We use a Lincoln welder and we would recommend the Dixon Bros Racing long travel kit for your Ranger. We have one on our Ranger and it works great.
With the hoop...cheap protection for expensive lights. Looks good too
My vote is the Hoop ON, the top lights look weak without the hoop.
Also where did the square lights go?
I absolutely love this series, look forward to it every weekend.
The f150 is really coming together! I think the bumper looks clean without the hoop.
With the hoop...looks much better in my opinion
Love watching this show, the stuff you guys do is my dream job. So inspiring might build my own prerunner bumper!
Yes the last episode of the season airing on TV June 25th with show both trucks out in the desert for a Ford vs. Chevy showdown.
For this front bumper build there was no paint that could be damaged by the welding...our Fiberwerx valance just has the gel coat on it, no paint yet, but thank you for bringing this up as there are a lot of people that are unaware of this potential problem.
you guys are awesome, i was wondering what kind of welder do you guys use and what long travel kit do you guys recommend for a ranger edge 2wd????
Well done gentlemen, l like the dimes you laid it gives it a rugged look.
Thanks! 🤘
Hoop it!!! i would bring it down a bit though, so it hugs the top of the lights a little tighter
Also, you guys are located in Vegas right? If so, I'll be there around the 4th of July and I'd love to swing by your shop and meet you guys if at all possible, maybe get some advice on my prerunner project.
I've haven't had to on your model F150. ..I've seen quite a few with prerunner bumpers with no problems.
for the beam how thick gauge did you use? 11ga or 10ga? wish you have close captions on it.
thanks
Yes if we add the hoop it will be just as you suggested.
We actually planned a Tacoma build for this season but they are so expensive. We got the F150 for less than we could find a Tacoma for...maybe in an upcoming season.
Using the factory fog harness for your LEDs... Genius!
It might be beneficial to us viewers if you would describe the type of steel being used.
Excellent video! Sick bumper! Very helpful and clear!
That's great!!! so glad we could help you.
Still deciding on the hoop, and if we go no hoop then we will have to use the Cubes somewhere else...it just doesn't look right without having the hoop.
yes with the hoop
hey what kind of notch tool was that? and also what kind of welder is that. I'm new to all of this but I'm doing it
The last episode of the season will be just what you are looking for. We are going to take both prerunners out to the desert for some testing.
Glad you like it!!!
That guy did a nice job.
How much does it cost for all the materials used for the front bumper? And about how long does it take?
What did you do with the latch and bumpers for the hood? They usually mount to the bumper itself.
Love this show so much, hella informative.
I have a suggestion: Can you guys show more of the truck? Honestly have no idea what either the silverado or this f150 looks like since you never show it.
Hoop it! Looks a little incomplete without it. Damn nice job! Getting inspired to build a bumper for my F-250.
did you use 1/8" in plate for the mounting brackets as well or did you use thicker plate
I have a 08 dodge ram 2wd and ive been looking for a long travel kit for it but cant find anything do yall know any place
what welding machine do you guys use?
How do I get a bumper like that? Just got myself an 06 f150 and would love that bumper.
Hey, what happened to the LED cubes?
You'll get to see both trucks side by side in our last episode for the Ford vs Chevy battle.
with upper hoop and gussets for the exterior part of the bumper
Not sure what you mean by "Beam"...? Can you explain?
How about a performance video of the trucks in action
what happened to the cube lights?
Anybody know what settings used on mig welder for this job?
put winch between lights and yes add the crossbar
I wish you guys made a bolt on bump for a ford ranger 1997
We still have the Cubes, but without the hoop they don't look right on the bumper. Once we decide on the hoop, we'll decide on the Cubes.
I want that same exact design. How much to build one?
how thick steel plate u using?
Do the hoop
is it the same logic for a 2001 f 150?
In the next month or so we will offer bolt-on bumpers for a variety of trucks at VegasDezertFab com
Awesome, add the hoop on the bumper, it is missing something without it.
Do you have to disconnect the airbag with a tube bumper?
I don't think so. I didn't see him do anything related to it.
truck is looking sick. for the bumper. go no extra tube.
Great show but they should be giving the example to cover the paint and 1000s in parts. I say add the hoop
I prefer to weld the hoop because it'll protect the lights in case of accident
Well voting is now over on this and it was dead even. On ours we are leaving it off but it will be an option when it goes up for sale. Thanks for your comment.
i think it looks weird without the upper hoop
I don't know about all trucks but we didn't have to on our F150, Ranger or Silverado
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys should park both the trucks next to eachother so we can see the full trucks.
Really need a piece of tube in between the frame over time that big one inch bolt is going to crush that frame
Do you guys know what gauge steel plating he's using
chip 3/16"
I´d buy it but is it legal??
That is amazing work!
I'll see if I can get you those numbers
What happened to this show???
I say install the hoop.
with the hoop
put that hoop on it looks goofy with them big lights an no tubeing around them
No hoop. And wheres the LED pods?
Lol i got all my led lighting going directly to the switch with no relay, haha, its been working great, keep in mind im using industrial sized metal switching instead of cheap plastic ones
I've got 5 leds on my truck.
4 with relays and 1 without.
All the same lights.
The one without the relay isn't as bright.
It also flickers a little (not much probably wouldn't even notice if I didn't have the other 4)
Ya we are leaning towards no hoop as well, but the votes are still coming in.
i wish those bumpers would be allowed in germany.
hoop
I would put some fireproof blankets over truck to protect clearcoat from splatter
With upper hoop. Without it, isn't a prerunner to me thou. Looks incomplete.
These might be some of the most impressive fabrication videos on all of UA-cam.....but seriously, someones gotta offer that background guitarist some xanax...maybe some reefer....
damn you need to leard how to use the plasma cutter lol
You have to keep factory bumpers...? That's weird.
I guess you want the hoop...? HAHAHA great comment!!!
i live in germany. we can only drive with bumpers which have abe, a piece paper where stands thät this bumper is made and allowed by the state for this carmodel. And if want to get a abe for a selfmade bumper, you wouldn`t becaus this bumpers are to dangerous for pedestrian crossing the streets. the only bumpers you get are things made out of plastic and are so small, that they look ugly.
$2k is really low when you talking about building a prerunner...the coil-overs alone can run you almost half that. I wish I had a better answer for you, but this is an expensive sport. Really the cheapest way is to find someone that is selling one for a good price.
Hi guys, upload new videos please!
Visit VegasDezertFab com and email us...we'll see what we can do.
make more videos
hoop lights look too exposed without It
wtf hope you don't hit a Honda those frame mounts will collapse with that thin ass metal, and great measuring those pieces look like crap not all lined up
Uh oh, be carerul what u show on tv, ur grinders dont have handles or guards, we dont use them either but osha is watching u so heads up
No. move it. To the front end.
what thickness steel pipe did you use for the bumper?
2.0" .120 wall tube, and the skid plate is 1/8"
Trevor Wray what about the main supports?
