Thank you so much for also going into some of the options on the app. Those were the details I was wondering about and few other reviews I have read or watched haven't even show the app in use or screenshots. This is a fantastic and informative review of the hatch restore, thank you so much!
You're welcome April! I'm very happy to hear the video and app sections were useful. I sometimes wonder whether I spend too long on details like a device's app settings and bore people, so it's always good to know those parts are appreciated:-)
New subscriber here. Your video’s have been so helpful so far. Have been binging for hours. Please don’t stop creating them. Thank you for all the work you’ve put into this channel.
That's great to hear! I think you're the first person to say they've been binging my videos - that's quite a compliment! As long as people keep watching them, I'll do my best to keep making them:-)
I’m very sensitive to the sound of the end/beginning of loops for sound machines and it wakes me up. Is it obvious when the loop ends and begins again?
It depends what sound you're listening to. For stories and music, yes. For constant noise, not really. Honestly though, I haven't listened to all the sounds on it for some time, so can't remember exactly which ones have more noticeable loops. But it's definitely better than standard low-cost white noise machines.
Hello thank you so much for this ! Do you know if the new version (restore 2) has almost all the same options as this one. And just to clarify the restore connects via wifi without a cable ? Thanks for your answer
You're welcome! I haven't used the Restore 2 yet, so couldn't tell you. Yes it connects without a cable to WiFi, but does need to be plugged in for power as there's no internal battery.
Sorry about that! I sometimes play all the sounds when I review white noise machines, but for tech like this with so many features to go through, I have to balance video length with demonstrations. I might not always get that balance right - it's a tricky one!
I just bought one for my mom and after downloading the app on the apple I can not find the couple of free unwind choices. I've had mine for 2 years on an android app and I have the free unwind options. Any thoughts? Do they not have the couple of free options anymore?
Honestly, I'm not sure because mine is set up with the additional options and I can't switch back and forth to see what is currently available for free. I'd message the company to ask them.
Thanks for your review. I would like to buy a bodyclock for myself. I'm watching your reviews and I'm already in a fuss. Please advise which model would be the best. I love the light, the sun, and now I have a dark, sunless bedroom and it's hard for me to wake up. I have recently been living in cloudy Ireland and I miss the sun.
Hi Dorota, you're welcome! Honestly, I think there are lots of good ones, so it's a case of weighing up your budget and the extra features you think you would actually use. I like the Hatch Restore, but don't like the premium membership option. I really like the Lumie Bodyclock range, and the Lumie Bodyclock Shine 300 is the one I'm currently using at home while I'm not testing any others mainly because the light is great and it's so simple to use. But if you're the kind of person who likes an app with loads of extra features, meditations, sounds, multiple colours etc, then perhaps the Hatch Restore would be better for you. And if you think you'd use the radio, and want DAB rather than FM, maybe explore one of the more recent Lumie range.
I just bought this yesterday and am frustrated with the app. This was a great video, but I'm still unclear on one thing...can you set an automated schedule for sleep? I see the routine features, but it doesn't have clock seetings for each one, is that correct?
Hi. You set lengths of time for each part of the routine, then you need to set the start time for the entire routine or start in manually. It then calculates what time each new part of the routine begins based on the start of the entire process if you have multiple steps. So you don't need to manually calculate what time each bit begins.
@@nosleeplessnights1 Thank you for the reply! I can't seem to find the way to set the start time. I think my app might be different? I'm on Android...maybe I'll do some more research. Surprisingly, the Hatch website has almost zero info on "how to" for this product...Cheers!
Hi! Thank you for your review. You mentioned you need Bluetooth connection. Does your phone have to be in range of the hatch for this to work? One reason I’m interested in a hatch is to use my phone less at night, so I was thinking I’d like to charge my phone overnight in a completely separate room if possible. I was thinking in the kitchen, which is on the opposite side of the house. Can that work?
You're welcome Anita. Yes, you can have the phone in another room once you've got the settings up and running that you want. So in theory, you can use the App on your phone to adjust the settings, then leave your phone switched off in another room if you want.
Hi, just got my hatch restore and am very frustrated so far. I am unable to edit the duration time for the unwind parts of the routine. EVERY time I edit & save, it goes right back to 1 hour. So stressful, I can't get to sleep. Ha! Any ideas? Thanks
The Hatch Restore can be a bit tricky to set up sometimes, and it may be the order you're going through the settings that's the problem. It may also just be a glitch. I'd Google ' how to factory reset the Hatch Restore' and give that a go. You could also contact their customer services. Failing that, send it back for a refund. I hope you find a solution, whichever way you go.
Thanks, this is such a well done, comprehensive but to-the-point video. I currently have a Phillips 3520, and while I do like it, I wish that I could tweak the color temperature a bit so that it introduces cooler white earlier, at a lower brightness. It sounds trivial but minor things do make a difference to sleepy brains!
Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate it! I agree that the color options, color temperatures, and brightness levels can make a big difference to how much you enjoy these lights. There are so many of them now, it's worth hunting for the one that has the right settings for you.
I got one, it’s not bad. Speakers could be better, It should let you set the night routine to go off automatically like the morning alarm, and the monthly subscription is a negative. Unfortunately most competitors products also have their own downsides. I am thinking about swapping it for the Phillips smart sleep connect.
Thanks for your comment and thoughts! I agree the monthly subscription is a negative. More and more sleep tech products seem to come with a subscription, which is a shame in my view. Let me know if you do get that one if you like it!

Welcome back. Neat light!
Thank you! I think neat is a good word to describe it.

Amazing thorough review. Thank you
I'm glad you liked it Johan - thanks for the positive feedback!
There is no SATURDAY available, to set an alarm for Saturday?!
There should be! I don't know what you might be doing wrong to not see a weekend option.
Great review but I was hoping you'd example all the sounds that come default

My app looks completely different. Is there a way to get mine to look like yours? I don’t have the thunder option or the sunset settings
Did you pay for the premium subscription? That's probably why the app looks different if you haven't.
Thanks, this is such a well done, comprehensive but to-the-point video.

Is the light completely off during night?
Yes if you program it that way.
Thank you! This is helpful :)
That's great to hear - glad you liked the video:-)
