Hey everyone! As fun as this was, the review will be even better! What do you want to know? Shooting soon! P.S. Price is $20K for now, but we expect that will drop quite a bit in time.
Looking forward to the review! I'm curious if it has some of the same issues as the 98" (seemingly all software problems thankfully). Currently, the sticky picture settings between modes, video processing delay with sub-60Hz refresh rates, and color shift with RGB signal (PC connection, seemingly resolvable with the Tint slider) are holding it back a bit, but overall happy with the performance after some moderate tweaks.
Power draw and the heat coming off the set. I have a 75 inch QM8 and it heats up the whole area it hangs in. It is hanging on a wall but I have it swiveled out a good 14 inches with an ac vent blowing down right above it and the heat coming off the set it tremendous. Can only image what this beast will be putting off.
Thank you DT. This was quite a blast. A TV raised and unboxed by the neigbourhood. It took a village. I look forward to the indepth review. Can you imagine it this was micro LED. Well, one day we will get there affordably. The good thing is my house has the room.
Yep helped a friend move and setup a 65" Samsung LED in 2010. Into a house with not high ceilings guessing 9ft. It looked crazy big on that relatively small wall. Wild that is the norm now.
its still great setting up a 65 inch samsung i got my brothers after he passed away Tv is now 4 years old and was barely used by him as they kept the auto turn off still on it so it went off after 4 hours and most of the time stayed off Tv like brand new and curved
Only got a 65" earlier this year. Sony recommends 2 people to move and install it. Since I want to pedestal mount it instead, this will be a big job in a small room for a single person.
By the way, as an installer, I highly recommend when you pull the screen protector off, you pull upward from the bottom edge. Not that you need to start from the bottom, but if you pull downward or straight across, the screen protector leaves tiny little pieces that are a real pain to remove.
I was cringing when he was standing 3 feet away from the edge pulling with all his might horizontally... Major tipping hazard for one thing, and way too easy to rip the film as you mentioned
I once bought a tv from amazon and it came with white glove install which I was shocked. They came to my home unboxed, hooked up, explained remote, asked if I had any questions and took all the trash with them. AMAZING!!!!
This is the easy day, the fun will start when you have to repack it to go back. I can appreciate the size of this set, a friend has a 120" motorised projector screen and your jaw drops as it descends from the ceiling and the curtains adjust to the ratio that you wish to watch. I have to make do with a 60" projector screen, but that is the maximum my room can take. Enjoy this monster TV whilst you can
I think a lot of ppl that don't get motion sickness would suddenly be prone to motion sickness and the size would be utterly insane. Where would you even put such a setup? The only thing crazier is that video Linus recently did with setting up a GIANT projector set-up at his new building.
@@SpidermanandJeny, haha! I totally agree that having three or more of those TCL beasts would be insane, but also fun in a way if money were no object and space was not an issue. Still, one of those screens would be plenty for me. Aside from gaming or flight simulator possibilities on steroids, they would be amazing for stockbrokers or day traders, etc. to track stocks and trends on massive screens. :)
I remember when Linus from Linus Tech Tips got hold of one intended for sale in China, complete with a DTMB tuner and the custom software they use there, but the same TV is now available with an ATSC tuner and Google TV?! I can only imagine what his reaction would be.
I attended CES in January and was amazed when I first saw this TV. 😲 I had to struggle to find a spot on the floor just to get a closer look. 😅 I absolutely loved it and plan to buy one when the price drops. 😊 Right now, I'm enjoying my Hisense 100" U76N and I love it! ❤📺
Looking forward the quality review. About 3 years ago, I bought a TCL TV for my daughter. It died right after the warranty ran out. I replaced it with a Sony (same size double the cost). The Sony is running perfectly as I expected. I hope the reliability of TCL has improved.
That's funny, and also sad for me.. I just bought the exact same one today and Best Buy can't get it to me till the 13th. That's going to be a rough wait. At least I got them to eat the delivery and setup charge.
I got the 100" Hisense from Best buy. Delivery was a joke. So have friends there Incase. They sent a guy and a girl. I had to help them get it in the house and I'm a tiny guy. They refused to carry it downstairs. They set it up on the floor in the living room and ran. I had to have 4 friends come carry it into the basement. Best buy sucks.
