The Wonder Flower is going to be one WILD gimmick for Mario Kart. I can see it work as being a Transformative Item with two states. The Wonder Flower item when used transforms the gameplay and music into their Wonder variant, and the Wonder Seed item will revert back to the original. When the Flower used, it'll initially add a Wonder Effect to the HUD for a few seconds before the track gets transformed. Once the Seed is used, the Wonder Effect will add to the HUD for a few second before it gets reverted back. I can see it being quite a rare pickup that much like the Bullet Bill or the Lightning, will start to appear after a certain point in the race with a cooldown that is just as long as when it first appeared. Getting shocked by Lightning while in the Wonder variant will NOT revert it back. Only the Wonder Seed will revert it. It would be pretty neat to have whacky Wonder variants of track music that relates well to the action while in that effect.

Here’s an idea for Water Park: an infestation sorta thing. The water’s all murky because of algae and it gets on your screen, there’s tons of sea life everywhere, and it’s just overall hard to see what’s going on. Even better, one for Shy Guy Falls: the Gold Rush! The shy guys hit the jackpot, and they’re rushing to build tracks to deliver it all around! In other words, mine carts will break off from off-track areas, and if they hit you, you get caught on the cart, and are pulled with them. whether it be falling into the falls (pun not intended), or they dodge and weave to stay on the track. And, maybe they could have you drive on the tracks. (No, I technically didn’t steal this idea from WGM. I hadn’t gotten to that yet lol)
For Snes bowser Castle 3, you could also have the volcano in the background erupt, meaning more fire raining down or some parts of the track will sink at the final lap.

And Your Character Goes Running Around For Gas To Put Back In Your Car To Then Finish The Race. (Every Character In The Game Has Different Stats Of How Quick You Run)
It would be cool if after the player in first starts the 3rd lap a short cutscene plays to show the track’s transformation. Everyone’s frozen for a few seconds and it gives you a break to contemplate what your next move is. Would also be funny if the gameplay pauses as soon as you’re about to hit someone with an item.
So my idea for Mario kart 9 is similar. A special item would appear on the track about halfway through a race and if it gets collected by any racer, everyone is immediately warped to an equivalent position on a completely different race track.
I live in Singapore and I think the real cool gimmick of this track is the rain because Singapore is a country where it rains a lot (No like really it rains 4 day a week)

Awesome ideas… but I have an odd suggestion… could you do this with all Smash Bros maps? (Yes, not all maps are Mario related, but the wonder flower doesn’t exist IRL, but he did all the real life maps…
The wonder flower could be like its optional, but your speed increases a lot while the wonder flower is in effect. So maybe you would go like 33% faster if you grab the wonder flower, and you will have all of the risk. Play it safe and dont grab the flower, then you go slower.
So for ribbon road I think instead of a dog walking in and knocking stuff over I think there should be Pikmin and we all turn into Captain Olomar and alI items turn in Pikmin! Oh and for Coconut Mall we could have Miis driving the cars again!

After the success of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, I think this will be the next Mario Kart's Gimmick. The next game could be called Mario Kart Wonder.
Instead of the giant Rainbow Thwomp from SNES Rainbow Road, they remove all the Thwomps and it shakes all the time.
