You are wildly intelligent. As someone who doesn't know anything about the actual physiology of singing, you explained it very well. Not gonna lie though, thank you for saying you're Finnish because I don't know any Finnish people here in New York so my first reaction was..."Well, that's a weird Russian dialect I've never heard before."
A very informative and fun video! 😀 Perennial Live at Wacken would be a good next video. You will notice that Tatiana can look very different in all of her videos. Also, since I saw that a comment indicated that you are Finnish, so here is the link to a brilliant Finnish band "POETS OF THE FALL" with a classically trained singer live at the Alexander Theatre along with 3 or 4 female violin and cello musicians and his own acoustic band ..10 musicians in all in a bare concert hall. Brilliant!! Link to the song "Rebirth": ua-cam.com/video/HltxMawzfnw/v-deo.html
Great perception and insights, especially on a first viewing. The sense of humor is awesome too! You are very good in your analysis, only lending weight to your skill as a vocal coach.

Finnish is such a fascinating language to listen to! Sorry, I know it isn't about the video itself but thank you for just talking in your native tongue!
Damn you Jinjer, I have become so addicted to this song that I will gladly watch a reaction video in a language I don't even begin to understand. Because, well, reactions to Pisces absolutely transcend time space and language ...
That "look" at the first growl is what everyone is waiting on, and you did not disappoint, lol. Love your laugh. It was so full of genuine surprise and delight :D

