Randy seems so uncomfortable standing there. Don't know why, he played a huge part in the history of the brilliant Eagles. Love you Randy. X. Congratulations to all the Eagles. 👏👏👏
Henley & Frey really made asses of themselves toward Randy & Bernie backstage. From what I've read, they all but told them they were lice for leaving the band. IF I was them, I'd feel a bit weird being onstage with them too.
Randy was told to stand at the extreme end of the stage, far away from Frey, and that he would be holding a guitar but the guitar would be unplugged. They told Bernie to stand at the opposite end of the stage but I don't think they told Bernie that his guitar would be unplugged. In 'Take It Easy' at one point Bernie looked puzzled, then walked up to the sound equipment and then glared at Frey. But Bernie and Randy turned the tables: In 'Hotel California', Bernie coaxed Randy to come and stand centre stage with him, behind Frey (of which Frey was unaware, so wrapped up in his own greatness!) The two of them (Randy and Bernie) stood there with unplugged instruments, making as if they were also playing in the band - quite rightfully so! I think when Frey found out, he was sooo mad, and during the song when Henley saw what Bernie and Randy had done he was not amused. No wonder that immediately after the show, everybody except Randy split up and went their separate ways, with Randy joining the other inducted musician to celebrate at the bar!
@@ingfig1 Gee, it's a small miracle Frey & Henley even "allowed" Randy Meisner onstage with them. It's easy to see why they chose to call their tour "When Hell Freezes Over" !
I'm glad Henley thanked Jackson Browne. The Eagles might not have existed without him. Jackson wrote the first part of Take It Easy, the Eagles's first song ever. He couldn't finish it and let Glenn Frey take a crack at it, and the Eagles were born.
@LilyRose89 that’s absolutely not how the Eagles were born! But, yeah, JB did write most of Take It Easy. He has his own version of the song on his own album and it’s nice but far more... hmmm... whimsical maybe? I do t think it’s a patch on the Eagles’ version, either album one in the country rock style or the later concert stuff which leans more on the rock.
I just can't step away from this high emotional moment, strikes me way so deep. So moving the words from all the members, RIP Glenn Frey, always on my mind.
Randy seemed like a nice kind and maybe shy guy...same with Timothy....both bass players....idk much about the band😮so i might be wrong but they both seem so cute, humble and sweet. R.I.P R.M & G.F!

You guys deserve this! And thanks Don for acknowledging the kid that picks up a guitar or drum stick because of the need to fit in some place or some where. I was 10 in 1975 and I learned to sing and play on guitar Lyin’ eyes and it changed my world. I am now a sales rep for a west coast company (Not the success you are in the “Waning years of the 20th century”) but I want to thank you for pulling a shy kid out of the shadows. Your music was good to my soul then and still is now at 55 in 2020!
Don Felder definitely is the key piece to the puzzle for his guitar talent. Joe is an excellent player but Felder more talent and more of an ingredient in what as you said, took them from good to greatness.... You are correct!!!
I dunno if I agree. Felder was great, but before he joined Eagles they had a characteristic sound that lifted them above the other wanna-be bands in the overcrowded country-rock genre. And that characteristic sound was due to Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon, the two veteran co-founders of Eagles - it was their sweet and rich harmonies and excellent instrumentation that gave Eagles their wings. They both left Eagles in order to save their sanity- Bernie after their first FIVE albums, Randy after their first SIX albums. Not much new material was released after Bernie and Randy left, and Eagles became like a cover band doing re-runs of the hits from when Bernie and Randy were in the band.
Randy I love your voice, your cuteness and awesomeness and the rest of the Eagles. I love you guys from the very beginning and can’t stop watching your video🙏🙏🙏❤️

I do not believe anyone can sing, drum or play guitar like the Eagles in this song. They have reached perfection in the performance of Hotel California. What an accomplishment! I love every song they ever wrote or sang in concert. I was fortunate to see them in the Hell Freezes Over Tour in 1994 in New Orleans. What a concert and it is a great memory of my sister and I driving there. Thank you, all!
Nothing heartfelt about anything Henley or Frey said. I read Felder's book and the way Bernie and Randy were treated at this note wasn't right. Glenn never acknowledged the rest of the eagles, not even Henley
Rest in peace Glen Frye 🤍🙏🤍 Was able to go to their last concert in Austin Texas 2022. They were as good as ever! Awesome job guys you brought so much joy to so many people 🤍
Glenn’s mafia don explanation of the group’s claustrophobic and combustible power dynamics is more revealing than intended, beyond the awkward humor he employed to acknowledge it…

