Beth : I find it quite soothing. Is it weird that I find it soothing?
Every metalhead watching : WE DID IT BOYS. PACK IT UP. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Hell Yeah, Alex did it!
It's happened, we've finally converted her over to metal fully.
It's been a long journey o7

You are the first reactor that "gets" the relaxation aspect of this genre. It can get you extremely pumped and chill at the same time!
I get horrible anxiety and I always listen to stp to calm down lol
Check out the charismatic voice. She really breaks down what he's doing here.
It helps me with anger. And anxiety.
exactly, thats why i hate people who say that metal makes people violent, its the complete opposite, the whole point is to soothe you and is basically a form of just ventin and expressin your emotions.
@@reloadedpage8222 Music is something different to everybody. No two people will be struck in the same way by a song. But all of the studies that have been done show that there is no correlation between media consumed and violent out bursts. It just snow flakes that universally think they know what bring the most happiness.
“An aggressive cuddle” must be the best explanation of what listening to metal feels like for a metalhead
honestly tho lmao
Somtimes even the heaviest metal can be quite cathartic. Love that you reacted to this. Keep it up!
The more extreme metal subgenres are great for burning off anger and stress.
@@deed5811 That's why I've been sleeping so well this week after discovering and binging STP
it's so underappreciated, look at bands like Napalm Death and Cannibal Corpse they have been doing this since the late 80s, the amount of skill, endurance, and stamina to perform at this level is phenomenal.
Beth has embraced this kind of music into her very core, to the point that deathcore is now Bethcore.
Baba Yaga, Bonebreaker Live, BFG division and 1984 are all amazing songs by them to react to
Edit: yes I’m aware BFG division is covered by Alex and from the doom soundtrack
I agree with Baba Yaga, but 1984 shows his vocal talent even more I think. All good choices
Bonebreaker Live 100%, his vocals in that video are so clear and fucking deep it's insane.
And bratva… don’t forget bratva
@@omegashinra7672 ive probably seen it 300 times😅 love it!
Bfg division is the ish man
Beth, as a nearly 40 year old metal guy you nailed it for me with your comment about (paraphrase) "if it sounds like noise, you're not listening." I've said that sooooooo many times and its great to hear someone not totally steeped in the bands and culture say the same thing. Love your reactions and keep the ROAR alive!
Alex has a great voice. He does the Demolisher part live without a microphone and he is loud!!!
He has Amazing projection with his voice.
"An aggressive cuddle!" 💙
Beth, if you can handle this, you can handle most things. I feel that the excellent groove throughout makes it surprisingly enjoyable for some who might not normally be attracted to music like this.
I love how you got into it! Love the channel.
The drummer is so amazing
Love that you make videos about a so wide variety of music, and always with the same enthusiasm and respect.
Ikr! Evgeny is Actually one of my Main drumming Inspirations :D
Love this vid you should check this song live. The volume he gets unmic'd is actually bananas

I’m no expert or vocal coach, but it must take a lot of skill to be able to sing in that style.
I've been trying to learn for like a year, and I only recently figured out how to do false cord distortion. Most people pick it up a lot faster than I did lol. Once I did figure it out, I found the basic mechanic behind it isn't that difficult to do but to get it to sound good takes a LOT of practice and effort. Alex Terrible (the singer of this song) had been doing distorted vocals for about 14 years by the time this song was written and released, and he is definitely amazing and talented.
Alex, the singer, has been working on that style for 12 years. He doesn't have a very deep normal speaking voice.
@@darmakx99 I do distorted vocals for 13 years and i'm not even nearly as good as Alex, mainly because I used a wrong technique for about 10 years and it got me off road (nothing dangerous for my vocal cords but I had not enough "power" on my vocal back then), but yeah, once u figure it out it takes only a lot of pratice but you will become good if you pratice enough
Most people need a lot of time to learn how to activate their false cord's distortion and also learn how to use their diaphragm, plenty of people will never be able to do what u hear here.
There are 3 layers on this video just so u know.
