- As wild as it sounds, it has been one whole year since Super Mario Bros Wonder released. Naturally, I felt an urge to return to the game and see if it was just as fun on a replay as it was the first time around. Is Super Mario Wonder still a great game, or did its shine wear off over time? Let's find out!

Wonder did have so many fun features. Truly an excellent game. I also loved the roll roll roll wonder effect even more so on the hard version.
Yeah, the special level with that effect is super fun
I like Wonder, but it’s definitely overrated imo. I feel like it focuses more on spectacle than platforming, and the game as a whole feels too easy because of it. Not even the 5 star Special World levels felt as challenging as they should’ve been imo. I honestly had more fun playing through NSMBU which felt even more challenging than this game, which is rather disappointing since a lot of people were hyping Wonder up to be the hardest 2D Mario game since SMB3 only for it to end up being arguably the easiest 2D Mario game aside from NSMB2. It also felt more satisfying finding the Star Coins and secret exits in NSMBU than in Wonder because of how much more hidden they are, and some of them even require a bit of skill to get. I would’ve liked Wonder a lot more if it kept the artstyle and the movement/physics that it has but played more like a traditional 2D Mario game and focused more on the platforming.
Yeah, I can definitely understand being disappointed with its lack of difficulty
For me, it's overrated. A fine game and probably a lot of fun to play alongside someone else. I just don't really care about the wonder effect mechanic, and sidescrolling mario just doesn't compare to 3d mario for me
Obviously I disagree with the first part lol, but I agree 3D Mario will always be superior
