I understand why they cut this scene, it would have immediately diminished the threat and impact of the Riddler, knowing a better scarier villain is right around the corner.
Exactly! but nevertheless its a powerful scene on its own
This was a great scene. Im glad they released it but you're totally right. The snippet we got of him in the end was enough to set up another movie without taking away from the riddler.
It's also an embarrassingly obvious crib from Thomas Harris.
You talking about teenage joker?
Tbh Riddler was the weakest part of the movie. I think they should have kept it in.
"Maybe he's a fan of yours?". I like how the Joker seems like he is trolling Batman, but instead, he actually gave Batman the right answer straight away.
How did he give him the right answer?
@@felldoh9271because Batman’s action movie inspired the riddler to take the actions he does in the film. And when they finally talk he thinks they’re on the same side
@@joshbkimmusicbut riddler thinks they're on the same side because batman had been helping him the entire movie
@joshua Yeah but how does this let Batman know who the Riddler is?
@@joshbkimmusicthis was a good twist in the movie, that in the end he didn’t know Batman was Bruce Wayne. Or at least that was my take.
How do we know if he’s “damaged” if he doesn’t have “damaged” tattooed on his forehead?

he always knows how to push the right buttons with batman and get under his skin, barry will do an amazing job as the joker in the future films, he’s such an underrated actor plus he was amazing in this scene and absolutely terrifying, im excited to see what matt reeves does with his interpretation of the character
@@whitemamba061yes barry is amazing in every movie he's in. Future legend
Nahhhh fr tho
Yup but he is right

This makes the joker scene that made it into the movie so much better knowing that he's already seen riddlers psych profile and knows EXACTLY what to say and what buttons to push to manipulate and recruit him. Matt Reves put on a masterclass 👏
Theres a Joker scene in the Movie?
@@MeinGoobbyXI yeah at the end, riddler and joker talk and then laugh together
That what I thought too bro. Genius move to keep this as a deleted scene and release it a month later. I can’t wait to see what direction this adaptation of the joker takes on. Predicting it’s going to be very sinister judging from how the riddler was written
This propably didn't happen in official movie universe. This scene got removed for a reason right
@@ogryzek_irl4352 Without spoiling anything for those who haven’t seen the movie, this scene would have taken place earlier on, probably around the 45 minute - hour mark. I think this scene definitely happened in the movie’s plot despite being a deleted scene, and we will get more background information as new reports come out about The Batman 2
I love how you can feel that the Batman is somewhat unnerved by the joker, funny considering Joker's the only person who isn't unnerved by Batman
I love this take on the joker
@@VORIANYT me as well
Really sells how…dangerous The Joker is.
This isn’t the silver age quipster, this a genuinely deranged man who’s motives are unknowable. I half-expected him to do something messed up with the paperclip from the folder, lol.
@@lordbauer5983 did he put the paper clip back or does he hide it and use it later to open his handcuffs?
@@domidrip4837 Now that you mention it, the paperclip is missing when he hands it back! I had to slow the video down to .25x speed to even get a good look at the folder.
So not only did he start teasing Batman to get under his skin, but also to distract him from the swipe! This shows how green Batman still is for making such a rookie mistake.
"You're so much more fun" is such a Joker thing to say. I love how most of Batman's main villains don't want to kill him cause thanks to Batman, they have a sense of purpose in their lives
and they know he won’t kill them either. it’s his one rule
That specific line of dialogue was SCARY similar to dark knight jokers dialogues in a good way. I agree it sounds exactly like something joker would say.
"Kill you? I dont want to Kill you... You Complete Me"
This scene is perfect as a deleted scene, if it was in the movie it would've stolen the attention from the riddler, but releasing it as a deleted scene made it canon in the universe and we can expect more also the last minute is just... amazing i think barry has a lot of potential for the next films
Nothing that wasn't in the theatrical release can be considered canon

Yep cos that story hasnt been told 5000 times already you poo jabber.
What they brewing is another movie maybe 2 then a full reboot just like they always do

@@willjbainbridge8947 what do you mean it doesn't convey his high level of intelligence. He was spot on why the riddler was sending the cards to batman. Joker really didn’t even look at the file and he was spot on. So to me it conveyed his high level of intelligence.