Anna, I've watched many Reactors view this video and as you would expect they are all "flabbergasted" (amazed). Your reaction was far and away the most entertaining and genuine of them all. Your technical expertise, your stage presence, and your enthusiastic love of music is what keeps us coming back. Thank you. Have a great day.
That was a priceless reaction Anna. To see your expression when she went into her growl was great!! Your "pretend growl" was pretty awesome. You should have seen the expression on my face!! :-) And you finally revealed what you do (vocal coach, artist etc). I knew you had some professional experience. Keep the reactions coming. By the way, thank you for the subtitles. Makes things easier.
Hi Dave, I always appreciate your messages greatly! This reaction was a wild ride to say the least! I am glad to hear that I am entertaining haha! Planning on my next reaction already.. 😉
@@annavaskelainen Your very welcome from USA subscribed. You being Finnish have probably heard of the band Heilung if not their song In Maidjan LIFA live features Maria Franz who is an excellent vocalist
You summoned us?! Jinjer fans will be here momentarily (well, if not here already and I'm late to the party 🎉). Welcome to the beautiful world of Jinjer, I honestly believe there is no one else like them in music nowadays. Personally haven't been so excited about a new band since the grunge years in the 90s. It's easy to get caught in Tatiana's vocal skills that are of the charts indeed, but don't underestimate the rest of the guys, all of them are freaking geniuses. Fun facts, Tatiana has no formal vocal training and the drummer is a classical trained pianist. Oh, and don't expect the next song you'll listen from them to sound anywhere close to Pisces, they have no two songs alike. Thank you for the subtitles, in all fairness would have watched the video anyway, hoping to get a glimpse of a word that may sound familiar every now and then 🙃
THEIR DRUMMER IS CLASSICALLY TRAINED PIANIST?! :D oooohohoho that's interesting! I'll keep my mind open with this band. Diversity is good! Thank you for your kind comment. ❤️
@@annavaskelainenYes, he is. Check out the video of him playing Rachmaninov’s “Prelude in C# Minor (Op. 3 No. 2). Every member of this band is an extraordinary musician!
Tatiana has great control. In their song: JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019), you can hear before and after the song how exhausted she is, but not during the song.
That laughter... Wow! I mean you are good looking to start with. But when you laugh you are positively radiating. Don't ever stop laughing Anna. You are a true gift to the world.
The thing about her growls and screams that amazes me is that she still has such precise pitch and dynamics control that she can make her vocal inflections more audible so that the lyrics are intelligible. I've never heard another metal singer that had this kind of pitch control while growling. Tati is amazing. The Blessed Beast.
I’ve seen dozens of Jinjer reactions and this was far-and-away the funnest to watch, yet also most insightful. Also, @2:25 “I thought it was going to be heavier” had me laughing 😂.
Oli huikee reaktio, tattista tekijälle! Jos haluat jatkaa kovia kotimaisia reaktioklassikoita niin ehdotan Wintersun - Time (TIME I Live Rehearsals At Sonic Pump Studios)
Really great reaction, Anna. Informative and emotional at the same time. Thank you, Anna. And by the way - what a cute Finnish sounding! I rarely can hear native Finnish speaker, very rare. And I like the sound of your speech pretty much. Adorable. PS if you'd be interestend to investigate more of Tatiana's abilities - the best choice for every vocal coach is Judgment and Punishment (one take vocal performace). There're only Tatiana and the mic, stable camera position, Tatiana is standing in profile and we can see clearly every movement when she's singing.
This has probably already been said but, Tatiana stated that she isn't classically trained and she just learned it from practicing. She also never warms up her voice before she sings. I loved the fact that you pointed out that she has great diction when she growls. She is one of the few with that register of growl that you can understand. Randy Blithe from Lamb Of God also has a very similar growl. Tatiana I believe developed hers from his. She has many influences that range from pop, metal, rock, hip-hop, etc. The rest of the band are also some of the most talented musicians that I enjoy listening to. In my opinion they make music that other musicians enjoy. You should react to Judgment and Punishment vocal 1 take from Tatiana. It's one of my favorite songs from this band. I also really enjoyed your video.
Another great reaction, I love how you just started giggling in shock at Tatiana’s growls. Believe it or not she taught herself how to sing in both clean and harsh styles and has had no vocal training. 🤘🏻🙂
Each day I come home from work, put my feet up and watch the latest Jinjer reaction video. This one was delightful! I had to rewatch a few times just to see your face change to a completely different colour. Thank for the great analysis as well.
Most genuine reaction I've seen, loved watching this. Thank you for the analysis as well, very informative. Your attention to detail when you listen is awesome, you've picked up on things I've never noticed or heard any other reactors/coaches talk about. Thanks for the insight, I appreciate you
Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole! You next need to react to JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019). The ending of that video gives a glimpse of just how much breath control she has while singing.
Very good analysis of the song. I love the detail you bring to it for somebody that is less technical in this area such as myself. Great reaction! Keep them coming!.
Thank you so much Andrew! Glad you find my analysis interesting, I try to vocalize my thoughts without using too much of difficult "vocal nerd" terms! :D Thanks again for popping in and dropping me a message, hope to see you around. xx
Clicked on this Jinjer reaction on a whim. First one for me in a different language and I'm not disappointed. Thanks for the English Subtitles. Very nice production for a new channel. Saying keep up the good work from The US. Subbed!

