@@maxpain9111 It's not right, but I couldn't ever figure out what it was. Make sure your valves are adjusted, check for exhaust leaks, and just run it.
@@maxpain9111 most of the time I see it is valve train noise from rockers not properly adjusted and some from cam love profiles that are not as smooth closing so the ramp rate is very fast which will cause valve slap. This can be controlled by properly setting valve lash, to some extent.
Perfect, Thank you for helping me decide, sounds smooth and enjoyable to drive. I know I'm going with LCE Headers for my 88' 22re but just trying to pick the right muffler for back pressure for my not so stock 4x4.
Sounds super nice! Also, my truck doesn’t have a tach, and I now know I need to back the speed down on the highway cause my RPM’s on the highway are above 4K at 75 mpg
damn I have an old full length header/chambered muffler/ 2" tubing and it sounds like it wants to rattle itself to death about 3000 RPM. How does your sound so smooth up there??
I'm just happy to hear that your 22re goes "tap-tap-tap-tap" as well.
Did a cam swap and that went away on mine. Lol and no it made no difference in power on the ol gal.
Is the tap tap tap sound a healthy sound ?

@@sav300 thank you I’ve got a 1985 pickup with 22r no noise at all . Just picked it up with 199k on her
damn sounds like the perfect balance of improved sound and volume without all annoying rasp and ricer volume. Nice truck man
Thanks I appreciate it!
*_These built 22R's are so sick!_* I love the build! Man that truck is so clean.
Thank You! I have tons of content coming out soon on the motor rebuild!
@@konradysspeedshop9700 *_Lets gooo!_*
Getting behind the land cruiser at the end was the move. Great video bro
Thank You!!

I definitely don't recommend their Pro Flow Exhaust. I had a Flowmaster FX on before and it sounded good!
I tried a flowmaster 40 on my 22re, sounds amazing, recommend it
That thing sounds sweet!
Nice ride..Sounds awesome to me hope can get one of those Toyota trucks like yours
sounds so good!
Did that tapping sound go away when you rebuilt your motor?.
22RE are known to tick, might need a tighter valve adjustment, or sometimes going from 5w30 to 10w30 helps very slightly.
Funky town is correct. The valve adjustment was not in spec but these motors are a little sewing machine
I would adjust your valves one or two sound a hair on the loose side. Sounds great other than that though!
I have a 86 22RE I was wondering what headers and muffler you would recommend ? Love the content and super sick truck 🤙🏽
The best header on the market for the 22re is the LCE header. I would go custom cat back and maybe a Flowmaster 40

Thank you! You should do the dash upgrade!
thanks for sharing and very nice truck! I'm running same exhaust with stage 3 yoota1 engine a 10.1 pistons but I think mine sounds way better lol
Nice truck bro 😍🇫🇷
Thank you!
Is this muffler the one that came with pro flow catback package?
Yes it is. Long term I’m not a huge fan of it but it does the job
The exhaust sounds nice!! but I would fix the speedo cable or center support bearing that is making noise :)
The cable was fixed there's a video of the install!

Not too sure. Have theLCE header with their pro flow.
suspension setup?
I am running 31s on sr5 wheels with a slight torsion crank to match the rear. Bilstein 4600s all around and a pro comp add a leaf for the rear sag
She sounds a little sick did I see black smoke on the cold start rev?
just white smoke
dude are they for sale?
Nice truck where can I get a dash cover like that??
To be quite honest the original owner had this on I'm guessing since off the lot. I've seen some on rockauto but don't know their quality that much
Rock Auto, Quality is just fine
Did you keep the cat or is it a test pipe
Cat is there
KICKER SONY 22RE HEADER JGN MINI MACHINES MAQUINAS CREW MONSTER SPORT TOM CLARK
I take it you had stock intake?
Yes stock intake
How high were those RPMs?
Up to 4k
Bro you need to adjust those valves buddy
I know!! right after this video, I started a complete rebuild. Doing new adjustment screws as well.
@@konradysspeedshop9700 nice I just built a 20/22r hybrid for my 81
You really need to take care of that carrier bearing. It is screaming at you dude!
saldy my truck is cable driven. had the issue fixed right after! such a difference lol
Sounds like that thing needs a timing chain ASAP
More of valve adjustment.
the engine is louder
Bruh get a new belt lol
hmm I dont see what you mean belt?
