I can't believe these award shows have been snubbing her... Stephanie Hsu was so amazing in EEAAO. She really drove the movie alongside Michelle. She deserves her flowers!!
And finally Oscar noticed her. So so so happy for her nomination.
It's called good old fashion racism
Right? She made Juju Chewbacca be at Ledger's Joker's level she killed it!!!
She was so good at femme. But i don’t think she has been snubbed. “Snubbed” goes to Michelle who has been snubbed for decades
EEAAO sounds dumb
I really like her vibe. She seems really down-to-earth and like a girl-next-door. Very friendly and humble.
So cool 😎
exceptionally eloquent
@@karylcate684
Agree.
And simultaneously entertaining - radiating charisma + positive energy.
everyone with a heart will cry at that parking lot scene
Glad that Hsu is at least getting some nods. While Yeoh was expected to blossom like a rose - and she did - Hsu was like that cactus flower, you didn't know who she was coming to see the film, only to be blown away by her performance at the end.
i love the way she greets with joining both of her hands as in namaste !!!!!!!!
“I played a computer on broadway”
she played karen the computer in spongebob, which is the role i’m playing in my high school production of the show lol
Definitely going to watch this. She is just delightful!!
gosh i finally got to see her!!!!!!
Men she deserves all the awards for her role and portrayal! I hope she wins the Oscar
She is very beautiful..😍🥰
Beware the nihilism bagel.
Because when you really put everything in a bagel...
@@NotInTheFace111 It becomes the truth......
Nothing....matters....
All the pain and guilt of making nothing of your life goes....away
I’m guessing I’d have had to see the movie.
Hsu was incredible in this amazing film. Honored to be peed on by a rat is not something you hear everyday.
"I played a computer on Broadway."
She is downplaying that role so bad because she's talking about her amazing stint as Karen the Computer, the wife of Sheldon J. Plankton in the SpongeBob SquarePants Musical.
Stephanie better get that Oscar nom!!!! the Academy needs to pay attention.
I hope the movie becomes a cult classic! I’d like to see it in the theaters once a year!
As a second generation asian girl the movie did all what they mentioned but even more. It felt like a love letter to those stuck in between cultures that don't necessarily understand the reason behind parents decisions and because of that end up drifting from them in their teenage years, only to ridiscover and find that the truth lays on the deep and untouchable value of family. Most immigrant parents don't have the mind or luxury to nurish sweet talk and patience. So the child born in a western culture where gentle parenting is a thing feel unloved, misunderstood and unseen
Thank you for sharing this and adding a layer to my understanding of my friends. Thank you.
Weird Michelle Yo
Can definitely relate 🙌
I suppose Joy Luck Club for the new second-generation.
It's crazy that you say that because I was just watching an interview (The Pivot with Charlamagne tha God) and that subject came up. I noticed that this is also something that child of immigrants from different ethnicities/nationalities mention as well (being raised with such a high bar without gentle parenting).
I'm not trying to minimize the Asian experience, but simply trying to say how relatable and universal that subject is to our generation. Parenting isn't easy. Adulting is difficult as well, but when you throw in the pressures our parents faced in a society that didn't (and still doesn't) welcome or champion them, it helps provide context as to why they thought and acted the way they did.
She is a joy to watch and such an excellent actor.
haha, joy.
I see what you did there
She is a Joy Wang
She is a Jobu Tupaki to watch...
I don't think this movie is for everybody. But man, I wish everyone was open to its message. It is full of empathy and kindness. I am tearing up even writing this. You are not unlovable! There is always something to love! #whatwouldwaymonddo
gosh yes
Well there is a pair of weapons and a set of trigger items that definitely exclude some people from watching those scenes. LOL
@johncampbell756 I meant it might be to whacky for some. But yeah, that too lol
Even in a stupid universe where we have hotdogs for fingers, we’d get very good with our feet.
totally
Everything Everywhere All at Once is a mastercraft, and Stephanie Hsu’s performance is brilliant in every way. She deserves all the recognition.