Well, that was a very sincere reaction. Your laugh didn't lie about your feelings. Love it. I love Jinjer for almost 7 years, and this is my favorite reaction so far. Subscribed.
If you wish to see more of Tatiana's abilities, there are two videos I highly recommend : first, the one-take video of Tatiana recording the vocals for Judgement and Punishment (a good one for assessing vocal technique, because the camera stays on Tati the whole time); and, second, Jinjer's performance of Perennial live at Wacken 2019 (it's the last song of their set, and demonstrates Tati's stamina and her ability to rapidly switch between her different vocal styles).
Awesome reaction, and thank you for the subtitles! Next please, Nightwish - Yours Is An Empty Hope (wembley). I really hope you'll do this! And you'll understand why when you do it
You were right Anna, when you said “pop-rock” one of her favorite singers is Gwen Stefani, and at times it really comes through in their musical style and her vocal tonality.
I LOVE this song! I remember watching so many reaction videos for it when it first hit UA-cam, but I think your reaction is now my favorite..... lol I thought your eyes would jump right out of your head! I enjoyed your analysis as well, but your reaction itself put a smile on my face....
Your reaction is so cute that I literally typed half the video into Google Translate to understand what you were saying. Only then I realized that you could choose to have english subs instead of finnish :D
Perfect reaction, and beautiful laugh;)! Thank you for that! Beautiful language as well- and, of course, wonderful and insightful observations! Thank you for your teaching, and for keeping an open mind! Jinjer is an amazing band, and very much so live as well! Tatiana is the real deal! Take care❤️😉
Best reaction to Jinjer to date! And how you gather yourself to analyze the rest so splendidly after the shock 😀 You are such a vibrant and positive person, so would love to see you react to Katzenjammer. Hey ho, on the devils back is incredible. Live from Hamburg. The best girlband ever!
How did I not see this before now? Your reaction to her "change" was AWESOME!!! Tatiana has EVERYBODY shook. I'm glad that I finally saw your reaction. Now I can actually say that your reaction was very familiar to everyone else's. Ya, she is that awesome.
Hi Anna, wonderful reaction because you didn't do any research on this song & when you were surprised by Tatiana's unique talent it was genuine. Thank you for giving your illuminating insights on Tatiana's vocal skills. The surprise is why everyone recommends this song & everyone wants to see/relive what they looked like when they first saw this MV. Please can you look into a band called "The Hu" and their song "Wolf Totem" same rules as Pisces.
Love Jinjer :) Great reaction. It never gets old watching people react to this song :) And thanks for the English subs. I love watching vocal coaches react to Jinjer and Tatiana's vocal ability. It's interesting what each coach points out and with different perspectives. I like your commentary. I've seen a lot of these videos for this song from vocal coaches and you added some new things and reinforced other things. I like that you pointed out the excellence of the musicians and how that must make it great for Tatiana. Eugene, Roman, and Vlad create a great platform for Tatiana's vocals. It's just an awesome combination. This song is all about the duality of Pisces and it has personal application for Tatiana and Eugene (he's the bassists - he helped write some of it - they are both Pisces). Tatiana said it's a very personal song as well as I Speak Astronomy. Definitely don't overlook their lyrics. They are poetic, deep, and meaningful. Tatiana puts a lot of effort into them (she writes the lyrics and vocal lines - with some exceptions). Considering English is her third language, that makes it even more impressive. The band is: Tatiana - vocals Eugene - bassist Roman - guitarist Vlad - drummer As other people have suggested for next songs: Perennial: Live at Wacken Open Air 2019 - ua-cam.com/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. Has some great soaring long notes and vocal switching between styles. One of my favorite songs. Judgement (& Punishment): Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance - ua-cam.com/video/Q5rg_63Shqg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JinjerMetalBand. A great video to see her up close and it's a one take, so that's impressive as well. Great switching between vocal styles in this video. Another favorite :) I Speak Astronomy: Official Video - ua-cam.com/video/KJoPIgg17U4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Live in Melbourne 2020 - ua-cam.com/video/vHLouXKjTNQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. The official video is really cool. The Live in Melbourne version is the best live version I've seen (great audio). This is an awesome song and has some long high belts and soft singing with a couple extreme vocal lines. There are so many other songs that are awesome (I honestly love all their songs), but this is a good start. They have a few songs that are all clean vocals and no extreme vocals, Bad Water (grungy/bluesy), Beggar's Dance (outro to King of Everything LP - jazzy), Prologue (intro to King of Everything LP - sort of an ominous vibe to it), liannereP (outro to Macro - sort of ambient/electronica using some of the mellower parts of Perennial). Bad Water is the only one that has a live video and music video. The other three just have audio only videos with the album cover art (not great from a reaction perspective, but great to check out on your own). Really lets you see the musical flexibility of the whole band. They don't fit into any genre. Bad Water (no extreme vocals): Official Live Video (Kiev 2017) - ua-cam.com/video/uyByj5F9ZjQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Official Music Video - ua-cam.com/video/cEOMJAyaV7M/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JinjerMetalBand Prologue (no extreme vocals - album intro): Official audio w/album cover art - ua-cam.com/video/O65C-QPOXL0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic Beggar's Dance (no extreme vocals - album outro): Official audio w/album cover art - ua-cam.com/video/m3C69to3Ufg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic liannereP (album outro - great pseudo ambient sound - no extreme vocals): Official audio w/album cover art - ua-cam.com/video/b8c2Mxwtty0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic And for some songs that have some heavy extreme vocals in them: Who is Gonna Be the One: Live at Atlas 2017 - ua-cam.com/video/U6rv5qi8-8s/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. Awesome performance. Love this song. Pit of Consciousness: Official Music Video - ua-cam.com/video/7f353euyRno/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Live in Kiev 2019 (great quality) - ua-cam.com/video/vEhxuNuHWls/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. Another of my top Jinjer songs and both videos are great. Home Back: Official Video - ua-cam.com/video/0t_I_ghmXIQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. A very personal song about war and their own experience with the war that broke out in eastern Ukraine where they are from in 2014. They had to leave their home. Retrospection: Official Music Video - ua-cam.com/video/Wh2yOebcENM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. An awesome song dedicated to their parents and friends that helped them get to where they are in life and their fans. A very personal song for them. Much more to say about this, but I'll put that in the comments of the video if you react to it.
Wowww such an in-depth-comment, much appreciated, thank you for that and your kind words! 😊❤️ I have to raise my hat to the band. They are just phenomenal. A lot of your suggestions have been brought to my attention already, they are coming in the near future for sure! Hope to see you around! xx

