Ke needs to have a second renaissance where he is casted in a bunch of movies. Jamie Lee was right when we were robbed of his acting excellence for decades. Also everybody is so gracious in this video considering we have two legendaries
I'm so glad she and Michelle look their ages with all of the wrinkles etc. Idk why but it makes me so happy as it's not common for Hollywood to cast older women who are not afraid to AGE like everyone else, as most look so plastic and uncanny by the time they get to 35. Smh
As an Asian kid growing up in the 80’s.. Every Asian kid wanted to be like Ke growing up and I am so glad to see him onscreen again!!! We all will feel like Jamie experiencing his performance after decades!
One of the best films I've ever seen. Completely blew me away. Jamie Lee wasn't being hyperbolic in saying there's probably not another actor alive besides Michelle Yeoh that could've played this part (given all the esoteric physical requirements) This is seriously the highest echelon of filmmaking we can offer today. I'm hoping this movie will do well, smash the box office and win a couple Oscars but.. :(
I mean I honestly can’t think of another Asian actress that has good enough English that could pull of doing her own stunts and still play a convincing 60 year old woren down immigrant now if the race had been Spanish I might take issue but Michelle was definitely right for this
"Everything Everywhere All at Once" was so fucking bad. The line were so incredibly cliché, the 'humor' was for 12-year old permanently online "random = funny XDDDD" kids, the 'philosophy' was the most drab and overused optimistic nihilism, the ending was one big eye-roll fest ("family and love saves the dayyyy"), the characters were incredibly ugly and uncharismatic, the sci-fi gimmick makes no sense and is inconsistent in its own universe, it is intentionally filled with cringe, the plot is just all filler and the end is very drawn out, the action makes no impact because everything is possible so the audience cannot care (if they think for just a few seconds), etc...
@@miguelus.81 I’m awed and proud at how he just straight up said that he was sick of missing the action. Daniel Kwan: We like to leave mistakes in for the fans to notice. Michelle Yeoh: Oh is that why the movie looks like that? I LAUGHED SO HARD she is so great. I love this cast so much they are all such amazing people and talented wonderful performers.
I hope the rocks get nominated for best supporting actors. I've never been emotional over a pair or rocks going over a cliff. This is a testament of how profound and special this movie was. The rocks made me cry! Rocks!
For me part of the effect of the rocks was the silent captioning. No music, no surplus energy, just stillness. You could feel the shift in the theater, it was a vulnerable moment for the audience. Exrtemely raw and heartbreaking.
I think Dwayne Johnson played the main actor in Black Adam, and I don't think his acting is that effective to get nominated, but kudos that he made you cried man.
I saw her on Maisel and was instantly mesmerized by her, leading lady chops and charisma for sure, so when I saw her in this movie i knew she would be be at the level of the hype and fellow actresses.
Ke's performance touched me, these past 2 years I feel have hardened me and his performance was a reminder to chose to be vulnerable, sweet and happy. It speaks to the msg of this film as well.
Big same. I've always been bright side optimist that believes kindness goes a long way. Somewhere along the way I felt like that was being taken advantage of and it also hardened me. Ke is an inspiration.
You said exactly how I felt when I watched Ke's performance this weekend. I'm very close to losing my sweet and happy side lately. There's something about Ke that makes me what to hold on.
I cannot believe this was six hours before the world premiere, and now, it is the most awarded movie in history including seven Oscars and they truly did not know then. I love them all
I really hope that the movie and the actors get the recognition they deserve. I will be very disappointed if it gets no nods for an Oscar. It deserves so many.
Really heartbreaking to hear 14:00. Ke Huy Quan was arguably one of the best parts about the movie, his character imbued the story so much love and heart. An obvious standout performance.
12:40-16:45 is one of the best Hollywood stories I’ve ever heard. Man has two of the most iconic cinematic roles of all time and comes back and right off the bat drops another one. 👑
I live in Mexico, and we’re usually known for weird, or noisy crowds in these ‘’small’’ movies, small meaning not Star Wars, marvel, fast and furious, etc… And usually there’s people joking around, they’re not even paying attention to the movie, they’re on their phone, laughing in the quiet moments or stuff… … it was dead silent throughout the whole rock scene… And that told me exactly just how attentive everyone was… How captivating the scene was, even if it was absurd in essence, everything around it, and the theme it touched upon, really resonated with the audience. And I had never seen that here… Such a good movie. Definitely an instant classic.