To do it safely is the key. It took me years to learn most of the styles, and for being a metal head for closing in on 20 years i still cant to some things comfortably. The "fry" and or "false chord" is what most people learn first because it is the most common to hear in metal vocals. Be safe when learning, and if it hurts, stop, and try a different approach. It will be uncomfortable at first, but eventually youll find a technique that works. Great example. When i do a "pig squeal" i actually inhale to make the noise, because the twisting needed to it with an exhale just doesnt work for me.
To most people it may just sound like scratchy growls, but there is real technique behind these sounds. Alex here can do most of the sounds of a metal vocalist but he is best known for his low low "gutterals", and more so for something called "tunneling". Whats most amazing his how fluently he can switch between all the sounds. There are times in some of his songs that he switches from a tunnel into an almost clean sound, then back again within maybe a note or two and that my friends...... is pure madness
Beth has the BEST metal face 😂
Beth - your open mindedness to check out and analyse all kinds of music is so refreshing and is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the range of your musical intellect
Beth you are amazing.
Love how appreciative and open minded you are to the talent and skill violent music takes.
Rawr. ❤️👊🤘
Awesome reaction. I love how into it you are. Most channels who are not familiar wit STP act scared or afraid of them. All of these guys are freakin' talented.
You are the first reactor I have seen that was totally genuine, your face, the flapping hands, completely real. Not only did you totally get it but you didn't talk down to anyone. Loved the video ❤ please make more
My favorite reactor
Funny you should say "this can be relaxing". I've put Slaughter to Prevail on my sleep playlist so I totally agree.
"Aggressive Cuddle" 🤣🤣 That might be one of my new favorite word combinations!
"An aggressive cuddle" The best way to convey metal to me lol Thanks for that analogy Beth!
Your the first person I've seen react to detahcore and say it's soothing. That makes me so happy, I haven't been a metal head long but I love the genre so much. It's in my gym playlist, and I sometimes sleep to it.
Hi! You should check out Necrophagist. They were a technical death metal band from Germany in the late 90s-early 00s and they were insanely technically proficient. Would love to see your reaction to "Ignominious and Pale" or "Stabwound." They just disappeared around 2010 and nobody has heard a thing from them since. The guitarist, Suicmez, wrote all of the instruments and performed them on the first album - which is absolutely insane - and he has a crazy unique sound as he was influenced by classical music and early death.
You get it! You actually get the sensation of deathcore...👏👏👏 Subbed!
How you described your ideal setting of listening to this type of music is literally what we Metal Heads do. I do believe you are truly enjoying Metal and that makes us all enamored to see :) Thank you SO much for giving our music a shot Beth! I enjoyed these reaction vids of yours.
i love how giddy some of the parts made you, this is the appropriate response to metal, when it makes you giggle you know its heavy af
I agree with you saying you get relaxed vibes. I listen to heavy stuff to chill, and or get pumped up.
There is a clip of him yelling "Demolisher" live without the mic filmed from pretty far back in the crowd if you look up "Demolisher no mic" on YT. You can clearly hear him. He doesnt use any vocal effects to achieve that sound. Its awesome.
Oh Beth, you would _love_ Lorna Shore. Their song "To the Hellfire", especially the last one minute starting at the 5 minute mark, has absolutely mind blowing vocal work.
EDIT: Thank you to a reply comment who mentioned Beth's already reviewed "To the Hellfire". Definitely worth a watch if you're reading this 🤘
Yes. Mind-blowing.
I think Sun//Eater is even more mind-blowing, despite it lacking that special vocal of To The Hellfire.
My guy, she already did this song.
@@KoryQ oh my! And recently too! Thank you, internet stranger. Not sure how I missed that one. Just watched it now. Beth's reaction is everything I'd hoped for and more 🤘
@@davetoms1 No worries! Lots of videos get uploaded, easy enough to miss one
If you are going to listen to "To the Hellfire" then watch Will doing the One Take Vocal.
I chill to this type of music all the time I wouldn’t say it’s too weird.