When Walsh thanked "Don and Glenn for writing those songs that made his job really easy" (at 7:07) check out Don Felder's sad expression ...Don Felder: the real writer of their biggest hit ever "Hotel California".
Don Felder did'nt write the song. Don Henley did. Felder supplied an intro and chord progression. The genius that is Don Henley supplied the lyrics and Glenn Frey came up with the genesis of the song.
@@scrimmy45 From the book "To The Limit" (1998): The song "Hotel California" opens and closes with one of the most immediately recognizable signatures in popular music: the clanging twin guitar riffs of Don Felder and Joe Walsh. "All that music was written by Felder," Henley says. "He had a little studio in his house. He'd been an engineer at one point, before he began to play full-time, so he was really good at it. He created the music track, and although we rerecorded it, basically all the parts were there. I put the melody on top of it while driving around in my car. I write a lot of my songs in the car, still the only time and place in my life I can get some privacy. When it came time to record it, I spent so much time in the studio I did a lot of Hotel California in a bathrobe, singing, playing drums, and drinking gin." You really believe the crap Henley and Frey put in his "documentary". By the way, in Latinamerica, and I dare to say all over the world too, most people knows this song, most people don't know shit about other Eagles songs, and most people understand nothing about the lyrics because they don't speak english. How about that?
Up ahead in a distant; we saw the humbly group who pursued this tune to put into music. The world most adored tune and most played rhythm; Hotel California. Congrats Glenn Frey and Don Henley and the rest of the groups. Thanks
I love the Eagles! The songs and the arrangements were perfection! My two favorite groups: The Beatles and The Eagles! It’s amazing how they could create so much great music! I’m happy to see that they included Randy, Bernie and Don Felder, despite past kerfuffles.
Randy, Bernie and Don Felder all deserved to be there - and this show was in 1998, *after* Felder left the band. Randy and Bernie co-founded the Eagles with Frey and Henley, then Don Felder joined the band (introduced by Bernie). They were all equal shareholders in a legal entity (Eagles Inc) that owned the band and all profits generated.
@@mrgjg .. Felder did not “get the boot”. He was an equal one-fifth shareholder in the legal entity “Eagles Inc”, and you can’t fire a shareholder! The other 4 shareholders in Eagles Inc were the original 4 1971 co-founders - Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, Glenn Frey and Don Henley, later joined by Don Felder in 1974. The two veteran co-founders were Randy and Bernie, each coming in with credentials and years of experience - Bernie had been in some innovative rock-bluegrass fusion bands, and Randy at age 24 already had 9 years of singing lead and playing Motown-inspired bass in The Drivin Dynamics, The Poor, and Rick Nelson’s Stone Canyon band (he sang lead on his first record single release at age 16, and went on to sing lead on many more singles releases! ). Randy gave Eagles their first million-seller hit (Take It To The Limit) even tho it was not released as a single and was never promoted, and it was the song that the fans demanded to hear as an encore at concerts, showing hat Randy was the biggest drawcard for Eagles. Bernie also gave Eagles their third hit, which was also the first hit composed only by Eagles - the iconic Witchy Woman, with all music parts composed by Bernie and only lyrics by Henley. Eagles’ first two hits (Take It Easy, and Peaceful Easy Feeling) had been written by other artists. The terms of the share agreement allocated equal shares in all the profits generated by Eagles performances, sales and memorabilia. However, Frey and Henley had decided that they deserved a bigger share than anybody else (the self-promoting Egoes, self-appointed “bosses”) - and they were just helping themselves to more. Felder started noticing large sums “missing” from the Eagles Inc account, and he started asking questions- which is when Frey and Henley sent the notorious “you’re fired” letter that didn’t hold any weight legally speaking. It took many years, but Felder stuck to his guns and continued his charges against the Egoes, and eventually there was an undisclosed settlement on the steps of the courthouse- it is believed that Frey and Henley bought out Felder’s share in Eagles Inc to make Felder’s court case against them go away. By then there were only 3 shareholders in Eagles Inc (both Randy and Bernie had abandoned their shares, choosing instead to save their sanity by leaving the Eagles battleground) - so after Frey and Henley “settled” with Felder, they were the only remaining shareholders in Eagles Inc. Follow the money! Note that Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmit (who replaced Bernie and Randy respectively) were NOT made shareholders in Eagles Inc, and they were paid to perform with Eagles but had no share in the profits from Eagles Inc - like session musicians or salaried employees.
@@greatknightcyber1131 … nope. Please read my reply to marie, above. Part of the terms of the settlement (Felder’s charges against Frey and Henley) included Felder being contractually obligated to participate in the Hell Freezes Over tour and recordings in 1994. After that he was a free man!
For those who enjoy looking down on Felder for some reason: From the book "To The Limit" (1998): The song "Hotel California" opens and closes with one of the most immediately recognizable signatures in popular music: the clanging twin guitar riffs of Don Felder and Joe Walsh. "All that music was written by Felder," Henley says. "He had a little studio in his house. He'd been an engineer at one point, before he began to play full-time, so he was really good at it. He created the music track, and although we rerecorded it, basically all the parts were there. I put the melody on top of it while driving around in my car. When it came time to record it, I spent so much time in the studio I did a lot of Hotel California in a bathrobe, singing, playing drums, and drinking gin." Hotel California is very known in all the world, and most of the world don't understand the lyrics at all, the same goes for the other Eagles material, in Latinamerica for example people hardly know other Eagles songs.

