    Ok, I’ve watched so many reactions to this song and you are the first person to point out, as you put it: “WOW! Look at him working that body on every single word - or syllable.” That’s the main thing I saw with the performance and I love it so it’s cool knowing I’m not the only one that noticed that.

    This song is what got me into deathcore and eventually death metal and other extreme metals, just a year or so ago! It's a great song with a ton of energy to it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am still somewhat new to this kind of metal myself, but you seem to have covered pretty much everything in your analysis! I love that even though you may not be as familiar with metal as you are other kinds of music, you know enough about music and singing in general to apply it even here! So cool, thank you for sharing!

To be honest I like your reactions because you’re not over the top when you hear the harsh vocals; there’s too many who overact and end up being off putting. I also like that you mix up English and Finnish, it’s nice to hear you speak both; I sort of wonder sometimes that you mix things up when you get excited about what you’re hearing 😂 Keep them coming, I really look forward to seeing and hearing you 💖

    The last thing left to try imo is Infant Annihilator, but, eh.. I mean, I personally consider Dickie Allen, Alex Terrible and Will Ramos as the three most brutal metal vocalists, but IA might be a bit too excessive in lyrics and videos. Ok - add Phil Bozeman as the fourth to the list:) but I assume that you anyway will face the IA reccomendations:) I would say - try the Unholy Gravebirth as it has quite a lot of interesting stuff to analyze. And it doesn't have an insane video as well. It has a static pic. Probably, the best and the most adequate thing of what you can get from the IA.

    Hi Anna. Please check out a japanese band called Dir En Grey, their vocalist called Kyo has a 6 octave vocal range, possibly even higher, up to the 8th octave. His clean vocals are absolutely amazing, and he's mastered every type of growl and scream. He's known to switch voices completely mid-song or even mid-sentence. His voice bottoms at A1, and he's hit into the 8th and possibly 9th octave live (debated on whether or not falsetto and whistle notes count, but he belted out the G#7 from the diaphragm). Check Vinushka live androgynous version to see how insane his vocal abilities are.

    Very insightful. I think watching these objective explanations help me to improve my screaming quite a lot. Even though you are not specialized in deathcore you definitely know what is happening with the voice. Also so nice to see fellow Finns to deep dive into the extreme metal 😄.
    About the tunnel throat, I believe Alex uses Ben Duerr style of guttural in the breakdown call where he mounts the tongue in the top of the mouth or behind the top teeth. ua-cam.com/video/NuRj9N7fcgQ/v-deo.html
    Tunnel throat can of course be used in gutturals as well. In this technigue, tongue is usually mounted behind the lower teeth and there might be an arch/slope in the tongue as well. This creates a specific type of reverb effect in mouth and with lower notes you could think of a noisy sewer sound in the sink, like CJ McCreery type of vocals. And with higher notes you can create Will Ramos/Dickie Allen type of zombie noises.

    So I was wondering. Is your background more pop contemporary? I love the fact that I can see you trying to break down what they are doing with jaw movement. Seeing how they could possibly use vocal techniques to help with what they are doing. Alex Terrible the vocalist for this band is a bit of a Unicorn with his lows in my opinion. Not a lot of Metal vocalists I've run into can do something like that. Loved the video! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

    Kiitos paljon tästäkin reaktiosta! Hienoa, että ote penkistä piti, vaikka tukka hulmusi kotikatsomossa asti 😁 Hei.. Olisi reaktioehdotus. Saattaa olla sinulle tuttu, mutta kokeillaan kepillä jäätä. Tuomas Holopaisellahan oli jossain vaiheessa Don Rosan Roope Ankan Elämä ja Teot sarjakuvista inspiraation saanut albumi "Music Inspired by Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. UA-cam syövereistä löytynee koko albumi, mutta toivoisin, että kuuntelisit joskus albumilta A Lifetime of Adventure, jossa laulajana aina niin loistava Johanna Kurkela :)

    When you were talking about the different things people can do with their voices and how they are masters of their instruments, I thought this would fascinate you as a vocal coach;
    ua-cam.com/video/eg9_ymCEAF8/v-deo.html
    I think you might be surprised at how little layering there is in terms of production effect and how much of it is Alex performing what he calls a "double harmonic" (if I remember correctly.) If you check out the video he did where he demonstrates it in his bathroom, it's really impressive.
    If you haven't heard the Hu ft Lzzy Hale "song of women" absolutely recommend. I think it might be one of the best examples of throat singing.

    From what I know you are right about Tunnel Throat being the source of the lowest most guttural part.
