- Roger Hodgson, co-founder of Supertramp, is the singer/songwriter of this most beautiful treasure, A Soapbox Opera, which is from the album, Crisis? What Crisis? Seeing Roger perform with an orchestra is mesmerizing. This performance is from a July 2013 concert in Germany with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra at Jazzopen Schlossplatz. Roger also gave us the eternal classics such as Dreamer, Give a Little Bit, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Fool's Overture, Hide in Your Shell, It's Raining Again and many more.
Although Roger and Supertramp's other co-founder shared writing credit, they actually wrote and composed separately with each singing their own songs. Roger is the Voice you have been listening to on almost all the classic hit songs that were recorded by Supertramp - the Voice people all over the world love.
Roger is touring worldwide and audiences are once again experiencing the magic and spirit that Roger Hodgson created with Supertramp. Young people today DO NOT know what music is! This is simply FANTASTICO!
Do not say it so. Every time has itˋs music

@@ProGamer-gq1ox Good for you! You know what I'm talking about! This song (and all the songs from Supertramp) travel through generations and does not get old!
@@matthiasrohn8640 no man! Sorry! There's no Music nowadays! Today you can find cell phone ringtones. 🤣

Qu y a t il de plus beau ?????? C est une merveille d orchestration mais quel régal ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm a metal head, I love Supertramp and this is a piece of art.
What has born good (Supertamp), can only improve with age. And when it comes to music, some become immortal. Thath`s what Supertramp and Roger became.
Thank you for sharing this treasure piece of music. Simply the best.
Arte.
Must be such a memorable experience for both those on stage and in the audience... Heard this as a kid and played it late at night in my bed through cranked up headphones, in the dark.... no words...
O rastro de talento e cultura musical de Roger Rodgson. Cadê os brasileiros que curtem? Porrada de likes aqui!!!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😃🤗
Ola...Suecia...Viva Brazil ❤Beijinhos
Amo Supertramp.......
It was my dear departed brother who introduced me to Supertramp's music, all those years ago. This song makes me cry.
Best Band ever
A genre of music that was only practiced for a few years, but is immortal in its glory.
Nonsense
All things bright and beautiful ,wars galore is how it's turned out . Keep spreading the good words everyone
Supertramp came to me as a young 11 year old girl at a time my world changed with a interstate move from populated Denver, CO to Boise, ID. My immersion in music was full thanks to my parents who played records from Puccini to Charley Pride and Ray Price back to Waylon Jennings and Pavoratti. The works of Roger Hodgson guided me into junior high, through high school in a comfortable and curious time capsule. 45 years later, I still travel back to my growing years and am grateful for this gift of musicianship that has been untouched since. True artists. True composition and written as music should always have been brought forth. Thank you.
How I would like my loved ones to put this song on at my funeral...

One of the finest pieces of music I've ever heard.❤
Rodger Hodgson - all your songs are really fantastic!
MORE than that. I adore him
Still going strong in my mind.Soap box opera......and everthing that SUPERTRAMP have been Done. ❤❤❤❤❤Marie Beijinhos From Sweden.
Lindo demais! Amo Supertramp! ❤
A message for future generations: Don't let this song die ❤
As a 17 year old I heavily agree.
I feel like Supertramp is the only band that has this level of emotion inside of it. The singing, the tones, the story. Its unfortunate that they’ve deformed in the 80s.
By far the best band I have ever listened to❤
At age 11 my older brother took me to my first concert: to see what would become my favorite band of all time.🤩 I could play every single Supertramp song by age 13... every part, and knew every word. I somehow thought one day I would be part of the band. Sigh. A girl could dream.
So you are a Dreamer.
Same same was I with 11. - Not every song, but every tone! 🥰
@@rainerpaul8102 yes indeed... to this day!
Written 45 years ago yet still tugs at my heart strings, probably now more than ever. Sublime.
I feel the same way. It tugs at my heart strings more than ever, just like you said.
Every time i listen to It, i get nostálgic, a masterpiece