Soothing.. for sure possible, I fall asleep to stuff like this a lot.
You have also to check out Wil Ramos, vocal beast and leadsinger of another deathcore group Lorna Shore
She NEEDS to react to Hellfire!!!
Awesome! REALLY hoping to see you do some more Jinjer videos!
Amazing react!!!! STP is a amazing metal band i love it
You’re not alone in finding this soothing. I’ll listen to metal like this at the gym of course, and to help me relax and destress. It’s weird but it works, for me at least
It doesn't have a single base frequency but it has a frequency spectrum with a frequency center that can be moved up and down

BFG Division next from Alex Terrible!
You gotta do Amon Amarth
Beth Roars you always look amazing!
Don't worry about such rediculous things.
Kajagoogoo - Big Apple
I've heard a lot of people accuse him of adding effects in post to get that crazy low growl. Not true. He's got streams on UA-cam from his home that's just him, a mic, a camera and his computer. I don't think he's from this planet but his voice has made him iconic.
Love this reaction
If you're after that Zen metal trance, I'd definitely recommend Meshuggah or Strapping Young Lad. They're got some fantastic back-catalogues and have amazing (and very different) vocal qualities
SYL doesn’t get talked about enough at all. Big props to you on that, bro.
Few years late, but great to see this on here ❤️🤘😊🤘❤️
Yaaas was waiting for IT soooo long hah u are great ;)))))
I was so waiting for you to react to this, 1984 is also another great song!
It's polished organised chaos. That is why it's soothing 🤘
Fantastic and very funy reaction! Special thanks for correct subtitles for the lyrics.
No problem 😊
finally a vocal coach that understands the studio process of layering vocals to create for depth.
Thanks Beth! Thanks to you, I discovered the wonderful Mazzy Star.🙏
I fall asleep to this kind of music but it's also my energy music at work
So sweet your reaction 😂👍🏻
You were so cute when you got excited and pumped up, like a little kid in the lilly shop.
Yes this music gives you energy. And relaxes in a cathartic kind of way at the same time.
Im glad you can see it.
There is some contention around harsh vocals being pitch less. Someone already commented about them being a bandwidth of noise with a movable centre and for pure fry/false vocal that's true, but true phonation can be added to blend noise with pitch. Alex does this on Made in Russia specifically and there's plenty of vocalists that add fry to their true phonation.
Would love to hear Beth's take on Cradle Of Filth (either Saffron's Curse or Her Ghost In The Fog)
He does this breakdown live with out the mic and it’s completely insane
YES! Ty, when I tell people that this makes me feel more calm and peaceful they think it's crazy. I can't tell you why, exactly. but, yah.
After a rough day at work, nothing soothes me more than a good heavy tune blasting thru the speakers. The rougher the day, the heavier the music!
Having just seen them this past weekend, I can say without a doubt that Alex Terrible is a beast. That low breakdown sounds the same live, he's the real deal.
Подписался пару лет назад чтобы увидеть эту реакцию. Спасибо, Бэт, ты крутая)
This music is very calming for those who listen to relax
lorna shore def worth a watch, to the hellfire is their song that blew up with reactions, but honestly and of wills one takes are amazing. also getting like vocal coaches perspective on when will and thecharismaticvoice did the throat recording some of his sounds would be cool to see
extremely gratifying to see someone who isn't a metal head get caught up in the demolisher breakdown
Been waiting for this lol
Beth can now roar to this!
Fun reaction 😎👍
I, too, am strangely relaxed by this music.
You get it Beth! Respect
Thanks for positive reaction 🔥
You have to do Amon Amarth Twilight of the Thunder Gods
Or Helloween Keeper of the Seven Keys
If you loved this, you should absolutely react to Lorna Shore - To the hellfire, it has an evenly skilled vocalist, and great instrumentals!
She has done this, so I would instead suggest the live one take :)
I would’ve gone infant annihilator-blasphemian
Yes.
I always love what metal does to people, more people need to give it a chance.