I have just started going through your videos and it finally clicked that you are from Finland and many of my favorite bands are from your country. I’m American, but the majority of what I listen to is from Europe. It all started with searching for Melodic Death Metal and, even though it’s birthplace is Sweden, most my favorite bands in that genre are Finnish. I love anything from Tuomas Saukkonen (Before the Dawn, The Final Harvest, Black Sun Aeon, Dawn of Solace, and Wolfheart), Insomnium, Mors Principiun Est, Norther (with Petri Lindroos but don’t care for Ensiferum), and Omnium Gatherum. There are other bands I listen to from there, but it’s 3:30 in the morning and I need to pass out. However, it’s nice seeing someone experience Tatiana for the first time. It’s one of those life changing moments because everyone reacts the same way: “That can’t be coming from her. This has to be fake. Oh, wait, it’s real!” You are one smart cookie because you already knew something was off when you were being wooed by a tiny and pretty ladies soft and beautiful voice. I used to think Angela Gossow was the Queen of Metal, but when she stepped down and made Alissa White-Gluz her replacement, I started listening to Jinjer and Tatiana took the title. Angela didn’t use clean vocals and nobody could match her growl…until Tatiana showed the world you could scream and growl like a demon, but sing like an angel. Also. I’m really enjoying reading the subtitles because I would rather see and hear you excited and just speaking freely without trying to think of the words in English. Great breakdown/reaction and I’ll keep going through your channel. I’m looking forward to see what else you check out.
Yes, Finland has a lot of great bands in the heavier side! 😊 I really enjoyed doing this reaction. And "Vortex" s well, daumnnn that is a great song!! Thank you for your comment, I'll continue with my mix-language approach thehehehh 😂 It's good fun as well. have a great weekend! xx
Jes!

Hahaha glad you liked the absolute shock I had when Tati showed her other side! 😂
Be well Gary! xx
One of the best reactions to Tatiana I’ve seen. Your breakdown of her technique offered lots of fresh insight. Thanks.
Thank you so much ! xx
Her one take vocal of their song Judgement and Punishment would be a good reaction for you
Thx for the tip!

@@jimmorris67 that's awesome. Alas, I'm not in a position to travel this year. I'm lucky that Jinjer is coming to Seattle.

