Thanks for the effort, but as Black Sabbath fan I can tell you that this sounds nothing like his kit. Definitely should have kept the rack tom, opened up the bass drum more, and gone with a different snare. Maybe with some coated skins. Also, he tunes his drums tighter than you'd think. Similar to Bonham.
I think you should increase the range by a bit I think drums is a more expensive instrument so I don’t think it makes sense to match the price of the guitar version. The guitars the guys pick out are mid range where as here I think they are lower range which doesn’t give the diversity and options as the mid range and I’ll think it make it more interesting than okay well get a mapex armoury or mars the same brand cymbals the guy plays and a snare which is the same size
Cheers guys love BlackSabbath. ...I started listening to them in the 80s so I'm still late as a fan....but wow just listening to all the modern metal bands (the good ones) you can hear the influence
Well this is off, soooo here's my take on it. Ludwig maple kit- 22x16 ( slight muffling) 13x9 16x16 18x16 Tom's tuned medium to high tension. Snare tuned medium to low tension. Standard size cymbals really just pick out an older sounding 50s line Zildjian k's, paiste giant beat ect. Long live Sabbath. \m/
How about doing Panteras Vinnie Paul , in my eyes the ultimate Modern Metal Drummer...or Slayers original drummer would be cool...thanks guys great vid...I was jamming along with the drummer....
This is awesome guys. I'm glad your doing a drum version of this in conjunction with the guitar one. Drum sounds are just as important than guitar sounds
Love the floor toms as rack toms for this kit and the huge Pearl snare. The weak point is those Sabian cymbals. I really don’t like the sound of those. I think Zildjian or Meinl would have been much better choice. The Paiste pst EFX cymbal range is fantastic. Granted not really appropriate for Bill Ward drum sound I’ll readily admit. Check out the Bill Ward Reverb shop video of him telling the stories about the gear he was selling. The Zildjian cymbals from the first album the 18” crash/ride that War Pigs was recorded with. Then the 2 double bass kits the beautiful Ludwig double 26” bass drums and the Ringo star similar color kit. Then the green premiere double 26” bass drums, that 8x14” snare drum. That snare sounded beautiful 😻 Bill even comments on it very fast/high action. Hopefully that gear does not sit in a museum. It would be nice for it to still make music with. The Zildjian’s from 60’s from first album, maybe should be in museum so some idiot playing too hard on them and break them would truly be a Sin.
I would have gone for a Gretsch catalina club in big sizes with the rounded bearing edges to get that Slingerland kind of sound. Pretty sure they come with coated heads as stock. Then put some Stagg classic series cymbals with it.
I agree wholeheartedly. The feel was wrong. The kit doesn’t have anything near to Bill Wards tone. It should be called, how NOT to sound like Bill Ward.
Matt Helders(Arctic Monkeys), Patrick Carney (Black Keys), QuestLove (The Roots), Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy), Steve Jordan (John Mayer Trio) PLEASE!!!
I am a huge Bill Ward fan. I would have rather you guys not attempted to sound like him at all because this video and especially the guy who did the drumming was absolutely trash lol. Sounded absolutely nothing like Bill.
I'm just glad to see anyone giving Bill the attention he deserves.
amen!
One half of one of the greatest rhythm sections of all time
Apart from the comments it needs to be black lol. I think of white with flowers when i think of Bill
Those XSR hats actually sound really really good. I'm impressed
Those are made of b20 alloy, like all hi-end cymbals
I have a set of xsr and they're very nice

In his early days, he never used reso side heads, and he tuned his toms real high. This sound nothing like Bill Ward’s kit
Snare is far too low as well
Also, the snare wires are to lose
Yeah, way off, no comparison at all. Nice that Bill Ward's still being thought of though.
Maybe Bill Ward on a budget? No,not really that either
It’s sound like not sound identical

QOTSA have some killer drum sounds
Especially the early records
Well this is off, soooo here's my take on it.
Ludwig maple kit-
22x16 ( slight muffling)
13x9
16x16
18x16
Tom's tuned medium to high tension.
Snare tuned medium to low tension.

