Oh, those flowers are gorgeous - can't see the leaves for that wonderful pink! I'm glad you got a chance to enjoy them. If you wait til you have a developed bonsai, you could miss out on years of enjoyment. Flowers and fruit are part of the fun for me and part of why I pursue the hobby - too precious a part of the journey to miss!
Yeah exactly!! you have to enjoy the journey and all the different states they can be in!! Cheers Sue! :)
Always love this channel. Great work!
Cheers :)
I agree, why would you not want to enjoy those blooms? Looks like Gall, good call cutting it away. She is lookin strong brother. Hope you’re healthy enough to dig into the rootball come spring!
Cheers bro! yeah i think it will get a lot work done next year, all going well
Broski!!! I love azaleas, and yours looked pretty dope when in full bloom. Cheers 😎🍺🍺
Cheers bro, they are awesome
That odd growth looks like Gall, you did the right thing getting rid as you soon as you saw it. It's quite common with Azalea, some Azalea types are more prone to it than others. I think it is sign of too much moisture or a lack of air flow between leaves.
Cheers, yeah id imagine the constant rain is not helping this one out!
Indeed, azalea leaf gall - a fungal diesease common in azaleas. Absolutely correct: remove the affected parts and increase air circulation. 🤗
Hey Ian,
Really enjoyed the video.
I have a small Azalea (from garden centre stock) and via trial and error I've found it prefers a drier soil and doesn't like to be watered every day.
Do you find the same is true for yours?
Cheers :)
yeah, i don't really water these outdoor trees at all. Rain is more than enough. maybe even too much at times!