And "guys what have you done to me" I heard that, in very clear English in fact.
@@MoMoMyPup10 I never said my english is bad. 😉

There're only Tatiana and the mic, stable camera position, Tatiana is standing in profile and we can see clearly every movement when she's singing.
hahaha thank you! What a sweet comment!
And thanks for the tip. 👍
Thank you!
Thanks for reacting to Jinjer 😁👍👍 hopefully this will lead to many others. Fantastic creative group with an amazing vocalist
Another great reaction, I love how you just started giggling in shock at Tatiana’s growls. Believe it or not she taught herself how to sing in both clean and harsh styles and has had no vocal training.

Good recommendations! Both veru suggested also. 😊👍🎵

@@annavaskelainen Thank you for putting my suggestion on your list.
The band is:
Tatiana - vocals
Eugene - bassist
Roman - guitarist
Vlad - drummer
As other people have suggested for next songs:
Perennial: Live at Wacken Open Air 2019 - ua-cam.com/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords.
Another favorite :)
I Speak Astronomy: Official Video - ua-cam.com/video/KJoPIgg17U4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Live in Melbourne 2020 - ua-cam.com/video/vHLouXKjTNQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords.
Bad Water (no extreme vocals): Official Live Video (Kiev 2017) - ua-cam.com/video/uyByj5F9ZjQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Official Music Video - ua-cam.com/video/cEOMJAyaV7M/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JinjerMetalBand
Prologue (no extreme vocals - album intro): Official audio w/album cover art - ua-cam.com/video/O65C-QPOXL0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic
Beggar's Dance (no extreme vocals - album outro): Official audio w/album cover art - ua-cam.com/video/m3C69to3Ufg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic
liannereP (album outro - great pseudo ambient sound - no extreme vocals): Official audio w/album cover art - ua-cam.com/video/b8c2Mxwtty0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic
And for some songs that have some heavy extreme vocals in them:
Who is Gonna Be the One: Live at Atlas 2017 - ua-cam.com/video/U6rv5qi8-8s/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords.

OMG this is delicious! Perfect song, classic reaction, excellent knowledge and instruction, gorgeous woman speaking one of the most beautiful languages!! This is pure beauty. I'm in reaction-video-fan heaven. I'm less than a minute in and I think I might have found the Holy Grail lol.
I've become an even bigger fan of Finnish since discovering IKINÄ, an amazing band from Finland featuring TWO badass female singer/screamers. They sing strictly in Finnish, and it's gorgeous. I've become obsessed with the sound.
'I feel the song has a lot more to offer ...' .. yep, a gift that keeps on giving :-D
hahahahaha
I love, love, loved your reaction. It may be one of my favorites for this song. The laughter made me laugh.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your English is very smooth when you transition from English to Finnish. Very good feedback!
Aww thank you Kakashi!
Wow, what a trip. Your Johnny Cash 'Hurt' (one of my favourite songs) reaction popped up in my feed and I really enjoyed your analysis so I thought I'd check out bands/artists that I knew nothing about and thought I'd give Jinjer a listen. I've got to admit my reaction when she transitioned into the growl was much like yours, 'where the hell did that come from, an angelic voice switches to Regan Macneil from the film The Exorcist in a seemingly effortless transition'. Your analysis of Hi Ren is the most intelligent and informative I've seen. Love how you mix music theory with the mechanics of the voice. I know I'm a bit late to the Anna party but hey, better late than never. Subscribed.

hahahaa I'm glad you liked it. 😂 Thank you for your comment, hyvää uutta vuotta! xx
Wow, ok, my first time actually hearing Finnish being spoken and it's so weird to me. Let me explain, when I was a child I used to be fluent in Hungarian, I've sadly forgotten most of it but the sound and intonation are still very familiar and dear to me. Now listening to you speaking Finnish sounds to me like Hungarian spoken with a heavy Spanish accent. Weird, I know.
Super interesting!
They actually come from the same root language, which is why they share similarities.
I watched this twice. The first time without subs and the second with. Great job Anna! This is an amazing song to introduce people to Jinjer and Tatiana's talented voice. Please consider reacting to Tati's one take vocal performance of Jinjer's "Judgement and Punishment". It is amazing as well. With love from the USA🥰