One thing I love is how Joker is blurry for Batman, but Batman is crystal clear for Joker. Batman has yet to understand Joker, but Joker has already figured out Batman.
Just caught that
Except for who’s under the mask, which the Riddler figured out. I bet that makes our “favorite” clown jealous.
Ooo nice catch
Ni siquiera matt reeves sabia eso.
Also when he tells Batman "Deep down you think they deserved it"
the shot is clear.
Omg the end is amazing. "You're not sure if he's wrong. You think they deserved it". Wow, that speaks so much to his character throughout the film from telling Selina her friend didn't make good choices, and to Gordon when he said: "he crossed a line". This scene should have been in the film.
It would have really taken the riddler out of the movie if he left this in. The audience would their minds on the Joker from there on out.
Seriously. Brings me to the Batman Hush comic where he says "Deep down he's essentially a good person, and deep down I'm not". Cool that these movies are bringing a nuance to this character that hasn't been brought to live action yet. A Batman who still hasn't come up with the "This place is worth saving" until the end.
nah if this scene was in the movie it would have thrown off the pacing and taken riddler off the audiences mind

Yes this comment. That’s what sold me on this joker. It was a very mischievous laugh like he liked what he saw. Such good acting
i knew who he was the second i laid eyes on him
Joker finds people’s death funny
Chills? The dude is a scrawny 5’6/7 dude. Definitely not threatening at all. Not to mention the actor constantly slipping in and out of his real accent
An amazing scene that I'm so glad was cut. It would've distracted us from Paul Dano's Riddler, but I genuinely can't wait to see what they do with this Joker. Barry Keoghan's Joker has a lot of potential.
This scene actually makes the Joker and Riddler scene more intriguing. Now we know how the Joker knows the Riddler.
@Nort at least this one is more disturbing visually
Agree man..The Riddler is the main highlight of the movie..if this scene were included in the movie, people not going to talk about Riddler, people will talk about Joker
Are there other scenes of joker in the movie?
@Nort Why would he be the only person? Plenty would be excited for this joker. Comments like theses are stupid.
I love how each actor is taking Joker to just another level..first it was Heath then Phoenix and now I think Barry would do an incredible job. The saga of Batman is in safe hands..thanks to Matt Reeves.
I woulda liked to see Mr. Phoenix reprise his role, but I'm not complaining. Maybe each generation gets the Joker that they deserve.
First it was Caesar Romero and then Jack Nicholson and then Heath Ledger. And I'd say now this guy. But I don't count Leto's or Phoenix's Joker visions. Sorry.

I cannot help but love his laugh so much. To me, it sounds like the kind of laugh one would hear from a child, mischievous but full of innocence, yet, coming from the joker, the laugh shifts to being very sinister and eerie.

It's awful
The joker seems like a Heath Ledger joker ripoff imo
The laugh was terrible.
Man it would suck to be new to batman and pass off crap like this as good.
Heath's performance was and still is incredible - but this actually looks good. Different style and different take of the Joker. Can't wait to see this in the next or third movie.
I won't even bring up Heath here as even if people wanted to compare them, which I'm not saying you are, we barely saw anything of Keogan beyond one confusing scene and another that show us this unique but ultimately still very much Joker take on the character.
Hopefully the 3rd. I’d like to see a slow build. Only have 1 cameo in the 1st and 2nd films
Meh, at this point, I am sick of seeing The Joker as he is arguably the most overrated/saturated villain of any media..
As a huge fan of the Court of Owls, they seriously need more love and with the way this version of Bruce Wayne and Batman were built, and the story behind his parents, it would tie in extremely well with the overall lore of the Owls.
Disappointment when I supposedly heard/saw Joker in the film is in a understatement.
@@cbgg1585 joker is the most iconic villain of all time tho, they can’t have a Batman but no joker
I felt some scenes he felt out of character. That’s why I believe this scene was deleted
The most frightening thing about this scene is one has to wonder how terrible Joker's crimes were in this universe for him to not only be locked in Arkham. Not only locked behind a glass cell to talk to Batman but also to be handcuffed on top of all of that. I mean we see how terrifying Riddler is here, I don't wanna even imagine the brutality of this Joker. His voice is so soft here which shows his manipulative nature of sounding so calm and toned back when you know his violence is just waiting to be unleashed.
Also I would like to point out something that gives chills down my spine as well. This Joker is so good at reading Batman even though he is wearing a mask and staying (trying anyways) as calm as possible so if he can read a vigilante with his identity hidden so well just imagine how quickly he can read everyone else.
Riddler is also behind glass and handcuffed when Batman interrogates him.
The psychological component in this movie is amazing, the mind games. This movie was incredibly well done, I can’t wait for the next one

This is a perfect Joker, taken right from the comics. He is extremely clever and perceptive. A true genius. Batman doesn't trust him, but he knows he can help him solve his cases, because of his ability to understand others. In fact, he his the only one who truly sees Bruce for who he his. He strips him naked, forcing him to face his darkest parts, the ones which he hides from himself. Also, I love the fact that Joker was flirting with Batman. He always does that in the comics as well.
Yea Joker calling Batman soft in a flirty way was very clever lol shows how messed up his mind is while looking into the eyes of his captor
He’s good but he’s no comic Joker
ts is good because it’s nothing like the comics
Not a comic accurate joker but a different take in a good way.
No comic joker if you read the comics.

