- Today I will show you how to fix a loud grinding noise in your front load washing machine. The rotor for the direct drive transmission often gets clogged with carbon particles. This causes a grinding noise at a slow spin cycle.

Thank you! This is the exact sound and I just pulled the back off and my hands were covered. I wish I would have watched this first.
I’m glad you found this video. I later found out that the dust and crumbs are concrete. Washing machines have concrete in them to weigh them down so they don’t bounce around. My shock absorbers were dead so the spin cycle was breaking the concrete because it was spinning so violently. You may want to check yours as well. I made a video: ua-cam.com/video/QF_jnWaDznk/v-deo.htmlsi=b2Q3hO3r6WKlwCwn

I had the same problem. Did the shock absorber that you installed resolve your issue?
Yes it turned out that the old shocks were blown which led to extreme shaking. Which then led to the concrete blocks crumbling and getting into the motor and making the grinding noise. Now all is quiet again. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

Gantastic video, thank you very nuch. When i did this to my machine i also noticed a lot of carbon, but mine didnt clean off as easily, should i wash it?
No definitely don’t wash it. No moisture should touch these components. Use a dry cloth and compressed air or a shop vac. Doesn’t have to be super clean. Just no large particles. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016thank you for the advice, I went back and wiped everything down and then used a shopvac to clean it, the gaps have been cleaned but the grinding noise is still there. Any idea?
Take the magnetic drum off again, then spin the drive spline without it attached. If the grinding isn’t there then you may have missed a small bit of debris somewhere. If the sound is still there while spinning without the drum on the back, then you may have a worn out bearing.
I have the exact same machine with the same noise. Checked the spider and replaced the bearings, and the issue persists. Motor clean with no dust or concrete like yours, but still the same noise persists and its definitely coming from the motor, not the pump. Any ideas? Thanks!
Tank q informasian bast of the bast🎉🎉
Thanks for watching
Why would you have all that hard debris?
Never addressed that.
So it turned out to be concrete. Washing machines have concrete blocks in them to weigh them down so they stay in place. The shock absorbers were worn out on the bottom so the vibration on the machine was horrible and would send little crumbs breaking off the blocks because of excessive vibration during the spin cycle. I later replaced the shock absorbers and there are no more issues. Thanks for your question. Please like and subscribe