I like how all of them are oscar nominees now. Best actress, best supporting actor, best supporting actress (×2), best picture, best director, best original screenplay. It just makes me happy.
This was the most original movie I've seen in years. It was immensely entertaining and the acting was top notch. I'm speechless, it was unlike anything I've ever seen and yet it resonated deeply with me. See this movie!!!
LOVE how incredibly intelligent JLC was with her questions PLUS how passionate and compassionate she was with her team. just such an amazing person AND ms Yeoh. not enough can be said about her. the oscars need to recognize this movie and the team many times over during next years awards.
I don't say this about a lot of movies. But this one was a masterpiece. It was the same way I felt watching Hamilton on Broadway the first time. Just the realization that you're watching so different so interesting so incredibly well thought out, well executed, and masterful. To me whether you liked it or not, you can never deny its a masterpiece
7:41 "You will get used to it, honey." Absolute boss Jamie. She understands how other actors/actresses that are humble feel when getting complimented. So, she is comforting Michelle that it is alright to get complimented. Even more amazing is how Michelle despite with such a huge track record is still so humble and feels shy getting complimented. Her parents did a great job in her upbringing.
When I went to see this movie I had no idea what I was getting into. Afterwards, I couldn't wait to go see it again. Like I told my son, I want this movie to succeed on two fronts. One, to be successful, the other, have the success lead to more experimental and visually stunning films such as this one.
This movie is a modern absurdist masterpiece. It invokes such primal reaction, you feel it in your soul. The writing was visionary, the acting extraordinary, the effects were so complimentary. It’s a classic already
Core memory: during the rock scene my almost full cinema was dead quiet for that full minute or so…. I mean in a quiet scene in a packed cinema there’s always like the ruffles of popcorn or something, but in that moment I think everyone in that room was fully immersed lost in the moment, you could not even hear a pin drop. Such a good movie, Michelle performance of the year!!
@13:40. Yep Crazy Rich Asians has really opened the door wide open for non-kung fu Asian actors. Even the kung-fu parts of the film are more of a metaphor for the absurd rather than to be taken seriously. So happy to see Ke back in films and should be getting more work thanks to this.
I just watched this yesterday and oh my gosh I've never seen a movie something like this, I laughed and I cried, it's crazy but it is down to earth storyline that each and every one of us can relate to! Everyone, please go and watch!!
As an asian creative i am so touched by the ingenuity, rawness, and joy that I see wrapped up in this film. One of the best films I've seen in theaters, and I am so inspired to continue to open all aspects of the creative industries to asian voices! Grateful to find hope in times like these. Thank you Daniels, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu for all that you inspire me to be!!!
After listening to this interview, it's clear that this was the movie of a lifetime for all four of the actors, AND the directors, and apparently the test of the crew as well. I hope to have that kind of life-defining experience someday.
Watched this on 420, high as hell and it was the cheapest therapy session I've ever been to. So lovely and conducted with such patients, touches on nihilism, existential philosophy, I am in complete love with this movie. My absolute favorite movie, ever.
I wish Jamie Lee Curtis was my acting teacher. She is a wealth of knowledge and explains everything so well. Whether she knows it or not, she is iconic -- and much appreciated. ❤
Having now seen the movie, this is 100% going to be one of those movies where the cast and Daniels will be still talking about this movie 10, 20, 30 years from now because it's such a special film.
So is it weird that this movie has literally changed my life? From the performances, to design, to the comedy, to the direction, to the cgi, to the talent. Everything. Literally everything about this movie is insane, beautiful, creative, funny, and wonderful. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I watched this movie for the first time and it truly is just a trip and a half.
This movie... Is life-changing! My mom and I were crying, laughing, cringing, and were getting as many numerous feelings as the universes shown in this film. Incredible performances and moving story. My top film of the year!
Hsu saying her method dealing with stress is to just not register anything in the moment, and then to process it later, is incredible. Unlike all the other "Just Do It" comments out there, she outright says that the stress does NOT go away. Ultimately you need to process what has happened. What a breath of fresh air.
It’s refreshing and amazing to see a collective tribe of down to earth, kind, grateful and genuine talents come together. Greatness are bound to happen and it’s not random.

Gosh! Jaime lee Curtis was unrecognizable in this movie. It took me a while to realize it was her. Im a big fan ever since her True Lies film. This is the best and literally the best movie I have seen in decades!
