Man, I have never cried so openly at the end of a movie. Or the entirety on a rewatch. Or during any post-film interviews. Or while reading that the film, cast, and crew won awards. Or even got nominated for awards.
EEAAO is such a masterpiece, and that term should never be used lightly.

I feel like I watched a different movie when people spaff on about EEAAO. It was so boring and ridiculous I was counting the minutes til it ended. The whole conceit about Evelyn being the greatest underachiever and therefore the one person to save the universe was the most ridiculous inversion of a narrative trope I've ever witnessed - I literally groaned when it was painstakingly explained. Just garbage.

@@grantc61 I think everyone is touched by a different aspect of the movie. I didn't care much for Evelyn saving the universe either, but Joy being pushed too hard, to the point of being depressed and suicidal in all universes, really resonated with me. Evelyn learning to see the beauty and goodness in everyone around her was a beautiful aspect of the movie too, because how often do we see multiverse/superhero movies where the protagonist fights with love and kindness?

Legendary actress Linda Hunt once said, “There was an Indonesian phrase in the film (A Life Of Living Dangerously), which translates into English as “Water From The Moon.”, and it means that which is an attainable……..the impossible…. that which one can never have or know”. Michelle Yeoh is the water from the moon….40 years of impeccable contributions to the industry and in the world of cinema. Her sole performance in this cleverly brilliant and ingenious film by the Daniels, “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, is a masterpiece of sincere emotion. She gives a landmark performance. It is both death-defying and emotionally powerful-an increasingly rare combination. I’d compare her to a bottle of fine wine, she’s constantly evolving and gaining complexity….. I hope the academy voters would give this incomparable actress this once in a lifetime opportunity to be the first asian actress to win the top honour.

Just absolutely stunning. Have adored Michelle Yeoh since Dragon (which she absolutely murdered). Whether she completes the trifecta (she's already won the Golden Globe & SAG) or not doesn't matter since she's already won our hearts.

3:00 to me, that's the essence of the movie. Even before she was a superhero, she was extraordinary in her everyday life.

I'm so happy for Michelle that she's won the hearts and minds of everyone in tinseltown! As a Chinese Singaporean, I really have waited for this day for an Asian actress to get this much mainstream focus in Hollywood! It really is super super cool! Also, totally commend the band for playing a riff on the opening tune from a famous Chinese song 'Bu Liao Qing' ua-cam.com/video/r9HyJCKeJbY/v-deo.html

Watched this immediately after seeing EEAAO for the first time on bluray, and it was amazing. I have not been affected by a movie that deeply in ages. Michelle Yeoh is transcendent, literally and figuratively. It's her showing that she could be everything at once, or just as ordinary as every person out in the world, at the same time. Amazing. Just incredibly affecting. The nomination is overdue, but absolutely deserved.