One thing, that I feel like some people forget, is that you really will want a large space to put this in (obviously) especially when considering heat. Something that big, that bright, in a small theater room would get toasty.
I nearly bought myself an 8k 88" display a few years ago... but when I went to a shop to view it in person, I felt like I got a suntan in 5 mins when standing a couple of feet away... and even though it was a cool day out, the shop had the aircon running, and it was uncomfortably warm from all the displays...
Caleb, when you return these TV's to the manufacturer (or shop) after testing, how do you deal with the now non-existent plastic that covered the screen when it was in it's box?
@ 115" the trade off is the magnification of any and all picture flaw... but sitting or standing 20 feet away, that's the test straight on and off angle.
5:51 everytime I see those circular speaker shapes, I'm reminded of those Sony TVs which had them on either side of the TV in the front and i freaking loved that design so much (which i later realized didn't resonate with the majority so Sony had to drop your idea)
Ikr?? I thought I was the only one who thought that design was cool. But it make sense they removed it considering that a person buying a flagship tv probably also has a banger home theater setup
I owned a 75 inch version of that TV. Beautiful design and the speakers actually sounded great but still did not beat a nice surround system that I had. I wish they were detachable to save space. Also, TVs real glass front paired with those speakers made it so heavy.
I can see why they would have the 2 outer boxes open from different ends, for strength. If they both opened from the same end that end of the box would be weak. Edit: I like the screw in handles, I think I'd leave them installed as long as there wasn't a snag risk due to a tight space.
I'm in EU. And got what I feel is the 85 inch version of this. The unboxing still haunts me. It's the exact same double box design for the x955. Epic TV
Hi Mr. Denison, This TV is 😮silly crazy!!! I have two Xbox game consoles limited halo series. Having halo gaming will over whelm me and, I would need a mini movie room to accommodate this massive screen. Just seeing you unbox it lets me now that it will need to go on a wall😅!! I use to have that kind of space before I sold my home but man this is amazing and crazy 😜!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the review on this set. Please enjoy it. William 😇

Who’d wanna risk a Best Buy “unboxed” special deal on one of these beasts? Also included in the purchase price are the first 2 months of chiro and physiotherapy appointments.
Mine is still bigger. 115” is still small for the projector crowd but it’s nice that the TV guys will finally get a taste of something a bit bigger. When they stop measuring diagonally you’ll know you’ve finally ‘made it’.
120” is good. One on my screens is 120”. But most modern projectors can do 120” in their sleep. I’d try to max your wall. If you want a ‘cinematic’ experience you need to get to 50 degrees (FOV). That would mean you would need to sit within 9 ft for this TV. But that calculation gets crazy as you sit further away. If you’re sitting, say, 13 ft away you’d need a 165” (diagonal). Doubt we’ll have 165” TVs anytime soon.
@@sage11x most modern projectors do 120” yes but remember is not about what they can do but how much light they can emit. In a 3-5k region 120” is reasonable max otherwise picture will be dimmer. Besides all those will give you max 200 nits - which is fine in the dark but far cry from what tv can do especially this 5k nits monster. You want proper hdr - you get this and sit within 10-12 feet from it
Wow! Thank god I watched this. I had extra cash left over because I bought something cheaper than what I saved for and was thinking about getting this tv because I like the idea of such a large tv. Seem a bit too big, I will need to make a lot of changes to accommodate this tv.
This TV is more than 4x my TV in size. I'm rocking a 55" LG C9 OLED and it's already pretty big considering I watch it from about a body length away in my recliner. Can't see myself ever getting something this big or expensive. With something that large even a short throw projector and its accompanying screen is better value and larger to boot. That said, a 100" OLED would be freakin' sweet.
Hey Caleb, you mention the 'optional' legs. Do you know where / how to get the larger legs? I can find them anywhere online and even reached out to TCL but only get a basic customer support rep that doesn't know anything about them.
Thanks for showing us this enormous beautiful TV 📺 I’m waiting for November for the Black Friday weekend this year so I can get the 77” LG C4 Oled TV, by the way this is my favourite consumer electronics channel you have is brilliant cheers & peace ✌️
WOW! I love this presentation. Peter was funny about taking the TV Home. I am interested in having this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Do the legs come with it?