Quan reminds me of a younger Jackie Chan. I didn' even realized he was that kid from Goonies and Temple of Doom. I keep thinking he must be Jackie Chan's cousin. I saw this movie last nite at the Regal in Stonestown San Francisco. It only has two showtimes, 6:45pm and 10:30pm. In contrast, Disney's Dr Strange had two screens and all the show times in the world. Because it was a Wed nite showing, I assumed I was walking into an empty theater of maybe 10 ppl. To my amazement, at least 50 ppl if not more showed up. Mostly kids in their early 20's and they loved it! I was overjoyed that they get this movie. Everybody was sniffing from all the crying.
After I got done watching the movie, I walked outside and took 20 minutes to contemplate everything and then walked right back in to watch the movie again. I've never done that before ever.
Jamie Lee Curtis giving the ultimate compliment to Michelle Yeoh: "Nobody else could do this part." That's incredible. From one legendary actor to another.
I watched it for Michelle and was blown away by her and the entire cat. Ke's acting was phenomenal. I remember thinking while watching him that he's a seasoned veteran actor with years of experience. Only to be surprised that its his first time again after 20 years.
This is now one of my favorite movies all time and this round table made me love it even more. The cast is so adorable, they really seem to be close. And Jamie’s comment to Ke was so sweet, made me tear up. Haven’t seen a film this original and entertaining in forever. So perfectly cast
First of all, Michelle Yeoh has been a beacon of joy, grace and elegance for as long as I can remember. To follow her comment on the evil twins though, as an identical twin myself, it's endearing that she can recognize these two Daniels as cohesive and basically symbiotic. I've battled my whole life with the idea of being my own person and separate from my twin but it's great to see that two individual people can meet minds and accomplish great things, in the presence and with direction to such a film legend as Michelle Yeoh.
Only Michelle Yeoh can deliver an amazing performance in one of the most demanding roles in recent times and sit quietly allowing everyone else to take the center stage. What an artist, what a wonderful human being.
This movie moved me in so many levels scene by scene. I came to the conclusion that I’m Waymond, my fighting is by seeing the good in everything and the positive in every negative situation. I felt alone in feeling this way… not anymore. Thank you to everyone involved in this movie 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I watched this movie in the theatre with my mom, it was absolutely amazing. I have never had a movie make me laugh and cry back and forth ever before. I can't wait to watch it again at home so I can cry like a baby LOL. Seriously epic feel good, emotional, action packed movie!!!
I went in completely blind on this movie and I never got to see the trailer and I'm so grateful for that but also, such a disservice to the trailer which is exquisite as well.
Watched this for the first time on 24 January 2023 - and what a treat to see the humbleness of this great cast and directors, the teamwork and love they radiate. The 11 nominations are well-placed, I'd say!
Obviously the entire cast was amazing but I haven't seen enough praise for Stephanie Hsu because holy shit her performance blew me away. Just subtle expression changes she used to show the feeling of apathy really just sinking into a person, felt very raw and real and she was just incredible I can't wait to see what she does next.

Ke needs to have a second renaissance where he is casted in a bunch of movies. Jamie Lee was right when we were robbed of his acting excellence for decades.
Also everybody is so gracious in this video considering we have two legendaries
I thought I was watching a young Jackie Chan through much of this movie. And the rest he was even better at.
True
Jamie Lee Curtis has aged so incredibly gracefully. She is a movie legend.
And so kind
Has she even aged? Like dang the only thing that changed is her hair color
I'm so glad she and Michelle look their ages with all of the wrinkles etc. Idk why but it makes me so happy as it's not common for Hollywood to cast older women who are not afraid to AGE like everyone else, as most look so plastic and uncanny by the time they get to 35. Smh
@@SoWhosGae I know! They look so amazing!
@@SoWhosGae here’s hoping it’s shifting. The best movie so far this year is a comedy fight movie starring two middle aged women haha
As an Asian kid growing up in the 80’s.. Every Asian kid wanted to be like Ke growing up and I am so glad to see him onscreen again!!! We all will feel like Jamie experiencing his performance after decades!
One of the best films I've ever seen. Completely blew me away.
