i feel like that thing you mentioned at the end with the ea hate train being redundant is super important. like i think they are probably the company with the worst consumer practices but at the same time are the most avoidable. people really should focus their hatred towards companies that have turned their studios into sweatshops and consistently abuse and ignore their employees.
I feel sad for every EA employee working for a company that doesn't believe in their capabilities or care about them. Tbh i believe that it would greatly benefit the employees to quit and work for another company or start their own not only for their mental health but also because they are always doing the same thing i bet they would love to work on something they actually have passion for.
Bruh. EA is literally one of the few triple AAA companies that cares for the work environment of it's employees. Only reports for crunch was with Anthem but still it's probably a heaven to work for EA compared to Ubisoft, Blizzard, Activision and 2020 CDPR. Also you believe that it will greatly benefit the employees to quit the job that provides them with a good salary and go search for another job that would probably make them move out to another city which would put them in a stressful position? Have you ever worked in your life?
This is why ever since I heard EA bought Codemasters, I feared for the F1 franchise, it was already as monotonous as it is with its annual releases, but it will be worse now with Codemasters being bought by EA.
Why can’t we just have triple A titles that are fully controlled by a team of devs who wants to make something good. Thank god Santa Monica exists, hoping Ragnarok wont ditch their name in shit.
valve, feelzbadman only releases a game once a decade lol. since they literally adopted day 1 best lootbox strats they havent shot any of their games in the foot, allowing them to support whatever the fuck they want to try. There is a "golden phrase" when it comes to these big, AAA failure releases, and that is MVP: Minimum Viable Product. Basically, a company tries to release the game with as little stuff as possible, in the hopes that people still buy it while they add features for later
Shhhhhh they don't want to hear logic in this kneejerk parade. Grid Legends, Lost In Random, ME: Legendary Collection, It Takes Two, Squadrons, C&C Remastered, and Fallen Order can *all* fall to the wayside because they botch a game like BF2042.... 🙄 It's also funny, because there isn't nearly as long as a list of successes in ratio to failures from companies like Ubisoft or Activision, yet EA always receives all the hate. It's especially ironic considering GT7 was released this month, a game filled with microtransactions, against Grid, an EA game without.
EA has killed more studios and franchises than Ubisoft and Activision combined, but guess what? Ubisoft and Activision are shitty ass companies too. EA has been doing the nickle and diming longer than any other studio. In 2010, if you bought a used EA game, you had to pay $10 for the privilege of playing online. Rented a video game for the weekend or your friend let you borrow their copy? No multiplayer for you! Personally I hate EA because of how they handled Apex Legends. It's an amazing game that they have turned into a pure monetization cow. Want a single crappy looking skin? That will be $20 please. Oh you want actual content? New game modes or events? Sorry, we only add new collection events where you have to spend $160 to unlock a single item.

Dude, I’m sick and tired of EA. They show everything wrong with the gaming industry and how greed has taken over. I collect games and I look forward to most EA titles. I told myself “this won’t be so bad, they probably learned from their mistakes last time. They can’t screw it up as bad as last time.” Surprisingly, they always do. Every release seems to be worse than the last. The only good release in recent memory for me was Star Wars Jedi fallen order. I love that game and have recently completed a replay of it on new game plus. Sometimes, I have even defended the company. I was one of the few defending battlefield 2042 after the terrible release of the alpha and told people it was just a prerelease and not to worry. Boy was I wrong. I enjoyed the game for a week until I realized my bullets weren’t hitting, even when I was right next to my enemy. I now have basically given up on EA. I don’t know if they can ever come back from these lows.
@Insert_text_here Whenever EA destroys like 4 of my favorite franchises, I'd say all the hate is 100% well deserved. They don't have to be worse than Blackwater or BP or Nestle to deserve the hate they get. Don't care about the proportions, they deserve it and frankly its the least they fucking deserve since they still exist as a corporate entity.
You have to remember that BETA isn't really excusable even for bugs. Usually the condition a game or app is in the Beta will most likely be that way at launch. That's how small the gap between the Beta and Launch is. If it were maybe an alpha, that would be different.
Gonna be honest, the moment I saw the title I mentally rolled my eye's thinking "no $#!+" and almost passed up the video, that's how obvious it is and how tiring and redundant it is to hear it at this point..
I think one thing that is not mentioned about EA is how they fired the original creator of Plants Vs Zombies for suggesting that they shouldn't have in app purchases/ pay to win.
DUDE, I remember buying Burnout Paradise last year on Steam which MADE YOU have to launch Origin to be able to play it, but the game crashed after the title screen and the ONLY FIX was to not allow Origin to connect to the internet while launching the game. Yes... It was THAT STUPID.