i noticed that too.
Oh yes, the stare, but as a classy guy, he kept it together. Kudos to Timothy! I
@@5sweetiepieI get the feeling Timothy B Schmitt can stand up for himself effectively. He’s nice but can fight too.
Rest In Peace Randy Meisner and Glen Frey. Your contribution to music will be appreciated forever. ❤️🎵❤🎵
Hi I just wanted to thank you again for being so supportive and following me on my journey. I love inspiring and encouraging others. People like you help me to keep showing up! Hope you are having an amazing day❤
Super sad that both of these guys died! Awesome talent!
Randy still very handson and atractive man he wrote a few song for the Eagles Randy the People loving you
Randy seems so uncomfortable standing there. Don't know why, he played a huge part in the history of the brilliant Eagles. Love you Randy. X. Congratulations to all the Eagles. 👏👏👏
Yes, he sure did. Randy Meisner is on of the most understated talent of this band.
Henley & Frey really made asses of themselves toward Randy & Bernie backstage. From what I've read, they all but told them they were lice for leaving the band. IF I was them, I'd feel a bit weird being onstage with them too.
@@holding53 in Don Felder's book, He spoke about this moment and how this was not the happiest of atmospheres.
Don't forget Linda. Pivotal to their formation and success as well.
Eagles as a band pre-date the song though.
Jackson wrote 95 % of Take it Easy. Frey added the part about the girl in the flatbed Ford
I'd like Randy for singing the best Eagles song ever, Take it to the limit. You are a hero and a true inspiration to me!
Best song ever
Timothy B. Schmidt...class act!
Total respect for Schmidt🤘
I just can't step away from this high emotional moment, strikes me way so deep. So moving the words from all the members, RIP Glenn Frey, always on my mind.
Should be a higher level of hall of fame for groups like The Eagles. So much talent.
Absolutely
Randy seemed like a nice kind and maybe shy guy...same with Timothy....both bass players....idk much about the band😮so i might be wrong but they both seem so cute, humble and sweet. R.I.P R.M & G.F!
R.I.P. randy meisner who passed today 7-26-23. essential to the eagles early sound.

He only sang one song

Hard to believe 20+ plus years have gone by since The Eagles 1998 HOF Induction took place. Bernie Leadon you are a musical genius too. Journey of the Sorcerer is but one example - indicted and inducted at the same time. I hope you are laughing and smiling all the way to the bank, you earned it. Randy Meisner too. Love all the Eagles. I Wish You Peace - kimie
ikr? 2️⃣2️⃣ effing years ~ wow.
The best guitarist of The Eagles- DOn Felder . I love Randy and Timothy. Randy is soooooo handsome!!! and Don Felder is soo sexy and still handsome!
love the eagles so much. glad to see randy and bernie there for the first time in years
What a privilege to have attended 2 of their shows! STUNNINGLY TALENTED BUNCH OF GUYS! I lived in San Diego, CA from 1978 to 1984 -- so their vibe flowed through me as the boogie-boarding cool made another powerful series of impressions on me. WOW! I'm glad they were so recognized. Great fun! Peace and Love from Cav; 17 Jan., 2024. *
You guys deserve this! And thanks Don for acknowledging the kid that picks up a guitar or drum stick because of the need to fit in some place or some where. I was 10 in 1975 and I learned to sing and play on guitar Lyin’ eyes and it changed my world. I am now a sales rep for a west coast company (Not the success you are in the
“Waning years of the 20th century”) but I want to thank you for pulling a shy kid out of the shadows. Your music was good to my soul then and still is now at 55 in 2020!
You all did well Eagles !!! You light our hearts with songs and music !!!
forgiveness is a big word that needs to be remembered.
Easy to say, but how to forgive Glenn and Henley after their bullying behavior year after year!
@@winnykooyman4851 I understand that.
Don Felder's ability on the guitar took the Eagles from being good to being great.
Don Felder definitely is the key piece to the puzzle for his guitar talent. Joe is an excellent player but Felder more talent and more of an ingredient in what as you said, took them from good to greatness.... You are correct!!!
100%
I concur
@@ingfig1 Exactly!
thanks timmy for the shout out to randy
I love the eagles I crank them up in my car
All their music is so sweet
Love every song!
Congratulations eagles very late 💜❤️
Randy I love your voice, your cuteness and awesomeness and the rest of the Eagles. I love you guys from the very beginning and can’t stop watching your video🙏🙏🙏❤️
Relax Mom.
How fucking sweet is Randy? How is he nervous on stage? The man is a fucking star! May he rest in peace!
Huge Eagles fan here..but was bit shocked nobody mentioned the fans like myself that helped you get there.
Timothy B Schmidt - pure class.