Jamie Lee wasn't being hyperbolic in saying there's probably not another actor alive besides Michelle Yeoh that could've played this part (given all the esoteric physical requirements)
This is seriously the highest echelon of filmmaking we can offer today. I'm hoping this movie will do well, smash the box office and win a couple Oscars but.. :(
well it is smashing the box office :) at this point in time it's set to surpass Uncut Diamonds as A24's highest domestic earner
Oscars doesn´t mean anything nowadays, but yes, this is one of the best movies I´ve seen too
I mean I honestly can’t think of another Asian actress that has good enough English that could pull of doing her own stunts and still play a convincing 60 year old woren down immigrant now if the race had been Spanish I might take issue but Michelle was definitely right for this
"Everything Everywhere All at Once" was so fucking bad.
@@mouwersor You want to be different so bad 🥴
Never thought I'd see the stars of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Halloween and Memoirs of a Geisha all in one film. What legends!
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
The Goonies.
@@miguelus.81 I’m awed and proud at how he just straight up said that he was sick of missing the action. My THC laced mind wants to convince him to be in an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia as Frank’s ACTUAL bastard child, but he doesn’t want to be involved and would rather go back to a sweatshop in Vietnam.
Jamie Lee Curtis saying she loves CinemaSins is my Joker moment
Daniel Kwan: We like to leave mistakes in for the fans to notice.
Michelle Yeoh: Oh is that why the movie looks like that?
I LAUGHED SO HARD she is so great. I love this cast so much they are all such amazing people and talented wonderful performers.
Michelle Yeoh is like the scary Asian mother to the Daniels.
I love how Daniel Kwan mentioned CinemaSins! Hahaha I hope they know there’s also CinemaWins and it already made a video about the movie 😁
Just saw it. I don’t think any movie can top this one for the rest of the year. Can’t wait to see it again.
Same
10000% i get so EMMOTIONAL thinking about this dam movie. Work of art
I doubt another movie will ever resonate with me this much
Hey i'm still waiting for Babylon, i mean i love this movie, but we can't underestimated Damien Chazzele
it's almost the end of the year and you're absolutely fucking right
Wow Jamie’s words about Ke, and his story in his words her, just brought tears to my eyes. I love all these artists
Same here. In tears too.
Step Hsu is such a brilliant actress and comedian. Everything she’s on she literally slays. Nora from Queens, Marvelous Ms. Maisel, and now this.
She should have gotten an emmy for Shu Shu
I saw her on Maisel and was instantly mesmerized by her, leading lady chops and charisma for sure, so when I saw her in this movie i knew she would be be at the level of the hype and fellow actresses.
I absolutely love that you can see Jamie Lee Curtis just being a genuine loving person to her fellow castmates throughout this interview
Ke's performance touched me, these past 2 years I feel have hardened me and his performance was a reminder to chose to be vulnerable, sweet and happy. It speaks to the msg of this film as well.
💖💖
I cannot understate how much I NEED to see Stephanie Hsu’s audition tape
Wouldn't be that be 'overstate'?
It would be one killer charity fundraiser, for it to be released.
it’s out💀 today
It’s on her instagram! She posted a video. So good!
ua-cam.com/video/57se_y4DpXE/v-deo.html
I cannot believe this was six hours before the world premiere, and now, it is the most awarded movie in history including seven Oscars and they truly did not know then. I love them all
Jaime is so considerate on praising others, and giving them chance to talk. It shows how great a person she is despite her Hollywood legend background
This interview is about to blow up as is this movie. Best film I have EVER seen.
1000%
@@Major-KudosI can not wait to watch it!
I want to watch it a third time.
I really hope that the movie and the actors get the recognition they deserve. I will be very disappointed if it gets no nods for an Oscar. It deserves so many.
That's high praise!!
Thank you.
the best filmography out there
I live in Mexico, and we’re usually known for weird, or noisy crowds in these ‘’small’’ movies, small meaning not Star Wars, marvel, fast and furious, etc…
And usually there’s people joking around, they’re not even paying attention to the movie, they’re on their phone, laughing in the quiet moments or stuff…
… it was dead silent throughout the whole rock scene…
And that told me exactly just how attentive everyone was…
How captivating the scene was, even if it was absurd in essence, everything around it, and the theme it touched upon, really resonated with the audience.
And I had never seen that here…
Such a good movie.
I’ve never seen a cast that has such obviously great chemistry while being humble and generous about each others’ performances. So good.
Awww.... I loved that they all toasted to the return of Ke Huy Quan!