I agree. Although he is sat behind that glass & chained you still get the impression that no matter who else were to be in the room with him, he would still be the most dangerous one there.
The way he doesn't fully read the case files but understands who the killer is shows his level of intelligence whilst still coming across as manic & unhinged & seeing him like this is still enough to be a menacing character who could help batman's progression with understanding the criminally insane mind before coming face to face outside the asylum.
On my second watch I noticed he skimmed through the files, instead of chalking it up to pacing in the scene I had an inkling it was a way of illustrating his intellect without straight up telling us, good observation dude
Even behind glass he will always be the biggest threat through pure manipulation, key example would have to the way he charms riddler at the end of the movie, manic and unhinges but very calculated
It's literally the long Halloween, these scenes need to be calander man.

Batman interrogating someone for information isn’t really a “silence of the lambs style” as this literally happens is basically ALL Batman stories as he CONSTANTLY goes to the asylum for information on criminals.

A different ‘multiverse’ take on Batman, maybe the Flash will run into a different multiverse?
Different take. I dig it. Going off the scars it seems like they use the Ace Chemicals story. And I love that he shows all the burns and disfigurement. Showing the bond early in between the 2 of them is awesome. I'm in. Let's do it.

@@gemeli5544 thank you. I’m someone who is easy to please, but I also am a hawk when it comes to performances. I watch a lot of movies and I write.
This performance just comes off as weak. He’s going over the top while trying to play it understated. It simply doesn’t work for me at all. I don’t believe he’s a serial killer. Honestly I’d find the Riddler to be a better Joker if you just put makeup on him and changed his name. That means it’s a bad performance.
Barry Keoghan has recently intimated that we haven't seen the last of the Joker as played by him. I truly think he's got an excellent potential to be the primary villain in the third Batman movie with Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight.
Heath ledger’s performance as the joker is without a doubt one of the greatest joker performances ever. Mark Hamill‘s voice work on Batman the animated series is also exceptional.
This performance however as short as it was could very well be an extension of heath ledger‘s performance.
I can certainly understand why it was cut from the Batman movie I just hope they return to this in a sequel or perhaps a prequel.
For what amounts do about four minutes of screen time this joke was performance was truly unnerving, terrifying, and completely fantastic!
As a longtime Batman fan I would rather see them use some other Batman villains they haven't used in the movies before in the sequels and give the Joker a well deserved rest. Batman has some of the best villains in comics but a lot of them have been used on screen 'cause Warner Bros keep using the Joker over and over and over and over again much like Lex Luthor in the Superman movies. Heck, they have already made a Joker solo movie and there is a possible sequel on the way. Let Batman face some other villains for a change like Clayface, Solomon Grundy, Mr Freeze, Lady Shiva, Poison Ivy, Hush, Hugo Strange, Deathstroke, Killer Croc, Man Bat, Maxie Zeus, Mad Hatter, Killer Moth, Anarky, Great White Shark, The Ventriloquist etc etc etc. A Batman Horror movie with some of the Horror villains would be awesome and terrifying.

This is definitely the best Batman/Joker relationship we have seen on screen yet. Can’t wait to see how they keep developing these two and their relationship together. Really wished they included this in the film, and not make a deleted scene but there's no flaw in this film at all. They nailed it. Just wished they put this as a bonus. By far the greatest Batman movie ever, and by far the most realistic and modern one as well. If I were to rank this, it would definitely be ranked first out of all of them. Going to keep things short and simple, and not try to spoil it for anyone that hasn't watched it yet as it only came out this year but I watched this on Christmas and fully on the 26th just like every year when my brother and I pick out a movie to watch on Christmas since its always been a tradition of ours. Like this is honestly such a masterpiece, there's no flaw with it. It's the most realistic version of the actual storyline version of Batman that they were able to portray properly, realistic, and accurately. The movie literally tells us the actual story of "Batman"/"Bruce" storyline from how it began and how his legacy started out as well as grew from a very different perspective in comparison to all the other Batman movies. Like even the cast were amazing, especially Pattinson where he successfully managed to depict both Bruce as well as Batman perfectly well, same thing with the rest of the cast, like Carmine who was played so well, same thing with Catwoman especially the riddler. Even the Batman and Commissioner duo was amazing, and one to watch. Goodcop, and batcop. Such an amazing soundtrack, a perfect, realistic, modern storyline that fits in with today and isn't overreached, or unrealistic, great cast with amazing potrayls of there characters that had no flaw, great effects, and emotion. Like you would always be on edge, and on your seat thinking as well as wondering what was going to happen next. You were literally focused on the movie at all times, esepcially with the amazing detail of the storyline that they nailed, and the attention in detail. Its literally a masterpiece and such an unforgettable movie, theres honestly no flaw with it and is one of my most favorite movies that I've ever watched on Christmas with my twin brother who never fails with his picks. Truly worth it, as well as a must watch if you wish to understand it or to see for yourself. Honestly can't wait for its sequel, trilogy if there's going to be one, and the future of this Batman.
