The red-armored Sith stormtroopers were the culmination of Darth Sidious' vision of the perfect soldier: a living extension of the Emperor's will. In its ultimate push toward galactic conquest, the First Order readied the army of Sith troopers, whose existence was unknown even to most within the regime.
The Shadow Troopers have been my favorite type of Storm Troopers since I read out about them. I can see Shadow Troopers being used as guard detail but with their cloaking devices activated. But what catches my eye about the Death Troopers are the arc blasters and what they can do to an enemy, to me, its like artificial Force Lightning at one's finger tips.
I have a legendary story of a dark trooper in BFII. Was playing the campaign and got to fighting on the moon base level, but was having an insanely difficult time capturing a zone midway through the game. This lasts till there's only a couple minutes left on the timer and I am literally the last trooper alive; but I was a Dark Trooper. Jumping around, blasting everything as if my life depended on it, I managed to kill the entire Rebel army down to the last man, take the objective, which secured reinforcements who went on to secure the rest of the mission with 0 further casualties. Went from Lieutenant to General that day. Dark Trooper FTW
@Homer Of course in-universe it is explained that the Stormtroopers on the Death Star were ordered to purposely miss them so Luke and friends could escape to the Rebel Base and the Empire could track them But we all know it's just that they can't shoot the protagonists, happens in every movie
@@ImprovedCameraman Another explanation There's a scene in Rebels where Rex has a Stormtrooper helmet on as disguise and he can't shoot Then he throws the helmet away and hits every mark
There are times I wish they had done a better job reflecting that Stormtroopers were elites, and that there were soldiers beneath them; I've had a number of instances, DMing Star Wars RPG, where I've had to explain that the white-clad soldiers were not rank and file, or the typical trooper you'd see on any street corner. Saying that, I often enjoyed the flexibility of the Trooper Corps, when wd got to see such elite variants of the elites. One of my own personal favorites, from Legends, is the Spacetrooper; an advanced Stormtrooper basically wearing a tank. They could probably stand on the exterior of a ship, and serve as impromptu weapons emplacements, like some of the more powerful Destroyers, from the Clone Wars era, but really they could fly over to a capital ship, mag-attach to its hull, blast through, board, and kill anything inside. Their game stats were superior, in several ways, to a TIE fighter, and they were pretty powerful.
I prefer a combined arms squad of Death Troopers, and Shadow Troopers. Just equip DTs with Cloaking devices and I can have an ultimate Death Squad of Hitmen under my command.

Great video on the types of stormtroopers and one thing I wonder about is howcome death troopers don’t show up in the original trilogy I know the obvious answer would be because they weren’t thought of at the time but that still makes me wonder about it because I feel like Star Wars can and should be a lot better than it currently is