I’ve been listening to metal since 1980, I’m now 56 and absolutely love today’s modern metal, Slaughter to Prevail and Meshuggah, Gojira are some of my favorites
Glad I am not the only one who can find heavy music soothing and calming. My wife thinks it is insane, heh
All gather for this breakdown gentlemen...
Вы великолепны!)
i used to listen to this kind music to sleep, funny that i dont do this anymore and i have hard time to sleep sometimes now...
...so what did you get from your first listen to STP's Demolisher? Aggressive cuddles. I think I'm in love! Keep up the awesome work!
Check out
This Calling by "All That Remains"
Of course someone would get Beth to react to death metal, your face expressions are so funny, great reaction Beth im a huge fan.
Death Core.
Have you seen the now legendary throat cam from The Charismatic Voice and Will Ramos?
I have! :)
He is my second fav vocalist rn after Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation.
He does this live and often will pull the mic away for the "DEMOLISHER" part and it sounds exactly like it does in the video, more or less. Alex is a beast.
"You're getting an aggressive cuddle"
I will use that everytime someone ask me why I listen to this kind of music
Would love to see you react to any Seven Spires song! “Gods of Debauchery” is one that gets a lot of YT reactions, but it truly is a fantastic place to start for one’s first time hearing them. Her voice isn’t as downright demonic as Alex Terrible, but she can do a huge range of distortion styles AND crisp cleans.
The drummer is insanely talented! 🤯
Thank you for reacting for something heavier!
He's like a monster, i love it. We love it too!! welcome to deathcore and may i suggest a band named Tallah?
Great reaction.
ABOUT TIME!!!
question for you Ma'am. I mimic my favorites, i can do everything Alex does, same with Lorna Shore, anything heavier you advise to try?
Slaughter to Prevail is a chilled-out cuddle. Gotcha.
😁🤘
Proud mum reaction 😂😂😂 great reaction
Vocal coaches reacting to people like Alex Terrible, Will Ramos and Tatiana Shmayluk never gets old 😂😂😂
I saw one where they made the mistake of drinking something while reacting to Pisces
Beth : Your lovey face was a pinball trapped between paddles and bumpers labeled
"Fear", "Astonish", "Shock", "I Feel Your Pain" "Here, you feel MY Pain" "Full KONG Mode" "Ooooh that's the____ " and "Pigs? Who invited the pigs?"
In other words, the same reaction we all had the first time we hears Slaughter To Prevail
This song has been on my "Machete the Thistle Weeds in the Pasture" List for a good while. Listening to these folks with sharp implements in your hands is not recommended, lol.
Love your content.
Best of times to you.
Greez from an Aussie Musician in Germany.
You still got the heat in UK? We finaly got the low and rain in my region after so many weeks arround 30°+....it feels so good (my Fam is from Adelaide so we are used to moderate temp`s)!
STP is just so awesome and I missed the german concert BC the Corona Lockdown hit in and they where just able to finish the US tour 2020.....
Try a reaction on Alex Terrible`s Doom- Deamon vocal cover next time....it`s just insane and you will love it! ;)
Their vocalist Alex does covers of pop songs on his yt channel. Lol
Jesus! I love people that can find beauty in such songs! 🔥
Peace to y'all! 🤙
Olá fofa!!!! Estou aqui para enfatizar o fato de tão adorável que vc é. Cheguei aqui graças ao Slaugther e estou muito feliz por isso. Te encontro nos próximos vídeos.
Flávio do Brasil🇧🇷🔥💪
"An aggressive cuddle!" Haha. I used to fall asleep to metal, so I get the relaxing aspect!
Check out viking it is just as awesome. The vocals was all Alex. I saw them live a few months ago and he sounded just like this video.
Reaction for Vancouver Sleep Clinic - Killing Me to Love You. Please and thank you. =) Love your reactions.
I absolutely love slaughter to prevail. The whole band is super talented but their drummer is on a different level
I love u Beth.
Andy cizek one take off Cardinal red is a must for a wide control of vocals
Классная реакция, субтитры порадовали🙂🤘👍
