People who say you are bad.... Are actually proving why this data is the best. Not to insult you though, but this offers a good average for your average player. Imagine if a pro did this, itd be way different!
I feel like Moonview Highway is so easy now because of how hard it was in Wii. Like it just felt like the roads were packed with cars and so many of them would be hidden behind other ones making you make sharp turns while blind to the oncoming traffic ready to flatten you. So I think they toned down the traffic patterns, which really opens up the turns and makes the track a lot easier.
Anyone that complains someone isn't good at the game when they went through the effort to play that much for a single video, is petty and ungrateful, enough said. I enjoy the effort you put into these videos. Great time tuning in.
LOL appreciate it and thanks for the comment. It doesn't bother me though, anyone that puts themselves out there is gonna get shit on in some regard. I could have made the video with all my best races, but it would hardly prove anything...especially about a video that's discusses the hardest cups and why. Trying to prove I'm some pro or what not is never the point, but I'm glad there's people out there that appreciate it regardless of the apparent 'skill level' so thank you
I had this feeling several times too, first I grinded the gold parts, then I played through every track in the game for my series, some several times as I forgot about the challenge while doing it
12:26 in 200cc you can outpace the blue shell. You need to keep boosting your speed by drifting or using mushrooms (which can be better used to dodge it outright) but running from a blue shell is a pretty fun thing to do
I find this interesting because it brings up the question: what does it mean for a track to be difficult? Like, maybe mushroom gorge is easy, because it has wide turns, is pretty easy to not fall off if thats your main goal, and most players who have even a basic idea of the games mechanics can win against cpus without practice. But you could also say its very difficult, because to get a decent time trial you not only need super bounces, soft drifting, and very specific alignments... but to get a trial that even begins to count then you need to gap jump. This is where you set up a specific alignment coming out of the gorge, land with a drift, activate it, then mushroom with a hop to skip the entire last turn. Thats a doosy of a tech to be functionally required. Or maybe the track is even easier than the first one thought? Because if you CAN gap jump, then any race vs cpus or similarly skilled friends will be a completely free win.
Pro tip: If you’re playing on inside drift or on 200cc and have to go through consecutive turns you can cancel your mini-turbo after your drift by briefly releasing the A button for the drift to cancel and then start your next drift by releasing the left bumper and pressing it down again but you can’t cancel your drift if you have auto accelerate on
I feel VINDICATED. When i was 100% the booster course cups i was STRUGGLING so hard on the cherry cup. Glad to know someone else found it as hard as i did
True. Same with the Double Dash Tracks. In DD DK Mountain and Waluigi Stadium were much harder to drive on, same with daisy Cruiser and Yoshi Circuit. Also Wii Rainbow Road is far too easy on MK8DX because of all those stupid railings being there that weren't existing in the Wii version (loke already the one in the forst curve and the one after the half pipe gap jump. They removed so many risks of falling down it made the track almost boring compared to Wii.
Something I noticed about your driving is that you drift on every turn. If a turn isn’t that curved or long you don’t need to drift. Like at 2:41 on Choco Mountain.
@@flypengu1n515 In the example OP showed, it is much faster to initiate a right drift there, rather than splitting it into two separate drifts. The startup of the drift will swing you to left, just enough to clear the wall, and allows for a tighter turn. Starting the right drift early also lets you get a super mini-turbo, or even an ultra mini-turbo rather than just blue sparks, giving much more speed around the next straightaway! Similar turns to this one appear in DS Wario Circuit, GCN Yoshi Circuit, and 3DS Neo Bowser City, notably. Hope this helps!
I feel like the reason why you get worse results on many Mario kart tour games isn't because they're hard but because most of them are genuinely terribly designed
9:47 Fun fact: Dispite living in the Alpine region, in German the name of the tracks has nothing to do with the alps. It's called "Gebirgspfad" ≈ Mountainpath
When I was 100%ing the BCP, I would always get 2nd place at any one of the propeller cup's tracks. Did abt 20 attempts until I beat it with 3 stars. After that, I proceeded to win every single race left
For me Fruit Cup was easily the hardest when I was doing them, I struggles so much more to 3 star it then any other cup. DK Summit being the main culprit, the cpus seem very good on that track. At least I really like all 4 tracks in that cup, so I didn't mind playing it a lot.
People who think you suck at driving have way too much of a high horse of themselves. Its mario kart and 50 races on any track are bound to get you some low finishes. Great video admire the dedication
9:06 The blue shell that was circling above you actually knocked the chain chomp upwards, which is why you didn't get hit haha. It does this to most track obstacles, saving you while plotting your demise in order to be the sole reason you throw your controller. Hope this helps!
13:14 don't worry about doing stuff like that, when I tried mario kart 8 deluxe for the first time, I kept just drifting off, as in just forgetting I was playing mario kart and just thinking about other stuff. And even now when I have stopped doing that as often as I used to, I still keep driving straight into bananas even when I see them long in advance.
It's crazy how different snes mario circuit is online from in the cup. The course is straight up chaotic online and has been one of my favorites since wii lol. Everybody is just taking shortcuts and flying around everywhere.
I FINALLY got the booster course pass for christmas, and for me, the fruit cup was the hardest, followed by the moon and rock cups. I actually beat the spiny cup first try (while only getting first), unless you count my TV disconnecting as a loss, but the fact that I beat the first half again without getting 2nd further proves that it wasn't hard for me (despite being a noob)
I'm not sure if an arithmetic mean really says all that much for the ranks, since ranks are ordinally scaled. A median and/or mode might be more meaningful way of expressing track difficulty.