Long live Sabbath. \m/
Agreed, it's like they just chose random drums and cymbals and just went for a standard hard rock sound.
How about doing Panteras Vinnie Paul , in my eyes the ultimate Modern Metal Drummer...or Slayers original drummer would be cool...thanks guys great vid...I was jamming along with the drummer....
Noted!
@@AndertonsDrumDept yep! Vinnie, would be great...and just for fun How about some old school Alex Van Halen in there also...(no budget:) lol
I would have loved something on the earlier days, like the first two albums with the Ludwig kit, but this is good too
Geez with the prices for cymbals and stuff you can't really sound like any drummer without busting the bank
You can always find something cheap on Facebook Marketplace and eBay
Sounds nothing like Bill or his Kit ... but Bill is the man.
This is awesome guys.
I'm glad your doing a drum version of this in conjunction with the guitar one.
Drum sounds are just as important than guitar sounds
If you're going for Master of Reality sounding drums, sure. The earlier recordings, Bill used higher tensions. So somewhat correct!
Sound like Cozy Powell and Nicko McBrain
Standout cymbal? The Paiste Rock ride, awesome.
Paiste forever
Please do bill Ward again and do him justice this time
Stopped at 3:54.That is not how he played Paranoid at all.
First drum part sounded like War Pigs. Had to slow it down 25% to get the right vibe. Hint: never speed up a Sabbath song
Bill’s toms were tuned high.

Jeff Porcaro from TOTO please
you should partner with the guitar dep. to do a sounds like a band eg green day
in one longer vid and play as a group
I would have gone for a Gretsch catalina club in big sizes with the rounded bearing edges to get that Slingerland kind of sound. Pretty sure they come with coated heads as stock. Then put some Stagg classic series cymbals with it.
I love your sound likes. Could you please do Dave Grohl of either Queens of The Stone Age( Songs for The Deaf), Foo Fighters or Nirvana.
Sound like Ginger Baker
Alex, agreed.Bill Ward is pretty good.
Great drummer too. Listen to the wizard... Wow
Req Sound Like Hellhammer (Mayhem)
Cymbal stand hardware?
neither the sound of the kit nor the playing sounded anything like Bill Ward.
Guys should do sound like Alex Van Halen
hello
This does not sound like Bill Ward lmao, glad you're giving him attention though.
Shannon larkin
Wa?? Not even close
this entire thing was an utter waste of everyone's time. 4 ears between them and they don't hear a single thing Bill Ward ever did
busting the bank bill ward
When I think of Black Sabbath drums I think of a muffled/deadened punchy sound. Almost no reso
Early sabbath bills drums weren't that big compared to his later suzes, and the first 4/5 albums bill used super 5 star zyns
Do dave grohl nirvana era
there is no black sabbath without a cowbell :P
I am a huge Bill Ward fan. I would have rather you guys not attempted to sound like him at all because this video and especially the guy who did the drumming was absolutely trash lol. Sounded absolutely nothing like Bill.
I would rather see all of these, including the guitar ones, with higher budgets! I wanna see some expensive ass nice cymbals
Don't worry, "BY BUSTINGS" coming soon!
£1413.50 ? So that means you got a hat stand AND a kick pedal with the remaining £86.50?
Comes with hardware
Vinnie Paul
I'm glad I'm playing guitar :D
Watching this video was a total waste of time. Nor the sound, nor the drumming has nothing to be with Bill Ward.
Ginger Baker
drum wise. your dead on with the sound
Ugh..
I have more money in just hardware than your budget increase your budget to 2500-3000$
Wow! Sabian XSR actually sounds pretty bad!
no it does not, it sounds pretty good
Sounds like Sabian
@@KeeperOfPoops I think in America bad means good , and sick means great .God bless the poor English language 🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️
