    I always felt bad for Trilla in Fallen Order. Betrayed by her master, tortured into hating the Jedi and hunting down her own. Her final words really sum up the tragedy of the inquisitors. "Avenge us." They are the bad guys but most are just more victims of the empire.

    It's really interesting analysing The Inquisitors' duels.
    The Fifth brother uses his strength and weight.
    the Eight Brother uses agility, stealth, and momentum.
    The Seventh Sister uses momentum and play mind games.

    I believe the reason the Grand Inquisitor basically allowed Kanan to disarm him is shock.
    He was shocked at the sudden ferosity and determination of his opponent an opponent who he up to this point had toyed with plenty of times.
    Suddenly Kanan wasn't his toy anymore he was his equal, shocked at the prospect that this mere Jedi Padawan had the skill to rival his own. The Grand Inquisitor panicked and went on the defensive eventually he was relying exclusively on his blade's ability to spin, this caused him to be disarmed at which point he decided death was preferable to facing Vader's wrath.

    Since the Grand Inquisitor is still alive in the show, that means this take place before the Rebels series. So the question is what made him given up on chasing after Kenobi before he will be assigned to Lothal. Or maybe that is the case? He was in a middle of chasing Obi-wan. And then, Darth Vader suddenly contacted him to go to Lothal? I doubt that will be the case, especially if he informed him of Kenobi's existence. And knowing Vader, he will wanted him to continue going after his rival rather than going after a band of rebels in the Outer Rim.

      I don't believe it will be expanded upon because I don't believe it was intentional as far as in lore is concerned. It is obvious this was an outside story decision to put a female person of color at the forefront of this project. Moses Ingram has been the center of interviews along with Hayden and Ewan instead of Rupert Friend, ask yourself why that is if he, as Grand Inquisitor is supposedly the leader? During interviews, she might have let slip some insider info on the script as she refers to herself as "The Leader she is" also further making apparent that she will be overshadowing the other inquisitors, including its supposed true leader. This isn't a bad thing, though she admitted to not being a fan or knowing anything about Star Wars, she seems enthusiastic about the role, and I personally don't think there is anything wrong with this, but it is just pretty blatantly apparent what is going on.

I'm a bit rusty on the Rebels #'s but I believe the first season was around 4bby & Kenobi is supposed to be 10bby if I'm remembering that right. Based on the promo materials & the leaks it doesn't seem like the Grand Inquisitor is going to be doing much heavy lifting, that'll fall on Reva. He's basically being included for continuity's sake. Since we already know the latter portion of his story, there's not a lot of room on the table for him in this series like there is for an unknown character.

    Edit: people have been underestimating him in the replies so let me remind you that VADER HIMSELF stated that The Grand Inquisitor has skill in terms of lightsaber dueling, and this was before the Grand Inqusitor studied all 7 forms of lightsaber combat from the souce itself and that is deepest archives, he is also strong in the force, he could literally make himself float for a second with the force, an impressive feat . Not only his strengths, but also his smarts is worth mentioning, he is a fairly great analyst and knows how to play mind games. And the rest of the Inquisitors were no where close, as in the Rebels it was shown after his death the Inquisitors have to prove themselves for the status of the Grand Inquisitor, meaning the Grand Inquisitor is special and isn't easy to just get replaced, because afterall he is essentially Darth Sidious' back up apprenctice. Canon Inquisitors are former Jedi who have been tortured or otherwise mentally broken and turned to the Dark Side, but they are not Sith.

    The Fifth Brother was a brute who cared more about the hunt rather than strategy. On the other hand, the Seventh Sister was intelligent, given her affinity for technology. Most of her failures were attributed to the Fifth Brother’s slip ups.

    I think when powerscaling the Inquisitors it’s important to note that a good portion of them went out against Ahsoka, Maul or Vader, some of the strongest force users of their time. Interestingly enough The GI and 2nd Sister who are (imo rightfully) ranked number 1 and 2 on this list probably have the worst showings in their respective final battles amongst all the Inquisitors. Most of the Inquisitors were probably around the level of a Jedi Knight with a very selected few either scraping at Jedi Master level or even being low Jedi Master level. When you take the circumstances of their demises into consideration (eg. death by punishment or allowing themselves to die) as well as the people they meet their ends against, it kinda shows that they weren’t as “incompetent” as many people believe.