Let's not forget that the very first plasma TV at 50" was retailing for about $12,999 when it first came out and some spent the money to be the first ones. Imagine that!
A few months ago, I bought the 98 inch Samsung. At that time, that was the largest television. The first two had major issues and each time Best Buy delivered it, but did not set them up for me. I had to return two of them. Can you imagine the logistics of that? I had to recycle so much cardboard and yes, I recycled the styrofoam too in Ann Arbor Michigan. The third one finally worked. I did not mount it on the wall, but I bought it very large stand for it. It weighs so much. I had to call in several of my friends to help me lift it not once, not twice, but three times due to all the returns. The first time the screen was completely destroyed when it arrived. The second time one of the HDMI ports was not working and Samsung could not fix it. I spent $5000 and Best Buy did not offer to install it for me. The picture quality is amazing. But the implementation is a nightmare. I would never want to do again. This is the last large TV I’m ever going to buy. I think we are quickly approaching the days of short throw projectors with large screens with great picture quality.
The biggest argument against these things is how ABSOLUTELY OBSCENELY HUGE they are. Once they're up there, sure, great experience but... I installed my 120 inch screen solo. I plonked down the nice Epson UST projector on a bench, and then mounted the CLR screen. I coulda used another pair of hands but I did it myself... and if the projector fails, I can package it and carry it out - also myself.
Can you please put on a lighter gray uniform image and test of it has vertical stripes in the panel? I bought the European c955 model a few months back and it had visible bars every 4 inch on the whole panel..

How it compares to the upcoming Hisense 110UX!

Same! I can live with my xreal airs until tvs of this size become cheaper
What I like about the huge screen tv's is that you can have 4 smaller screens at once, or 1 huge screen
Wow! Thank god I watched this. I had extra cash left over because I bought something cheaper than what I saved for and was thinking about getting this tv because I like the idea of such a large tv. Seem a bit too big, I will need to make a lot of changes to accommodate this tv.
When will we get the regular 2024 QM8 review?
Hahaha the synchronized hands on the hips. Like two dads admiring the lines of a well cut lawn😂
Is that the new series s sitting beside the tv!? It’s huge
massive.. awesome TCL 115" dream tv... never had a dream tv like that b4..😢 any flat😢😢😢
Love to see a compare against a high-end Sony projector
WOW! I love this presentation. Peter was funny about taking the TV Home. I am interested in having this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Do the legs come with it?
I’m surprised professional installation isn’t a requirement with the purchase, not just included…due to warranty purposes.
Be sure to keep that box in case you ever move! LOL! Don't think Home Depot. sales any tv boxes over 77inch😅
Caleb’s presentations never disappoint. Regardless of the subject.
Theres some distortion in the screen. You can see warped reflection in parts of the screen. But im not knocking it.
Congrats on the TV, Caleb. I’d have been so nervous unboxing it.
I thought my 85" TV was big, wow 115 now that's something I like to have 🤘
Ok I don’t think I could have had a better presentation of this TCL 115”!! Sir I think I’m in your debt 😂!!!
You have sold me my friend
-Your New Fan
I love it Yes indeed
How much is it
And when will it be released for the public WOW it's amazing Size 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Let's not forget that the very first plasma TV at 50" was retailing for about $12,999 when it first came out and some spent the money to be the first ones. Imagine that!
Fantastic review.
What is the model of the SVS in the background?
Sony had a 98 inch TV out in early August of last year.
8k for life !!! one day it will be main stream !
I want to know when the review coming out for them svs ultras you have in the thumbnail
Looks good with the svs towers.
Link to those beautiful white speakers please 🙏🏾
Off topic,I see that you have Svs Elevation speakers.Which model and when can we expect a review? If you are going to do 1?
I can't see the link to Erins channel. you could have probably given him a plug as well.
Can you please put on a lighter gray uniform image and test of it has vertical stripes in the panel? I bought the European c955 model a few months back and it had visible bars every 4 inch on the whole panel..
Massive. Wish I had the room. You recently reviewed the TCL QM85. Do you believe it's a better unit than the Samsung QN90CD?
