Go fuck yourself and show more respect for the genre with more soul and passion even that metal. And of course, the most unlimited honest genre. Go fuck some demon or dragon of the hell-mountains or some shit like that lol.
Metal and punk both can have a mainstream sound, and punk rock has an enormous amount of diversity just like metal. And neither genre wins; it depends on the skill of the musician. The elements of any one genre of music can't limit the skill or creative genius of a musician who utilizes it.
***** Well, take doom, which requires more artistic sense than it does skill in terms of shredding, and compare it to D-beat, which requires less artistic sense, but more skill in terms of drumming. Of course D-beat was invented by metal artists, but still.
El primer solo de metal simplemente es glorioso. Iba al colegio cuando encontré este video y ahora lo vuelvo a encontrar. Me transmitió a mi infancia y banda de rock del colegio. Saludos de Argentina
cosmic338 Punk has solos, about the exact same as metal, this guys using chords as the only tell for what punk "supposedly" sounds like. Truths is the're metal songs that only use chords like his punk example. The only real differences in punk and metal are song structures, band attitudes and Lyric styles.
Firefox1095 But Punk does the "deeper" topics as well. And metal does the exact same thing that you described for punk. Hardcore punk was very political and could have been rebellious as well. It depends on the types of punk and metal that you're referring to.
It's not "lazy" it is just more straightforward and raw. It is the essence of the genre. I don't know if you've ever been to any punk or even hardcore punk show, but they are often intense as fuck with the musicians going nuts. You rarely find this level of intensity in most metal songs. Metal is more about composition and musicianship.
I was in university on my laptop during a recess in a programming module, watching this masterpiece. The professor, who happened to walk behind me asked "So who wins?". I gave him a puzzled look and he clarified: "Who wins? Punk or Metal?". I thought about it for a second and I told him "I win. Whoever listens to this wins". He smiled and walked on.
I don't know in which world are you living in. Though the first sentence would be true, if we were in the 80's... But the second sentence is pretty false at any age.

metal was born of man to hide his imperfections on a god made machines through distortion which you would otherwise hear on clean tones.
your turn ;)
I like both punk and metal. There is no need to make a fight between, but the video is awesome!
Metal just has a wider skill base than punk, yet punk can have a more mainstream sound.
Metal wins if this is a skill based showdown.
Miramu punk is far from a mainstream sound, unless it's pop punk.
Miramu Mainstream sound? Last time I remembered, punk was specifically against the mainstream...
Spirit Crusher ikr, I don't understand that statement
Eres un genio Charlie; y encima das clases a los que no sabíamos diferenciar muy bien
Muchas gracias Luis 🙌🏼!!!
Nunca me aburro de este rolón xd
That last riff sounds like it was influenced by Pantera.
Jacob Craft It was!
Cowboys?
***** yeah
0:37 song name ?
El primer solo de metal simplemente es glorioso. Iba al colegio cuando encontré este video y ahora lo vuelvo a encontrar. Me transmitió a mi infancia y banda de rock del colegio. Saludos de Argentina
Punk is just as metal as metal, and metal is just as punk as punk. This is pretty awesome.
Nah punks more lazy.
cosmic338 Punk has solos, about the exact same as metal, this guys using chords as the only tell for what punk "supposedly" sounds like.
***** I dunno dude, maybe in the mainstream, but there's a lot of local acts that put really one hell of a show ! (btw I live in France)
I can't even...I'm jealous... I can't decide... I think it'd depend on my mood which one I like better..
This is so awesome. I was smiling over the whole length of the video.
Me: enjoying the video
My brain:
Metal = DOOM,
Punk = Sunset Overdrive
Haha it's true
Wow i thought everyone forgot about sunset overdrive
@@5starstunna428 No way, Sunset Overdrive is the funniest game I've played. Crazy how people could forget that game
Yooooooo I still play Sunset Overdrive! I only wish I could’ve gotten it when the servers were still up. Man, multiplayer must’ve been a riot!
Dude you missed Yellow on the middle "Sunset Yellow Overdrive"
Metal Fan-"METAL IS THE BEST GENRE EVER! PUNK SUCKS"
Punk Rock Fan- "Both genres are great, I personally like punk more but that's just me."
Punks are very civil nowadays.
Not really.
I don't know in which world are you living in.
Though the first sentence would be true, if we were in the 80's... But the second sentence is pretty false at any age.
Ummm, the metal head in the video is wearing a Ramones shirt...
Trevor Please do not generalize.
Todo depende del momento y la energía
Puro poder...
Saludos desde Guatemala. Sos un gran guitarrista. Talvez interpretas THROUGH THE FIRE AND FLAMES.
La diferencia entre metal y punk es como un Audi(metal) y Nissan(punk)
1:45 Reminded me of Cowboys from hell
