@@kalaibeck2690 you can see the guides if you take off the valve cover, super easy to check and when I did I saw that mine were long gone so it saved me from engine failure

I have the LCE pro headers and was gona have the rest welded but didnt have the idea to just go full bolt on. Thank you for posting bro. Excellent vid and luv to see more on your build. Just another LCE fan looking for more tips and learning as I go.
This is a pretty clean install and extremely detailed on how and what to expect. Great video! My dad ages ago had a similar p'up truck and had I been more interested back then, I would have loved to do the same thing as you did to yours. It was a fun 4 banger and one of those trucks that you could just toss whatever in the back and not really worry about it. I am from Hawaii so back then that truck was a beach truck whenever I had my hands on it. I loved the burn-out dude at the end, did not expect to see that! LOL, spin them tires!! Thanks for sharing!!
I added this Header to my 1989 SR5 Pickup with a Flowmaster muffler, I also purchased a LCE larger valve head (smog legal) and modified my airbox increasing the airflow intake, my truck is pretty fun to drive now, Its screamer for sure, next I will add a lighter flywheel, then I'm done!
Northwest Offroads header is tri-y Better for lower rpm use. LC is a racecar engine place and few people drive their 22R at 4,000-6,000 rpm that the 4 into 1 is engineered for.
I'm betting the torque increase is from having the back pressure from the cat, but I'm sure this exhaust helped all around. I just ordered the header kit for my 91
Well, the long tube header is longer and drops lower than the stock exhaust manifold as well as having a 2 1/4 in collector so it will not match up to a stock exhaust system. So I would say you ought to do the entire system at the same time
Well one thing to remember is that Weber's have a different intake. Weber's do have the potential to make more power and will shift the power band but they tend to require a lot of adjustment. I stuck with the stock carb mostly for convenience.
Have you ever had issues with your exhaust hitting the torsion bar, right after the header flange? I’m installing same setup and the exhaust seems pretty close to the torsion bar.
Yeah I have. I'm also having issues where it's hitting the rear shock. I need to make some new mounts to get it better positioned but recently have not had time
You're right, I've had it off for a while. I had to replace the rotating assembly at 321k and on the removal a bolt snapped. I knew I was going wo th this exhaust eventually so I left it off
These indestructible 22 R and the 22RE we’ll always make that sound because of the solid lifters hitting the rocker control arms it’s the nature of the beast to sound like that even with perfect Value adjustments
Have you had any issues with not having a heat shield on the headers, like the OEM exhaust manifold? My other question is how was the fit on U-bolt near the header joint by the bell housing
So there are two locations for the o2 sensor. One in the pipe where I added the block off plate and the other in the extended tube that I cut down. Now, I added the block off plate because I currently have the stock 2bl carburetor with no o2 sensor being used. However, I may be adding a different intake in the future and will need to add an o2 sensor
Could I just cut and use the pipe instead of putting a cat in ? Would that make it louder or no? Got a 92 single cab with lce headers and I’d like mine to be loud
Yes, I think you could just bolt it together without the cat. It's a high flow cat so mine is still pretty throaty but without one I'd imagine it would be even louder.
Yes! I believe it should be long enough for the extra can but definitely for 4x4. Link to product-www.lceperformance.com/Pro-Flow-Exhaust-System-22R-RE-3VZ-2WD-4WD-1985-p/1042000.htm
@@redcaddy99 I would consider these long tubes considering how long the pipes are leading the collector. If you're interested in this header, LCE makes them for 2wd and 4wd applications. Just make sure you have the correct one selected
Hey I haven’t installed yet..exaust manifold stud broken off in head. I plan on using arp studs.. Just brought new 31 in tires noticed a drop in power I’m desperate to install the header..I also has other lce goodies block off plates
The 22r is around 100 hp. I have not dyno tested it but stock is around 95 hp and the long tube header and exhaust should free up a few more hp's. The 22r is not really a power house of an engine but they run through war zones and have really long life's with a lot of reliability
I dont think so. 22r's are notoriously noisy but I suspect during the filming it was valves and perhaps lower oil in the engine(?). I routinely check the valves and keep the valve cover from being too tight where it can cause the chain to slap the valve cover.

Do you think you need to get it tuned? I got an 93 pickup and want to grab one
Is it possible to just replace the header and do the rest of the exhaust at a later date? Or do you pretty much have to do it all in one go?
Well, the long tube header is longer and drops lower than the stock exhaust manifold as well as having a 2 1/4 in collector so it will not match up to a stock exhaust system. So I would say you ought to do the entire system at the same time
Does the check engine light come on because it has no o2 sensors. I definitely can’t do this in California
Was the tube that went into the manifold and egr tube and do you need a plate to block that off or does it come with it or it’s a non issue?
those headers with flowmaster is what im gonna do
Is it good to get a weber carburetor or stay with the stock carburetor

So what about the EGR? Looks like you just have it open in the bay with the new header on. No cap/plug?
Currently uncapped but there are upgrades coming for the intake which does away with the system EGR entirely

Do the 20r and the 22r have matching header fitment?
I think the ports will align but I don't think the studs are in the same location. I don't have a 20r so I'm not able to confirm
How much did you pay for the complete exhaust? Cat included?
$1,200….$500 for headers….$450 for exhaust system…..and $200 for the cat.
How much did these headers cost? And is putting new studs necessary or did you do that out of personal preference?
Need to whip the old feeler gauge out and adjust the valve clearances, but cool video!
How is it at like 3.5k RPM on the highway? I imagine the drone is unbearable
did the new studs come with the headers?
No, I believe they're sold separately
