    I've been using Raimondi for 3 years now and quite happy. One thing your forgot to mention about the Raimondi wedges, that they are NOT exactly like the Levtec wedges, they have that extra little tail that sticks out the back end, giving you more downward force across slightly more distance, improving the level between 2 tiles. Also I got that bag of 300 clips 2 years ago, weighs a ton when you buy 3000 of them! I've gotten accustomed by now to knowing if a clip will break, and I stop clicking the pliers right before it's about to happen. Also, I save any of my clips after I smash them off the tile the next day. Any smashed off clip that still has a U-shape is usable for tiling backsplashes when you need tons of spacers in between thin backsplash tiles, and you now have a large u-shaped spacer with a handle. So keep a separate bucket for those.

    • @Fetid1337
      @Fetid1337 5 років тому

      I'm glad to hear someone else found that ingenious as well. Do you use the backside of the U or the double pronged side? We've had some difficulty removing them when using the fat side. If that's how you're doing it, any tips past get a new blade ready for your utility knife?

    • @professorkaos2781
      @professorkaos2781 3 роки тому

      yes once you understand how to wiggle and hold the clip as needed to avoid breakage, no other system gets more pressure on the tile...its amazing what the RLS system can do even when people use it on bad substrates it often pulls the tiles together so well that its rare for the tile to be hollow. They also have double ridged clips that provide even more push strength for LFT 4ft and up. Thats why so many companies just "clip and go" with this system and if a repair is needed here and there, so be it.

    • @jeffostroff
      @jeffostroff 3 роки тому

      @@professorkaos2781 Yes they have other tile channels here on UA-cam that tested these side-by-side with other companies and these clips break the least.

      @@jeffostroff yes but at the cost of less power....if i want a clip that doesnt break i think peygran is the best for your money but RLS once u figure it out is the best IMO except for lev tec which is 40% more cost

    Thanks for the video! Have used many different systems now, and am yet to settle on one. Progress Profiles (PLS) has been my favorite for some time, but did try my Raimondi's again recently. Been thinking of going back to them, but am always so frustrated by how easily they break. Based on your info, I guess it is still cheaper to have a few break from time to time than to spend the money on LEVTEC.....

  • @robbifalchi1889

    Good review, but I would still go with Raimondi, because as you clearly indicated on your video, with Raimondi clips, if you made a mistake, it can be disassembled without breaking, The Levtec breaks when disassembling it. Secondly, Yes the Raimondi will break if you step on it. So keep the clips in a box and not lying around and use them from the box as you require them. If there is more than one tiler at the same time, then have multiple boxes with clips to share. Thirdly, why I also would recommend the Raimondi clips, is because they will with less effort break off after the tile/cement has cured. You do not want to battle in breaking the clips for the next process (Grouting). In my personal opinion we prefer the Raimondi system.

    I like Lec-Tec’s bright green too. As a matter of fact I liked the green so much I bought bright green 🧤 gloves. Maybe RLS clips have better snapability (technical term 😎) when you remove the wedges? Could you try RLS clips with Lev-Tec wedges? My local tile store carries RLS; $159 for 2000 clips. Seems like a better deal than Amazon’s $179.95 for 2000 Lev-Tec clips.

    Thank you for the review. To remove the LEVTEC wedges from the clips during installation we recommend pushing the top of the clip back towards the back of the wedge. The direction that the clip is leaning and you will have no issues removing them.
    Also if you look up www.tiletools.com I think you will find that the LEVTEC products are very competitive against the RLS.

    I disagree with Levtec being worth the increased cost. In comparison the Levtec did not improve the final result. Therefore the performance was no different. In fact RLS actually held up better since it didn't break when removing the wedge to adjust the tile. Do not step on the spaces prior to insulation and save the 40% to 50%. Keep the profit rather than give it away to see no difference in the final result. After all no one will know or care which system you used since they are producing identical results.
