and good looking wheels will always add value.
You are leaving money on the table for some reason.
It's smarter to leave them alone then, because you just revealed these wheels have been spray painted in a lazy manner to make the car look better, buyers with options will be scared away.

@@bounzig It isn't smarter to leave them alone as they were already badly painted black by the previous owner, my options were to fully strip and refurbish them or give them a good coat of paint to tidy up a cheap car, every vehicle has a ceiling price where you have to stop spending, if you go over that price then you eat away at the profit, the expectations of someone buying a cheap car is very different to someone paying £15 grand for a car.
That isn't leaving money on the table, that is just good business, buyers with a budget under £2000 aren't scared away when buying a tidy car.
When you understand that my friend, you will understand the motor trade.

@@bounzig also, the very first thing I say in the video is "DO NOT PUT IN THE COMMENTS THAT I SHOULD SPEND ALL THIS TIME AND MONEY ON THEM, THESE ARE CHEEPY CARS AND I'M NOT GOING FOR A FULL REFURBISHMENT ON WHEELS LIKE THIS". missed that bit eh.

I didn't mask the rest of the car and didn't want over spray, it did the job on a budget.

mate as a profession alloy wheel refurbishment company that can do both paint and powder coating wheel refurbs that job you done on it was absolutely awful my eyes were bleeding watching this, sorry to be negative about it

    • @Stevesautos
      @Stevesautos  6 місяців тому +1

You can be as negative as you like, you clearly didn't listen to a word I said. I'm not an alloy wheel professional and I don't claim to be, this was a budget car with very little profit in it, having them professionally done would have cost money and added no value what so ever to the vehicle in this price band, I was covering up shoddy work that someone else had done to make the car presentable for a quick sale at a budget price.
On higher end cars I use guys like you literally all the time.

@@Stevesautos oh I listened alright and I will point out a bodged job regardless of how little profit is in a car sale, those wheels could of been made to look like new for £30 material costs had you took the time to research how to do wheels properly.
I recommend looking up this youtube channel " CVR POV " which will show you how to do a decent job on spraying wheels for very little money and doing other stuff to car bodywork which would come in handy if you are selling cars.
Probably cost £30 in materials to do a proper job once you spent a little bit of time practicing.
Also never spray wheels while on the car makes the faces look new but behind the spokes still look like crap highly noticeable.
Spraying the faces while wheel is off the car the paint flicks down the inside barrel giving the clean appearance behind the spokes

@@glitchtheory6609 you listened alright yet one of the first things I said was don't put a comment saying I'm doing this wrong, yet here we are.
For someone in the motor industry you clearly don't understand the key element, expectations, you're talking about taking each wheel off and spending £30 - £40 on materials, which is too much cost in labour and materials for a quick flip that went out just above trade value to a guy that wanted it to drive to work and park it in a steel works car park all day.
I understand you are a professional, but that isn't what I was going for, you need to manage the expectations of the buyer and for a car that cheap the expectations are very low for the price they paid.
The only person that wasn't happy about this whole thing is you, and you are neither the buyer or the seller.
Listen to what we were trying to achieve before making a comment, this channel is about quick flips for cheap cars, not restoring everything to forecourt display.