    Actually pretty impressive how Cal Kestis did when you realize how powerful his opponents actually were and take into account that he never finished his Jedi training (+ that he survived another 5 years after being put on Vaders Map)
    I think the reason that Cal is that powerful when fighting Inquisitors is actually the fact that he didn't finish his training. During some interview (I don't know which one anymore) Cameron Monaghan (Cal's actor) said that he portrayed Cal's fighting style as a bit more rough and aggressive than most other Jedi which he get's because he is no fully trained Jedi and therefore learns some of his skills only after the Order has already fallen and while surviving the years after Order 66 which would obviously make him more rough as he didn't learn the more nuanced ways to fight.
    In the end I think that not fully fighting like a Jedi would normally is probably a plus when fighting former Jedi that then have been trained to kill Jedi.

    • @danielcurado5261
      @danielcurado5261 Рік тому +6

      i think the fact he was a Padawan during the Clone Wars also plays a factor. Before the wars, Jedi did not receive as much combat training as they once did, due to having settled into the role of peacekeepers and diplomats. Combat was basically an afterthought in Jedi training. But during the Clone Wars, it would be safe to assume that Masters focused on combat training a lot more extensively for their Padawans, and Cal also saw active duty alongside his Master, much like Ahsoka did with Anakin. Thus it does make sense that Cal is a pretty good fighter even though his training was unfinished

    • @baki484
      @baki484 Рік тому +1

      Actually the jedi council noticed Cal showed promise especially with the lightsaber unfortunately he he could not handle adversity which is why he was Jaro Tapal's student a lesson we see Jaro Tapal and Cere throughout the game. If the starwars brotherhood novel is anything to go by he was already padawan at the beginning of the clone wars. Given his use of the saber staff and jar Kai it seems that Jaro did train him how to wield a lightsaber beyond the basics. His "aggression" is actually how form 1 works it's style known for being unpredictable and users are of it are known to be reckless it also has a strong emphasis of disarming the opponent like disarming the 9th sister literally and trilla remarked on his stance which is a form 1 ready stance blade held across the shoulder. As he gets comfortable he move to Nieman a form that's perfect for those out of practice seen by his use of force attacks into his sequences and pieces of form 1,3,4 and both variants of form 5.

One of my friends and I are in a Star Wars themed D&D campaign, and my friend’s character is an inquisitor who, wearing samurai style inquisitor armor and a matching scar, hunting down my character who has this sort of ninja thing going with him (like in the way of how versatile he is and how fast he moves. I can literally attack 4 times in one turn and move 60ft on battle grids as well as being able to chuck thermal detonators at everything with some serious deadliness. He dresses as if he’s a different version Kyle Katarn, but not actually knowing who Kyle is).
    My friend’s character wields two inquisitor sabers that can connect/detach for an unpredictable fighting style. My character has a double bladed lightsaber, but when he uses one blade, he fights as if he was wielding a nagamaki (which is used by samurai) since his saber staff is abnormally long for someone his size.

      And Starkiller was purposefully trained to be able to take on Jedi Masters while 4 Inquisitors would probably be toast if they took on a Master.

      @@scoutman66 4 fanfiction inquisitors yes, but real canon inquisitors were actually very much a threat. Adalric Brandl, Valin Draco and Jerec were all powerful fighters, and Jerec is known to have killed at least one Jedi Master.

    Fantastic List! Even the underwear ad was top shelf🤣 Considering Ashoka wrecks any inquisitors she encounters ,and so does the Darth Maul, leads me to think that they are lower tier fighters. Usually they’re backed up by Storm Troopers or each other. They were also pursuing out of practice, jaded, scared, former Jedi on the run. In a fair fight against any Master, pre-Order 66 ,these inquisitors would be lunch meat. General Grievous was an inquisitor before it was cool😎
