As a mom, I truly hate to say I go through this. I have a 27 an 34 year old that think I have to support them for life. God i pray for them an wish them the best. After 27 years of working with disabled people an 11 surgeries. I deserve the best things, including peace of mind. Kirk keep your chin up, You got this an God has you.

The parent is not always right and the child is not always right. I know sometimes you have to cut off family because they're toxic. However family is sacred to me so if they can hopefully things will workout.
I think this is the key. Both parents AND children can be toxic. I walked away from toxic family members. We don’t have any context behind who is the toxic one. All we can do is pray!

I think what is sad that we assume this young man was a bad person. When we look back at photos his son was never included in any of Kirk family portrait with Kirk and Tammy children. Any person that takes Christianity seriously... the first thing you learn when you get saved is to let no corrupt communication proceed out of thy mouth. That's literally the basics. I grew up in a very religious household both sides of my family... I got plenty of beatings and verbal lashings.. but not once did any of my parents or grandparents use swear words. Cursing folks out is not the norm in every black house hold, and it doesn't make somebody soft just because they didn't grow up in household full of swearing.. I think parents who don't swear are actually more strict and resort to physical discipline a lot faster than those who do swear.

I've had to explain to people that my silence is truly the best option. I don't want to say something that can't be unsaid and if you take me there... I CAN GO THERE 4 REAL ON YA! So I will consciously shut down. There have been things said to me, that completely altered my relationship with said person. I could no longer look at him without hearing those words and thus had no more feelings whatsoever for that person because I learned their true heart. Ricky I've followed your career from BET's comic view until the present .Ive supported your career and will remain to do so. Im somewhat disappointed with your premise and position on the Franklin family. I've seen and heard you over the years how passionate you were about the love of your grandfather and how he mentor you and advised you . It was one on one mentorship . Years and years of talking to you. I watched how you valued the times you would spend with him and spend quality time and leave with smile . We need to be careful and not patronized our artist /celebrities because we favor their gifts and abilities and skills to appeal to us . In Our culture we're quick to reference the thought that material things out weigh the intangible moments that are irreplaceable. Kirk has been a blessing to people across this world. We must remember Jesus himself went after the one lost sheep who went astray. At times our faith will throw a curve ball that we cant see and test us to see what we are really made of. Bishop Jakes said something years ago that I will hold to my grave . " Life is like a class. You either past the class and graduate or your destine to repeat it again. " As people looking outside in we don't know what trigger this long feud but I pray for this vessel and his son to discover that middle passage of peace that surpasses the understanding of men.

Ummm, I find no fault with Kirk poppin off!! I have a bunch of kids and they're great ones. But evvvvery now n then, they drive me to cuss too. I don't care how old my kids are, I will get square with them if needed. Something happened to make it escalate to that point. Kirk is human...not perfect...just forgiven...so is his son.