Why you support Donald trump
I just watched this movie for the first time and I cried like a baby
Absolute ugly crying here. Give these people their awards
I watched it twice and cried both times. I even watched some watch-along youtubers and cried yet again. This movie, and Stephanie Hsu, is amazing.
It takes viewers to an unexpected place. I had no idea what was happening at times though it made me laugh, had me in awe but the relationship between mom & daughter took me by surprise. Very emotional
If you don't cry watching it then you're a psychopath, I swear
@@KarlwithaC my mom didn't cry but I think it's because she had no clue what was going on so she checked out right away lol
"So, Even Though You Have Broken My Heart Yet Again, I Wanted To Say, In Another Life, I Would Have Really Liked Just Doing Laundry And Taxes With You"
This movie meant so much to me- and it was not even about my culture. But as someone who grew up in different cultures there was a certain familiarity in how it explores familial and romantic relationships, and community. It struck a chord with me, and every time I rewatch it I cry like its the first time because it finds balance between that familiarity and the surreal. I hope that for years to come people tell Stephanie Hsu about how incredible her performance is, raw, real and emotionally tense with heart and laughter along the way.
I know it's still early... but I've never seen a comment section with so little hate. Lol. This movie was great and her performance is not to be understated. She feels like the emotional linchpin.
even people who don't like this movie love Stephanie Hsu. She's just such a good vibe
How dare you!
same lol
I need them to recognize her talent and put her in more films because man she is such a breakout star!
She’s one if the most articulate individuals i’ve ever seen!
SHE NEEDS TO BE NOMINATED FOR THE OSCAR AND WIN
She got nominated. ❤️
@@OscarOrtega13 I KNOWWW IM SO HAPPY 😭😭😭
BUT WHY DO WE HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN HER AND JAMIE LEE CURTIS! I'm so glad they both got the credit they deserve nevertheless
She’s so great. Go look up her audition tape for Everything Everywhere if you’ve not seen it - as incendiary as she is in the movie, when you see her do it without the sets & the costumes & all the paraphernalia (that makes the film so unique & amazing), you can really see just how much she brought to that performance. Truly mesmerising. Love her. 🥯
EEAAO needs to return to theaters with all the awards it’s getting. Also, congrats to Stephanie on her Oscar nomination along with Jamie, Michelle and Ke. They totally deserve it. I’m so happy for them.
I would love this, missed the chance to see it in theatre and would jump
IT'S RETURNED AT AMC FOR 5 BUCKS THE TICKET
she did an amazing job playing multiple personalities in EEAO. definitely deserves all the accolades coming her way.
she deserved so many more awards and nominations for this incredible performance but I can’t wait to see what she does next
I wish I was half as well-spoken as she is. If only all talk show guests were as enthusiastic and articulate.
Wow the fact it was completed just as the lockdown happened is amazing because especially the Ke Huy Quan speech seemed perfectly aimed at the pandemic and how scary and uncertain things became. I would have thought it was written for the pandemic times.
There was SARS and other smaller pandemics that happened
Every scene Stephanie Hsu is in is worthy of cinematic documentation.
I hope she gets a million roles but also comes back to broadway at some point too, she's so great.
I’m so glad Stephanie is finally getting her flowers
She is so lovely! I have been so happy for her, Ke, Michelle, and Jamie Lee for all of the acting recognition they are receiving for this beautiful film.
I'm so glad they picked that clip from the movie to introduce Stephanie.
And now I can't imagine this movie w/o Stephanie or any of the other cast members. Michelle Yeoh revealed in her CBS Sunday Morning interview that her part was originally written for a man & Jackie Chan passed on it.
Jackie Chan is probably looking at the reviews and reception and is kicking his own a$$ for not doing it.
I love Jackie Chan, but I think he knew this was not the role for him. Him passing on it was a blessing to the film..and I'm sure he's happy for the success of his friends.
One of the most amazing films I've ever seen in over 60 yrs. of loving movies.
I am so happy to see how far she has come from first hearing about her in the cast of Be More Chill to being in huge Hollywood movies and tv!