Danke Roger 😊❤🎉
Bei mir das selbe!
Roger's most "universal" song.
This is one of the greatest masterpieces ever!!!!!!!!!!!
I just read the book your band gives the name,45years after loving your music together getting older but still loving good music and literature
'Crime of the Century' is fabulous album, but 'Crisis, What Crisis' is the pinnacle of Supertramp's creative, recording and performing genius. Every single track on it is a gem!!
The best
Meh
So true.
It is very interesting to hear that. I enjoy CWC very much myself, but I read somewhere online that the band considered it to be a "throwaway" album.
Vous aime depuis toujours vous êtes fantastique !!!merci !!!👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
One of my fav songs period. Always loved this song.
Love them one of the best singers I know been to see them a few times in my day
God bless music in the 70ies....music of my wonderful youth and certainly accompaining me til my finale tune

Fantastic orchestra you played along with
I am from Stuttgart but sadly missed this concert! Was probably already living in Berlin! Thanks for posting!!!!
I was already fascinated by this piece when I was 12-13 years old.
And it continues to astonish me, like everything Master Roger Hodgson has done.
It is simply brilliant, and of a complexity that seems to be from another planet. The fruit of a privileged mind
Unbelievable
You have a mind my friend. Stay fascinated.
First time I've heard this song.A work of a genius.

The solo of violins is simply amazing! Almost crying...BRAVO! BRAVO!

Cette chanson est juste......... Merveilleuse...... Je l'adore depuis ma "tendre" jeunesse..... C'est pas peu dire !!!!!!!
Supertramp my favorite band among many good other bands from the 70' when I was a boy. And this is one of their best songs I used to listen to over and over
Masterpiece. So light. So touching. So melodic. So danceable, that one almost goes airborne.
Its been years. Woaw. Magnificent. A work of Art... I bow to you Roger...
Bendito Roger y Supertramp.
Me too. Jajajaja nos pasaba lo mismo.
Brilliant, hope I can listen to Roger Hodgson/ Supertramp for many more years to come
Lyrics:
I hear, only what I want to hear,
But, I have to believe in something,
Have to believe in just one thing.
I said father Washington, you're all mixed up,
Collecting sinners in an old tin cup.
Well, spare a listen for a restless fool,
There's something missing when I need your rule.
Well, hey there;
You tell me you're a holy man, but, although I am just a beginner,
I don't see you as a winner.
I said, sister Washington, you're all washed up,
Collecting teardrops in a paper cup;
If I could tell you what you need to know;
If I could tell you to get on with the show.
I'd rather never leave her,
There's a storm in my head,
Makes me hear what you say;
Just was it true?
So, what have I to do?
Well, what has he to do?-
Ooh, what is there to-oo do+
What oh-oh-ohoh
"All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful, the lord god made them all"
Mary, oh tell me what I'm living for,
Cause I feel like I'm tossed in the river,
Oh' have you a son to deliver.
I said, father Washington, you're all mixed up,
Collecting sinners in an old tin cup,
You tell the children what you need to know,
But, will they listen when it's time to go.
Oh, sister Robinson, you're all washed up,
Collecting teardrops in a paper cup,
Can someone tell me what I need to know,
Can someone help me to get on with the show
Thanks, chica boogie, very kind!
Brilliant Hide in ur shell is another one that absolutely fascinates me.

My dad introduced me to supertramp in 2004 in 9th grade for me and I fell in 😘 ve. I'm 34 now and adore this young so much. My dad died in 2017 and this song makes me think of my dad he loved nothing more than father Washington by supertramp and echoes part 1 Pink Floyd!
A jump back to 1975, lovely memories, the album was truly underrated...
Superb album, good as any of the others, well, maybe not Crime 🤔
Merci, Mister Roger Hodgson!!!
Mr. Roger Hogdson, you are just marvellous after 40 I do have the same feeling listening to you, either tears or chills. How possible unless you are a humble, sensible, giving artist. Thank you so much
