>after covid passes it won't, the governments have gotten a taste of ultimate power, they won't give that up, they will keep the covid scare for decades to come.
i would certainly say in the case of actiblizzard and EA they were going to release stinkers regardless, since they were on a streak of poor releases right before covid, too, they are being poorly managed if the controversies hasn't made that clear, covid or not Vanguard was going to be disappointing, as the direction of the game clearly was not strong and disrespected the series legacy, 2042 was a knee jerk to V's failure and rushed out for the christmas season, was still going to be bad under the best conditions.
It really does suck that these developers have to do things under all this, but I think the real culprit is the publishers and management team so outside of reality that you can put out quality releases with these circumstances. If it's not feasible to throw out a good game with rich amounts of content, then management needs to recognize that. No one would mind if Halo and Battlefield got another year in development if it means the players had a stronger product to start off with.
Everyone is placid and unmoved until they realize 30% of the money that goes towards production of the game actually just goes right into the pockets of corporate management. And then we wonder why a 2021 release doesnt even have a FOV slider.
Covid was never the problem in video games. It started with the intro of PSN and quality slowly faded from there. Leading to unfinished product after unfinished product.
Unfortunately, I think whoever is in charge of publishing games know they can release unfinished games and get away with it. Fallout 76, No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077 all did this and managed to get away with it. But it's clear the developers care, otherwise 76 would be shut down and wouldn't have any upcoming updates, No Man's Sky would've been left behind, and Cyberpunk wouldn't have it's developers working to fix the game. It seems to be a trend that I really hope dies soon.
It’s a miracle that DOOM Eternal was able to come out right when the COVID outbreak really started happening and the world shut down. Even more so that the game ended up being as good as it was. It almost felt like divine intervention. The Doom Slayer was sent from God to help us through the dark age of 2020.
Dying Light 2 releasing in such a good state is such a relief. Delays were worth it, since I’ve now been playing for almost 40h since release and have gotten 0 crashes, no performance issues, and only a single sidequest bugging so far.
i cannot stop watching your videos man. All of them are really good and i've never seen a bad one and i think i wont see any in the future. Keep up the great work man, you are the best of the best!

Actually they were going to add more expansions to bf2 like mustafar, ahsoka and more long-term support but instead we got an unfinished buggy release of BF2042 typical EA.
Unfinished crap really isn't new, though. It's been happening for a decade. Battlefield 4, Assasin's Creed Unity, Sonic Boom, both Destiny games, Anthem, Halo 5, MCC, Cod AW, Fallout New Vegas and 76, hell, AC Valhalla STILL has bugs out the ass. I could keep going btw. The main thing im really sad about post covid, and i dont know if covid affected it's rise, but it's how crypto is making getting into the pc scene more and more difficult. I am a software engineer. The quality of work has only increased in my organisation due to work from home. Covid is not an excuse. Greed is the problem here
I would also say Covid also made people become more whiney about game bugs. Not denying that bugs don’t exist because every game ever has bugs. But it seems like people have too much free time to nitpick bugs in new games that most of the time have no effect on playing the game normally.
Blame publishers for continuing to rush these games out. Even before the pandemic, many publishers like EA were okay with releasing unfinished games because “oh it’s okay! We are gonna update it it’ll be fine!” Most games for the last decade come out unfinished. And Covid just shows that the publishers care more about releasing anything than releasing quality products.
I’d like you to make a video on Fortnite in 2022 it was one of the most played games of 2021 with the release of chapter 3 having to use its queue to wait 29 minutes at first to get on and it seems like it has been sent back to its former glory
