I appreciate this channel, with all the foulness, ugly news , violent and terrible behavior on the internet, this channel is an oasis of peace, intelligence and caring. Thank you.
Morning all!!! I love azaleas 🌺 and the defined pads i think the pads especially when flowering make them look very nice 👍🏻 Also herons is almost at 400k subscribers on youtube!!
Such lovely trees the more I see of Satsukis the more I am falling in love with them. I look forward to hearing the story behind them. Thanks for sharing
Great video. After almost hundreds of blooms on my two satsukis it takes me about two plus hours to deadhead. A lot of work but well worth the efffort. Your videos are super.
Just to let you know - I used this video as the basis for my late summer pruning on longer (young) branches. I cut them back to within an inch or two and very single one sent out loads of new buds lower down so i now have a wonderful choice to keep improving the ramification. Thanks Peter - I did my own video recently telling everyone how well this works. Not that I would ever doubt you :)
Love this video, my baby Satzuki azaleas so sick, all leaf became crispy, I don’t know what to do. 😭I cut off the leaf but I am so worry that it won’t grow again, after I saw your video, I am so relief now. I hope they will grow back again. Thank you so much Peter.
This week has been so good for me as I have purchased a Satsuki from Herons in the last few weeks and now I have an understanding of what to do after flowering and what type of food thanks to Peter putting out a few videos on Azaleas, Now got to find some more info on Japanese white pines, that i also got of Peter, Great video thanks .
I really like the explanation about bonsai on this channel because it is very inspiring about bonsai, greetings beginners from Indonesia, master greetings one hobby
As usual another brilliant master class from Mr Peter Chann. We thank you for sharing your knowledge. BONSAI FOR EVERYBODY .Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
I really love all your videos. I am quite young for a bonsai enthusiast but you made me start my own bonsai collection. But i am not really able to invest alot of money in to my trees. Is there a possibility that you can make a video how to repot a bonsai for free or for cheap. I am not really able to get all those different komposts and hummuses and gravels. But always thhank you for your informative and wholesome videos.
Thanks again a big bunch of info Oyakata. I have one question if its posible, when would the best time for a heavy prunning on a azalea?. . I cant get enough of your videos, i am so grateful.
I always come back to Peter when I need to remember what I should be doing with Azalea...and most other trees too. Thank you very much. Not sure you will reply but I am getting a lot of leaves showing mottled red and black and yellow and then dropping off. Is this a mineral deficiency or just natural leaf shedding? Thanks again.
Congrats on 400k subscribers :) I was wondering what temperatures are best for Satsuki Azaleas, what do you do for them in winter? Thanks for the video!
If a cultivar is likely to set seed, there is a point to removing every individual flowers. Pulling at the dried up flowers only removes the petals. If the fruit is not fertilized, it will shrivel up, dry out and eventually fall off. You can remove the stem with the fruit on it either using your nails, or by pulling and twisting on it so it snaps off. Of course, it takes a lot of time. And if a cultivar is not going to set seeds, it is indeed a waste of time.
My juniper bonsai is sick. The tips are yellowing and from their the whole foliage turns yello and fall off. They don’t turn brown but yellow. I’ve give it 20-20-20, no help, given it 0-45-0 last week and no change, any tips anyone can give me?
Is it hot where u are right now? If so did u water the foliage? I did and it burnt my juniper. It was a shohin size in a 6 inch pot and burned it. Next it started dying back like urs. Im trying to bring it back by putting it in a bigger pot with sphagnum moss around the roots and bonsai soil. If it dont work out well its gonna be my first tanuki! All deadwood

Early Feb/ or very early Spring. That way it gives the Satsuki a long growing season to make new shoots and branches.

Put them in half Shade at the hottest days in Summer and Project them of Temperatures under -5 degrees Celsius
Very informative video. Would February still be the best time to repot Azalea in Southern California? Thank you so much for sharing.
Excellent video as always! How long do you leave the wiring in place? 6 months?

If I don't have Japanese fertilizer what's best holly tone at medum rate or liquid plus flolar
How many plants lots of plants
Beautiful
It’s always a shame when these flowers go over and start to droop. They are such pretty but short lived beauties.
Dada apni ki ekhono bangla bolte paren, I am very proud of you@kolkata
It was such a pleasure to meet you, Peter. You were so kind to us. We will come visit again in the spring time 🤍 K&H
😢our nurseries dont seems to sell sazuke azeales where can i find one
It should not matter how thick the branch is if it is to thicken the trunk it would be the amount of leaf on the branch not how thick it is
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 thanks Peter
If they had written the names on the labels in kanji, it would be much easier to translate them with google lens.

Yellowing could be chlorosis. If it is it needs more iron.