Sooooooo pleased she's getting the praise she so richly deserves for that performance. Absolutely insane.
OSCAR NOMINATED ACTRESS STEPHANIE HSU!!
She should be winning all the awards by now.
These award shows are nominating Jamie Lee instead of her and it makes no sense at all
@@janb92 She just got nominated for an oscar.
@@shadysorkin9214 this is the first big nomination all award season……..
@@janb92 It's the only nomination that matters for her career though. I'm sure she's not too bothered.
@@shadysorkin9214 I disagree as the Oscar’s aren’t the only major award show that matters. The Oscar’s specifically have been losing viewers and accountability because of the controversies.
I watched this movie on a Delta flight and definitely ugly cried the last 20 minutes.
i'm sorry but if joaquin phoenix can win an oscar portraying the joker, then stephanie is a HSU-IN for one too. her villain is WAY more interesting, dynamic and badass.
Underrated comment!
I haven’t seen this film…but I get chills any time I see any trailer or clips. A bit nervous to see it to be honest and know I’ll be a crying mess. It just seems to strike a nerve that I can’t explain…yet. I am mentally trying to prepare myself for getting to see it…such a privilege to get to interact with art like this!
GORL i am jealous of you that you haven't seen it! to be able to given the chance to see this all over again without knowing anything about it is my fantasy.
@@samisfun868 😅 I hear you!…truly there’s only a handful of movies I feel this way about! They come along once in a blue moon…it’s like they shift your soul am I right?! There is the you before you watch and the you after…altered forever! 😆
You're in for a ride. And don't worry, if you're like me, you're bound to cry and laugh the next time you watch EEAAO. This is a movie that somehow rewards repeated viewing
@@andohlea i would say watch it with a group of friends. its really a movie made to be viewed collectively with people to validate the emotions you are feeling. if not, just trust your feelings. dont be afraid to go to places emotionally where the movie takes you and dont doubt them. as long as you have an open mind, you'll love it. this movie is a therapy session for me.
Don't worry, it is not a sad movie cry, but a "the dog is died" cry, or a Schindler's List cry. It is a hopeful cry, I would never think of it as a negative cry. It is a "I'm too emotional" but in a good way" kind of cry.
Just let it
Academy Award Nominee STEPHANIE HSU
She was superb in Everything..... , she deserves all the buzz she's getting and even more.
I was one of those people in the audience balling my eyes out because of that movie. It was the best, weirdest, most briliant ride I'd been on in years. I wish that I had seen it more than once on the big screen.
Stephanie Hsu is delightful. What a fun, intelligent, 'original'!
im SO glad to see her getting the attention she deserves!! i have loved her since her broadway days and it is incredibly satisfying to see her doing such incredible work.
She is the mother that I never had, the sister that I've wanted, and the friend that everyone needs
wow she looks sooo good. So funny to have seen the film last year and now it's getting revitalized with the award season. They deserve it. And It's what I'm craving as a fan of the movie.
This woman should absolutely be in Oscar conservations and one of the strongest contenders in the supporting actress category. Both Ke and Michelle were amazing, but Stephanie’s performance in EEAAO was so mesmerising. She was hands down my fave.
Her performance in the movie was otherworldly.
She's great. Wish her much success with future acting gigs.
Everyone who worked on that movie deserve all the accolades they are receiving. That movie was a wild ride.
I LOVE STEPHANIE!!! SO TALENTED, SO FUNNY AND SO INCREDIBLY DESERVING OF ALL THIS SUCESS!!! WE STANNN
This woman has the most joyful and beautiful smile!
EEAAO is really creative and expertly executed. I loved it.
i fucking love this movie so much. i felt clean afterward. the bagel honestly touched on my phobia.
The Little Hours is another movie that surprised with how much it touched me
Jobu Tupaki has entered the chat and we love it 👏🏽
She seems like such a great person, wishing her much continued success.