I was at that show! Its really sad that he passed away soon after
I do not believe anyone can sing, drum or play guitar like the Eagles in this song.
Timothy BS and Randy M. are so cool. I wish Don F. was not kicked out.
Soooo good to see Bernie Ledon and Randy Meisner be included in this induction!
Great heartfelt speeches from these seven guys who knew what it was like to truly be an Eagle!
Nothing heartfelt about anything Henley or Frey said. I read Felder's book and the way Bernie and Randy were treated at this note wasn't right. Glenn never acknowledged the rest of the eagles, not even Henley
Thank you Timothy!! Loved your look when Glen said get over it. You are awesome!
a band overflowing with talent
Right on
And egos.
What a classy move by Timothy to thank Randy.
I love Timothy . He has a great voice. I Can’t Tell You Why is one of my favorite songs.
Rest in peace Glen Frye

Was able to go to their last concert in Austin Texas 2022. They were as good as ever! Awesome job guys you brought so much joy to so many people

Glenn’s mafia don explanation of the group’s claustrophobic and combustible power dynamics is more revealing than intended, beyond the awkward humor he employed to acknowledge it…
Randy Meisner Thanks for all the songs that you wrote especial YOU ON SONG TALKING ABOUT YOU DIVORCE TAKE IT TO THE LIMITED

Henley is an asshole
This band carried him.
Very true, but what a great band?!
Carried him? Hardly. He’s an asshole though.
Connie Vino true but a real great musician he can play a lot of different instruments he can write music and sing with no auto tune
One of the best group band of all time.Song writing is incredible.Lyrics arrangements has lot of meaning philosophically.Talented musicians. Can't get better than that.Cheers.

Powerful band and powerful music. Thanks so much for the everything.
It was nice to them together again !
@@scrimmy45 From the book "To The Limit" (1998):
The song "Hotel California" opens and closes with one of the most immediately recognizable signatures in popular music: the
clanging twin guitar riffs of Don Felder and Joe Walsh. "All that music was
written by Felder," Henley says. "He had a little studio in his house. He'd
been an engineer at one point, before he began to play full-time, so he was
really good at it. He created the music track, and although we rerecorded it,
basically all the parts were there. I put the melody on top of it while driving
around in my car. I write a lot of my songs in the car, still the only time and
place in my life I can get some privacy. When it came time to record it, I
spent so much time in the studio I did a lot of Hotel California in a
bathrobe, singing, playing drums, and drinking gin."
You really believe the crap Henley and Frey put in his "documentary".
By the way, in Latinamerica, and I dare to say all over the world too, most people knows this song, most people don't know shit about other Eagles songs, and most people understand nothing about the lyrics because they don't speak english. How about that?

Ok I'll say it. Thanks to the FANS for sticking with a Great Band./ Ok & i love The EAGLES! ILL BE A FAN TILL DEATH BECOMES ME.
Don Felder definitely is the key piece to the puzzle for his guitar talent.На мой взгляд он недооценён как гитарист.Он хороший гитарист и человек.
Up ahead in a distant; we saw the humbly group who pursued this tune to put into music. The world most adored tune and most played rhythm; Hotel California. Congrats Glenn Frey and Don Henley and the rest of the groups. Thanks
These guys and their music helped us make it through our Military experience. Thank you guys.
I love the Eagles! The songs and the arrangements were perfection! My two favorite groups: The Beatles and The Eagles! It’s amazing how they could create so much great music! I’m happy to see that they included Randy, Bernie and Don Felder, despite past kerfuffles.
Well this was before Felder getting the boot.
@@ingfig1 i thought they fired felder in 2001

Hotel California is very known in all the world, and most of the world don't understand the lyrics at all, the same goes for the other Eagles material, in Latinamerica for example people hardly know other Eagles songs.
