Had a blast making this with you Mike!
Run a solid state amp into an ir with the same setup no one will ever be able to tell the difference
Yea like why shit on solid state amp like they ain’t real amps? They’re not using a real cabinet. My Laney loud pedal can sound just as good with the right filter after it
iv been looking forward to this video when you teased it being show for free.
Cool video!
I notice that, a lotta players early in their careers tend to cut the mids. Think, Fender type amps - I learned over time to jack the mids, decent treble and decent bass (tight but enough to fill out the low mids)
That said, I'm a blues and country player, and always used just the amp. The guitar is a HUGE and underrated part of the equation, along with the player and setup
Thanks for the video. I didn't know about reactive load boxes! I have been trying to capture my 64 Fender Bassman with all my cabinets and mics. Now I have something to look for :)
This tone got me busting a reactive load
FCK!

Hey Mike. What happened to that video where you interviewed the guy from Shark Tank? I really enjoyed that video. It was a really cool story how you buried the hatchet with the guy. I can't find the video anymore. Did you delete it?
I was actually wondering that too
@@michaelflorczyk5495 Well, the video where he goes after him on Shark Tank is still up, but the apology video isn't. So I guess they had a falling out of some kind.
Solid state is great for metal actually. The Boss Katana and Orange Crush are especially awesome. I think the reason people think is they hate solid state is because of cheap amps. Good quality solid state is just as good as tube and many modern solid state amps even sound tube-like.
Okay so the process is basically the same as an amp sim. Thoughts on superior drummer vs ezdrummer?
The solid state slander. I will not stand for this. I'd like to see some evidence to show that solid state amps are not a good option. :P
Yeah he doesnt know shit theres no reason to even use a real amp if your gona just use an ir an theres plenty of fantastic solid state amps orange is one
@@Durkhead I could record an album with my Peavey Bandit and no one would even know. 😂
@@MichaelSheaAudioas long as you dont use that shitfleild speaker
@@Durkhead No shitfield, it's a modern one so it's got the Blue Marvel in it. Still not an amazing speaker, but it's fine. If I could put a creamback in it, that would be sick, but the only creamback with enough wattage is the Cream 90w and it's uuuhhhh expensive. XD
@@MichaelSheaAudio if you wana record it just use a sm58 the extra filters cancel out most of the harsh freq. Theres a cheap version of it by berhinger called an xm8500
“JUST AN AMP” lol
Sorry, I am not a musician, but good luck with your school. I am sure that there is plenty of good knowledge to be collected there
Al Gore Rhythm boost 🫡
My main rig is a Crate Blue Voodoo 300H into an Avatar cab with two Vintage 30s and two G12Hs, with an MXR 10 band EQ and an Xotic Effects BB+ Preamp, man, my rig sounds insane! I play rhythm guitar through that. My lead guitar rig does have a solid state amp in the mix, but it's a wet/dry rig, it's a Fender Hot Rod DeVille mixed with a Fender M-80 Chorus combo, and I might be cheating having it blended with a tube amp, but either amp alone isn't enough, but both together is absolutely glorious! I have the Source Audio EQ2 so I can have two different shaped contours for each amp, to be totally honest, I've had the Blue Voodoo since 2008ish, and am more in love with that rig, but I'd be lying if I said the wet/dry rig wasn't objectively better-sounding, and man the solid state M-80 Chorus does a ton of work for that tone! From what I hear, it was Fender's answer to the Roland Jazz Chorus line.
The best tone of all time is Burhzum. Come on guys.
