I heard Kirk cussed his son out and I didn't even bother to listen to the tape. I was like "And?" Kids can push you right over the edge at times. Nobody is perfect and sometimes they need to be cussed out. Especially those that only contact you when they want something.

I'm a mother of 4 grown children, a son and 3 daughters and I will say that I've been there a time or two. It hurts you as a parent to go there with your child. I felt Kirk's emotions and it just hurt my heart. Rickey, I appreciate your honesty, and all that you do and have done for others. Some are just thankful that someone did something for them and some no matter how much you do , it's never enough. Prayers for us all it's a tough job being parents. Love from TN

I have been told 3 times this week that my son is in here calling me bitches and stepping in my face because I spoiled him. His anger is out of control and I have tried everything. I aint kissing no ass that still got afterburner on his damn lips. Im over these kids. You want a hard knock that get it out the mud life you got it. This touch so close to home.
His son is a grown man, he got handled accordingly. You never know the amount of hurt a child of yours can inflict on you, by disrespecting you, until you have a child that does. It's an unimaginable feeling.

Mannn, I wished my dad gave me a car and sent me to college when I was 18. Instead he told me the same bullshit baby boomers do, "your a man now. Get out and get ur own place.?" At 18 years old!!!! I'm 45 now. Those years in my 20s were very hard. So it pisses me off when I hear stories of selfish spoiled boys behaving this way towards their dads
I feel your pain and know it must've been hard for a good portion of your life. This is kind of long but I wish that my parents had been like your dad was because my brother is 41 and has nothing going for himself, including no job in 14 years......YES 14 YEARS. I have another brother also and we are both doing fine and have tried getting the other one to man-up but it's a waste of energy. I told him to just let him be and let the chips and karma fall wherever. He was given the opportunity to go to college like we were but he dropped out after a couple of semesters. Then quit his job years later and hasn't worked since then. He's bad with money (never had money saved, never maintained a bank account and never paid bills), no friends and a bad attitude if we bring up the word JOB to him. He also gets an attitude with my mom if she asks him to do certain things. But she acts like his situation is no big deal and even lies to family and friends if they ask about him. She makes it seem like he's doing as good as me and my other brother. I'm not bragging about how the two of us are doing because, trust me, we struggled to get what we have now. However, we took advantage of the opportunity to graduate from college, work and live at home for a while after graduating to save money and prepare for dealing with the harsh world. But my brother chooses to just mooch while my mom lets him. My parents divorced when we were young and my dad moved across the country a few years after it was finalized. He really didn't spend time or discipline him at all so it was all on my mom. But I feel like my brother is the type that needed someone like your dad in his life because look at how he turned out. My mom has enabled him into a 41 year old 10 year old. Matter of fact, some 10 year olds are doing mich better than him and don't have bratty, spoiled, entitled attitudes like my brother does. So maybe your dad was trying to avoid you turning out like this and this is the only way that he knew how to do it. Imagine if you were 45 and in my brother's situation. 😔

I'm so glad that have my Dad around still. He's been through heart surgery in December. Sometimes in the moment during the past I got mad at my Dad but learn not to raise my voice at him or yell. I don't want to do anything stupid that I would regret for the rest of my life. I'm just making sure no matter what, I want to always respect my Dad and my Mom and respect the elders. I been taking my Dad to his appointments and helping him out and I enjoy it. It's help me to develop relationships. I would take him to the store too and also get coffee together. I'm 36 years old but I am proud to spend as much time with Dad. This message is reminding me to continue to be good to my Dad and keep doing what I'm doing. My Mom appreciate for what I'm doing with my Dad.

Kirk cursed his son out, Kirk apologized for it....Kirk owned everything he did and how he felt he should have handled it. Now if anything, if Kirk' s son followed in his Dad's doorsteps...this situation wouldn't be a topic of conversation. I applaud Kirk for being what many men need to do, step up to the plate and be a father, but then again that's what real men do. In a way, I'm glad that this happened to Kirk. No, I'm not happy that he's going through it with his son but what I mean is that I'm relieved to know that so many others are going through these situations on a daily. I don't feel alone and can vent knowing others are in similar situations. Your son is 24 so you still have time to do what my mom should have done. And that is........cuss him out and put him out (that is, of he's still living with you). Out of the 3 of us, my 41 year old brother is still acting like a spoiled, entitled, bra. He hasn't worked in 14 years, dropped out of college, quite his job and lives at home with our mom. He will get an attitude with her if she asks him to do certain things like pick up branches that fall from the tree or if she doesn't bring him a snack he likes when she goes grocery shopping. Plus, is she mentions anything about a job, he'll walk off or start sighing loudly to let her know that he doesn't want to hear it. But she enables him to be this way so me and my other brother just let them be. Eventually, karma will come for my mom for showing favoritism towards him and it will come to him for being disrespectful and mooching all of these years.

I just now saw this, and it is so awesome, I had to watch it a couple more times. There’s just something about watching a grown man not only stand up for his friend, but also tell people to send him the smoke for awhile, especially when it’s someone famous.
