I'm pretty sure that video was filmed like November at least, he had that thing WAAAAAAAAAAAY early. The comments did point out that most of the sales for that display are in-store rather than online, but suffice as I know up until CES only Linus had that exact model of TV in North America.

Really looking to switch from projector to giant TV. 100 isn't quite big enough to replace my 140 inch set up but I feel like I could live with a 115 inch TV. However, I'd be waiting for a lower model in that size. You can currently get a tcl 98 inch lower model for 2000. I'd consider a lower model 115 for 4000. Doesn't seem like a crazy markup for the extra 17 inches. Maybe 5000 but that's it.

NO, projectors are not even close in terms of nit output in that price range, Jvc nz9(25k dollar pj) puts out about 119nits at a 130in wide x50in tall screen(2.35:1) and requires a video processor(2k-15k) on top to map out dv/hdr. You would need christie or barco(100k +) level commercial projectors to approach/surpass that kind of nit output.

Sadly, and this is what most people never do their actual homework on before buying, TCL and Hisense are among the LOWEST rated brands in the entire TV industry when it comes to quality and reliability over the long term. What good is a big, beautiful display if it just breaks on you after ten months? Both companies are so quick to brag about how they are so highly ranked in total US and global sales. What they NEVER talk to you about though is their record on reliability or their longevity though. That's because their numbers in those areas a really bad.