I loved a lot of their older games, like: PvZ, PvZ Garden Warfare, Skate, etc. The CLASSICS. And what do they do? Make another, final instalment that ruins that FRANCHISE ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Battlefield 2042 has two major foundational problems: map design and class setup. Maps are too big with little to no cover, worst maps in any bf game. Class setup promotes single player gameplay. Compare this to bf5. Bf5 had great maps with tons of cover and foliage, and the classes promote tons of team play while also allowing you to grab your own health from the supply stations

I was Hella upset about Anthem after playing on release (hell no, I didn't pay for it).. the trailer got me So gassed. But EA took that gat damn tea and biscuits with the amount one has to spend Just to have a half decent playthrough of Sims 4. You'd practically have to pay over 400£/$ buying all the DLCs and game. They don't even get a pass for developing Fallen Order.
I think this video is very good and well editing, I will say that in the beginning u mention that they mistreat their employees, but they actually have incredible reviews and according to Glassdoor, most employees loved their experience with great benefits and amazing friends there. Now, I may be a tiny bit biased because unlike popular opinions, I think ea is getting a lot better and will continue to get better as long as nothing drastic changes.
But ea doesn't give a crap about their "customers" - us. Just look at the sims 4, they charged us for so many basic gameplay and features that should've been in base game: "Oh you want weathers? Pay!", "Oh you want parenthood too? Pay!", "Oh you want a "My wedding story" pack which is full of bugs and glitches? Pay!" 🤷

I have yet to understand what keeps people buying their games year after year. It's 99% that a game they release is going to be buggy, broken, littered with microtransactions, and not fun.
The reason lots of people buy for example fifa every year is because it’s by far the best football game ye ultimate team is pay to win which is a bit shit but the rest of the game modes are good
@@dylanplays4449 Dude, it is literally the exact same game every single time. If you play one of them, you have LITERALLY played them all. There are no changes to the gameplay or mechanics. The only thing that changes is the graphical fidelity.
Another Problem of EA is the IP Hogging they do. first they buy a Studio with all its great Franchises, make them ruin their own game and then throw them away(since the Game was suddenly and Unexpectedly not how the players wanted it, and became UNPROFITABLE), but the IP, the Franchise, the Universe that surounded us while playing ? they keep them for as long as they "might be able" to make Money from them.
I remember when EA wasn't milking franchises every year. They were an amazing publisher back then. *Most* memorable NFS games? EA. *Some of* the most memorable FPSs? EA. *One of* the sole reasons city-builders are a popular genre? EA.
Man it's sad how EA just screws with their game devs so much. like as you said battlefront 2 was a p2w mess at launch which sucks bc that killed its player base and now a days its the definitive shooter for star wars fans and its a lot of fun. also they stopped dice for fixing a game breaking bug for the longest time and are probably doing the same with respawn and the Titanfall games. man its a disaster that respawn got bought out by them (other than the fact that respawn get to use the star wars license).
When they took out all of the game breaking glitches and pay to win features such as loot boxes in Battlefront 2 it actually became quite a good game, but if course right when the game was catching popularity again and people were loving it, EA cut support for the game and it no longer gets updates.
I think the funniest part about EA is that they aren’t original enough to come up with their own predatory micro transaction systems, so they just copy whatever makes the most money, (lootboxes and battle passes come to mind)
I'm glad you mentioned Titanfall 3, I loved TF2, and i'm glad you mentioned Dead Space...that's kinda my thing as you can tell, i'm also glad you mentioned Battlefront II because that game launched horribly and became honestly one of the best Multiplayer Shooters imho. As for 2042, I've always been an Avid Battlefield Fan, but i was unbelievably upset on Release Day with 2042, i was completely unable to get a refund so my thoughts on 2042 now that i've played it since it's been patched and with the small, but mostly nice fanbase that's left, it's not bad, especially when you play Old School Maps in Portal, but then again, Battlefield is my favorite Multiplayer Franchise so i'm a little biased, still very pissed about Launch tho and i'm not pre-ordering the next Battlefield, i'll buy it after release if it's good (and before anyone says i'm bullshitting, i didn't Pre-Order BF1 or BFV, I only Pre-Ordered 2042 cuz i wanted Battlefield 4 Part 2, that's it, but i'm waiting this time.)
Great video. Here's another example: the F1 game, released every year (F1 2018, 19, 20, 21) Codemasters (who made the game) were bought. Apparently, F1 2022 is gonna be trash with way to many micro transactions. A sad story for Racing Games fans.
I got Star Wars Battlefront 2 the Christmas of 2017, I didn’t know about the whole loot box thing because I was young enough to not care about that stuff. I love that game and thing it’s one of the best of all time. When I heard what happened to it in the early days, I was upset, because the game never was seen for the high action fun that it really was by most people
@@arenius8376 Prior to Dante's Inferno's release, in June 2009, a protest began during E3 2009 in Los Angeles to oppose the game. Around 20 protesters, claiming to be from a church in Ventura County, held up signs that called the game sacrilegious and labeled it possibly insensitive to people's beliefs. Protesters even went as far as calling EA the anti-christ. This led to EA being accused by many people of staging the fiasco to use it as a marketing hoax. A few days later, it was officially confirmed by EA spokesman Tammy Scachter that they had hired people to protest the game and that there was no actual protest. However, in the aftermath of this revelation, several Christian bloggers protested to this, calling it an "anti-Christian" stunt.
Man I miss, Command and Conquer and Yeah, Origin is really bad plus it throttles my download speed probably to keep me in the store hoping I buy something else. But until people stop buying their sports game every year it won't change.
1:00 Well it is no wonder why you have a lot of traffic. You followed the american model of "Just one more lane bro. Just one more lane, and it will fix traffic. Just one more... And one more. I swear bro this will fix traffic." Roads are really inefficient, and each lane you add to a road adds less and less capacity compared to the previous lane. Because drivers don't spread themselves out evenly. And cars and the infrastructure around them are really really inefficient and expensive. They take up tons of space when compared to if someone toke a train instead or even just walked! So ideally, you should build a city that can move a lot of *people* around. Not move cars around. (Same goes for goods instead of trucks.) That means building a train or metro system that can move large amounts of people between key areas of the city. Primarily though not exclusively between Residential and everything else. Creating shortcuts using pedestrian paths, so often walking is faster than driving for short distances. Giving Commercial and Industrial areas cargo train terminals so trucks don't have to drive through your city for exporting and importing goods. And mixing in some commercial in your residential areas so people don't have to go as far to shop or work. This also means you don't need nearly as much area for roads. Which means more of your city's area can be used for a city, rather than being a giant parking lot. It is also A LOT better for your computer. Pedestrians just kinda walk, not much to it. And trains and busses carry lots of people per vehicle. Rather than 1... Maybe 2 on occassion... So having a city were people use public transit and walk rather than drive, is gonna run at a much better frame rate than one were everyone uses cpu intensive cars.

