Instead of replacing the solenoid (assuming the solenoid is working), use a outdoor mounting tape to fill up the space upside the lever. it works like a charm!
I know this solution, but you are talking about a fault when the old glue sticks the magnet together. There is a slightly different problem in this video.
Hi, thanks to your video this was really easy to do. However I didnt remove the big green wheel (srry forgot the name). Now when I connect the printer it spins very briefly and then shows orange led. Any idea what it could be? Thanks a lot (Unfortunately the error message is unclear as I only have apple laptop)
This video may be the solution, but check your computer's driver for the error message. Maybe it's toner, waste toner box, fuser, drum... You need to check.
I followed your video as had the same problem with a C410W. Now when I power on the rollers don't move on start up and I get a red error light. Any ideas what I've done incorrectly. Any help gratefully received. Graham
Great video. I have a 430W. The diagnostics report no problem. It prints test documents pressing the "X" button just fine. I just changed toners, so they are full. But when I try to use it for printing anything else, it refuses. It does not even try to pick up paper. Just silent. Any guess to what might be the problem?
Thy put flimsy pieces of foam on that solenoid on purpose so that it fails in a few years, also they use a weak spring to aid the failing foam, I have already fixed two printers by replacing the foam with rubber and slightly shortening the spring to tension it, never had a jam ever since.

A tiny piece of foam renders the entire printer unusable, the average consumer can't do much about it, they either take it to a repair shop and get it fixed or most likely just buy a new one as the fix costs almost the same as a new printer.

I tested the solenoid with 110V and it worked, but it does not fix the paper pickup mechanism when I put it back.. What else can be the problem? I also adjusted the pad height so that it engaged and released the engagement correctly. Is there anything else that can cause paper pick up problem on this printer? Appreciate a feed back.
I don't know why you're checking the $ 2 solenoid. Will buy and install a new solenoid. Your checking is wrong because there are different resistances in the machine.

Are all Samsung Xpress laser printers well overpriced garbage? I'm noticing mostly paper jams, phantom paper jams, burnt out fusers, and problems with the roller drums.
In fact, all printers have a lot of problems. Not only Samsung but also other manufacturers make devices of poor quality. Small home printers need to be simple and cheap, so sometimes inferior parts are used to keep the price down.
the c420w is a complete nightmare. endless problems and now a label sticker thing stuck to the orange roller and I can't get it off there. god i hate this printer and it was like $300 too
Unfortunately, if you print on labels, you have to reckon with the fact that sometimes the label will stick to the roller. There is no solution for that. My clients have specialized label printing equipment but they are not printers. These are specialized label machines. They cost around $4,000.
@@MrRicoh Well, as overwhelming as it seemed (I never really took printers apart except 3d printers which are surprisingly more simple from hardware perspective) I skipped through part of this video and was able to do it relatively fast. Got the label pieces out of there and now it works even better than it did before. This video really saved my ass yesterday, I had orders that had to go out and couldn't print my labels. @@MrRicoh I did sort of start it before watching this though, and took the top off first. Luckily I did it slow because there were 2 really thin ribbon cables. So I disconnected them, then followed your video and it really helped get the exterior off. I didn't have to disconnect those other cables from the (logic board?) as I was able to pull the roller things out just enough to get to them while cables were still attached. btw there was toner all over in there. That thing that say the colors, so u know the order to put the color toners, that thing was full of toner. I had to dump that out, and spray the whole thing down with an air compressor. I think this is my punishment for using off-brand toner from Ebay lol.
Welp I think I finally destroyed the piece of sht. I had to replace the orange roller, it got all tore up from a paper jam (label paper). I bought the orange part on aliexpress for like $10 but I had to tear so much stuff apart to get to it I got all kinds of parts that idk where they even go, and broke some parts and can't get the assembly thing with the orange roller in it to go back together. I swear it's like it was never together to begin with...nothing I do will make this shit go back together. Deciding between buying the whole part with the orange roller in it, which is like $50+ or just trashing the whole thing. Tempted to do like on office space and take it out in a field and beat the sht out of it with a baseball bat. God I hate this thing.

After many years of experience, I will not replace the orange roller because it is too complicated and there is an additional risk. Puedes quitar el pegamento del electroimán de esta manera y también quedará bien.

Maybe the chip has fallen out or the connectors are dirty.

A red light most often indicates a problem with the Drum Unit. Maybe the chip is dirty? maybe your waste toner container is full because you moved it?

Certainly the solenoid is broken. You have to replace it and everything will be back to normal. Do a solenoid replacement.

Mam podobny problem z CLP-680ND. Ciągle błąd M1-1110 "Paper Jam in Tray 1" i nie chce pobierać papieru.
Z pewnością to będzie ten sa problem i to samo rozwiązanie co pokazuję na filmie.

Buy the entire unit, but don't throw away the printer. This is a good machine.

Otwórz i zamknij przednią pokrywę. Powinno być OK, ale przy próbie duku natychmiast ponownie jest czerwona lampka to napraw sprzęgło, tak jak na filmie.
AAA i jeszcze sprawdź w sterowniku czy po prostu nie masz zużytego transferu lub bębna

Yes, unfortunately, the design of this printer is tragic. There is no other procedure for replacement. Repairing this printer is cheap but very laborious. Regards and good luck with the repairs.