LOVE how incredibly intelligent JLC was with her questions PLUS how passionate and compassionate she was with her team. just such an amazing person
AND ms Yeoh. not enough can be said about her. the oscars need to recognize this movie and the team many times over during next years awards.
Jamie is great. So positive and love the way she rephrased it as a resumption
She's so articulate and graceful here
7:41 "You will get used to it, honey." Absolute boss Jamie. She understands how other actors/actresses that are humble feel when getting complimented. So, she is comforting Michelle that it is alright to get complimented. Even more amazing is how Michelle despite with such a huge track record is still so humble and feels shy getting complimented. Her parents did a great job in her upbringing.
Everyone here got the Oscar Nomination ..... amazing work, amazing acknowledgement
They are so comfortable with each other! You can tell they’re already friends and it’s so cool witnessing this! Legends!
It’s a classic already
well said!
This film was a seismic shift in what I thought I knew about human storytelling. Incredible film and I'm so happy to have been able to see it!
Everyone needs Ke in their lives. He's just someone that appreciates all the little details others miss. What a shining light.
I just watched this yesterday and oh my gosh I've never seen a movie something like this, I laughed and I cried, it's crazy but it is down to earth storyline that each and every one of us can relate to! Everyone, please go and watch!!
Saw this in the theatre and it did its job so well. I laughed and cried and it was the best loner birthday night I have had in 48 years
happy belated birthday.. best loner caught my eye to reply..
Hey man. No shame in that! I'm going to go see it a second time tonight solo!
I saw it alone on my birthday today! Your not alone birthday!
Some of my favorite movie theater experiences have going alone to see a movie. Sometimes it’s just the best. Happy belated birthday!
Happy belated birthday!🎉🎊🎂
Jamie is such a hype lady and a great interviewer! Love her energy so much. I wish this film had BHS because it's just so interesting.
Never in my life would I expect to see Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis doing a movie together. I love it!!
This is literally one of the best movies I've ever seen and I can't stop crying every time I think about it.
i thought i was the only one tearing up every time i think about it, and i barely watched it yesterday i can’t believe it took me so long to finally watch it
All the actors were great in this movie but I was especially impressed with Stephanie Hsu 😭
Her performance was phenomenal and made me cry 😢
I did not expect to love this movie THIS much. The 3hr long version needs to be made available YESTERDAY.
1 year later and everyone in this video is a well deserved academy award nominee.

Stephanie Hsu was crazy good. So happy Ke finally got the chance to return. Jamie seems like a really nice person
Jamie Lee Curtis giving the ultimate compliment to Michelle Yeoh: "Nobody else could do this part." That's incredible. From one legendary actor to another.
the directors called this a "big group hug of a movie" and you can really feel that in every interview they do together!
Omg I’m so happy for Ke. I love this movie and Jamie is just the best!
We all know how amazing Jamie, Michelle and Ke are, but mannnnn I was so blown away with Stephanie's acting.
Stephanie was sooo good in this, hope she gets even more awesome roles after this!
For anyone curious about the chairs, they go for $400-$2.5k on Ebay LOL
Ke is amazing in this movie, I'd even say Oscar-worthy.
Jamie is a veteran in Hollywood. But she shows no airs, very thoughtful & was nice to talk about Ke & so encouraging to everyone.
Honestly this makes me really appreciate Jamie Lee Curtis. She was so humble and so ready to spread love
Watching this after the Oscars, this being filmed before the premiere of the movie and they have no idea what’s to come.. absolutely amazing! 🏆🙏🏼🙌🏼
Saw the movie yesterday. Went in with no expectations, and I was just blown away. The casting choices in this movie were absolutely perfect.
Everyone in this video are now Academy Award nominees.
Such a wholesome interview. Jamie adjusting Michelle's hair was a sweet moment.
Only Michelle Yeoh can deliver an amazing performance in one of the most demanding roles in recent times and sit quietly allowing everyone else to take the center stage. What an artist, what a wonderful human being.
They ARE the moment! This movie was AMAZING! Performances, Filmmaking, Score, EVERYTHING.
I was hesitant about watching it, but holy shit this is the multiverse done right. I need an everything bagel.
This is just the best interview in the history of interviews.
The best movie of this century. It’s so beautiful how Stephanie touches Ke’s knee when he is talking about his first day on set. These people clearly formed a lifelong bond.
This aged pretty well didnt it guys. Like literally.
The chemistry between these people… so insanely beautiful