I do think it’s important to remember that there are actual people working at EA that haven’t got much of a choice in these things. Like all bad things target your scorn at the suits at the top. Not the little guys jus doing their jobs.
They have the choice of working somewhere else. Soldiers use the “I was ordered to” excuse since forever and yet it still doesn’t justify any of it. America is a free country and choice exists.

Players need to take some responsibility at some point and vote with their wallet. i feel like that thing you mentioned at the end with the ea hate train being redundant is super important. like i think they are probably the company with the worst consumer practices but at the same time are the most avoidable. people really should focus their hatred towards companies that have turned their studios into sweatshops and consistently abuse and ignore their employees.

There is a "golden phrase" when it comes to these big, AAA failure releases, and that is MVP: Minimum Viable Product. Basically, a company tries to release the game with as little stuff as possible, in the hopes that people still buy it while they add features for later
the internet requirement in simcity was to prevent pirating. just a fact i think is worth mentioning
It's also funny, because there isn't nearly as long as a list of successes in ratio to failures from companies like Ubisoft or Activision, yet EA always receives all the hate.

It baffles me that EA went from bringing out my all-time favorite games with the SSX and burnout franchises to whatever it's become now.
Sees anything that slanders EA, "YAS". Now you've got my attention buddy. :)

Wait, For real!?
He was laid off. He wasn’t fired. Also he decided to go work on other projects. Google exists for a fucking reason
Fun fact, back before EA was even popular, their business model was to be as profitable as possible, seems like their business model never changes!

Man, the fact that SimCity 5 could've literally been such an amazing game, and now I'm stuck with a game that I really do like but feels unfinished. I know Cities Skylines is a thing but I feel like it doesn't have the sim feeling.

2. They repeatedly do shit
3. The impact of their shit is larger than my shit after eating a burrito
Nope, EA is still exceptionally shitty, even considering everyone else. I'm not saying they're the shittiest, but they're in contention.

I'm honestly glad EA no longer has the Starwars gaming exclusivity, we can finally get more than one or two starwars games a year now.
Stryxo's videos are well put together that a video talking about Ferrari being a equivalent to Nintendo of the car industry would be interesting.
Pay!" 🤷
@@sagi5461 true that, ea needs to work on that or their gonna either get bought by another company or flushed out by the competition. They did very well on the new dead space so maybe not🫡

Same with BFV too

All the missing content, DICE's BF2 team deserved so much more. The scum that is the EA board

“Literally hire me… oh wait, oh my god Don’t!“ @5:32 😂😂😂
I think the funniest part about EA is that they aren’t original enough to come up with their own predatory micro transaction systems, so they just copy whatever makes the most money, (lootboxes and battle passes come to mind)
star wars battlefront 2 was the only time they listened to the fans at all, then they abandoned it
Thank you captain obvious! For saving planet earth once again!

Really great video man! I really didn't think that more could be said about why EA is such a shitty company, but you proved me wrong!
1:00 Well it is no wonder why you have a lot of traffic. You followed the american model of "Just one more lane bro. Just one more lane, and it will fix traffic. Just one more... And one more. I swear bro this will fix traffic."
Roads are really inefficient, and each lane you add to a road adds less and less capacity compared to the previous lane. Because drivers don't spread themselves out evenly.
And cars and the infrastructure around them are really really inefficient and expensive. They take up tons of space when compared to if someone toke a train instead or even just walked!
So ideally, you should build a city that can move a lot of *people* around. Not move cars around. (Same goes for goods instead of trucks.)
That means building a train or metro system that can move large amounts of people between key areas of the city.
I still think Ubisoft is worse because EA can make a good game once in a blue moon