I told everyone to watch it, nobody believed me it was that good. 1St movie Ive given a 10 out of 10 to in more than 20 years..congrats congrats I FN loved every second of it. My GF laughed at it (sausage fingers scene), she never laughs, so that happened
the best sentence for me to explain Stephanie Hsu act in Everything Everywhere is "Sucked into a bagel. . . "
She's beautiful, cute and quirky. Sigh!
I love this gal and how she paints pictures with her words. Never thought I’d be imagining that Michelle Yeoh who seems the consummate professional would also have a freak flag to fly!
I love her. I hope she gets her flowers this awards season.
Stephen please have Ke Huy Quan on! I'm sponging up all his awards speeches and interviews!
She was great in the Everything movie 🔥👌
I LOVE this movie and its message. And Stephanie gives a knockout performance.
Also shoutout to another Asian American being on late night!
I'm so glad this movie continues to resonate!
Stephan: "One of your co-star is a pig."
Stephanie: "It's not that one."
🤣😂🤣😂
SUCH powerful women in this film! SO amazing. LOVE Stephanie Hsu!
Hsu Hsu - you are too cute. So articulate and funny and personable in all the interviews I've seen of her. Love her so much!
She was great in Mrs maisel
**Oscar Nominated Actor Stephanie Hsu :D
Thank god! One of the best things I have ever seen!
It's strange that she is by far the most sublime actor in the film and yet her co-stars are winning the awards!
What a great personality!!
One of the best movies that I've ever seen.❤
I hope she wins Oscar ❤ also looking forward to see how her career goes from here.
She's been involved in a number of brilliant performances, but my favorite will be always be her as young Shu Shu in 'Nora from Queens'.
She just got an Oscar nomination LETSGOOOO!!
So well deserved
I’m still upset because she should have been nominated for all the other awards too and has been getting snubbed for Jamie Lee
@@janb92 Problem is, there's just strong competition this year. Not just Jamie Lee Curtis, but Kerry Condon, Janelle Monae, Keke Palmer, Angela Bassett, and Hong Chau are all getting tons of nominations as well
@@romilrh my point is why is Jamie competing at all when stephanie had a bigger role and more to do. Jamie does deserve the accolades but not getting these nominations over the actual villain of the movie…….
@@janb92 uhhh that's because the Oscars judges acting, not the impact of the role in the film 😂
@@romilrh ……and stephanie’s acting is arguably better, so you’re still not making a point.
Stephanie is so likable
This was my first movie in the theater after the pandemic and it was the most perfect brilliant one for it!!!💛🌭👀✨️
She’s hilarious in Akwafina is Nora From Queens as Shu Shu!
For me, Stephanie should WIN the Oscar! 🏆🎥♥️👏
Such an amazingly beautiful movie!!!
I love Jamie but it makes literally no sense that Jamie is getting nominations over her……….
I have tell my mother about this movie...she has cable, and loves this kind of stuff, but hey so do i! And well, just for Michelle Yeoh anyways...I hope this young lady wins the award...that performance was incredible.
She was amazing on everything everywhere all at once.
She is sweet person. Best wishes ☆☆☆☆
I hope one day we can have traditions that don’t involve animal murder. That aside, this movie was incredible and all the actors were 10/10.
She did a fantastic job on Ms Maisel!
much better in that series.
Courtney Love was also one of the very few to call out Harvey Weinstein before #metoo
Congratulations to Stephanie on a well-deserved Oscar nom!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
And wishing her all the best!😊
I adore Stephanie! The minute she showed up in Mrs. Maisel, I was like, "I'm all in and I want MORE"!!!
She was excellent in the film, and I hope she gets all the recognition she deserves because the movie wouldn't have been as good without her outstanding performance!
It was a fun and emotional trip. As someone who grew up in the 80s & 90s, I think it's cool of Stephanie to channel CL -- some may be triggered by it -- but they'll live 🤣💙👏
I knew CL in the early 90ts and she's a horrible person on every level.
they will 'live through this' (get it?) lol
@@MothGirl007 wow, can u tell us why? I've heard some rumors about her but I would like to know your experiences with her I'm genuinely curious
She’s now also an OSCAR NOMINEE!!!! 😭😭😭
