My 2018 is at 850k miles, still going strong.
Dude that’s awesome. Make her a million miles
New gen killed the tundra 🤷🏼♂️ glad I found a gently used 20… wish I had got a new one in 20-21 but one lives and learns
Got my 2020 Trd Pro in 2022 with only 12k miles. Keeping it forever
I love my 2012 Platinum. 303,000 miles.
313,406 on my 2007 Limited😎
The 2018 might be the best Tundra ever made.
I'll take your 2018 and raise it with my 2021 TRD Pro double cab. :) The last model year is always the best.
@@SuperSnakePlisskennot much difference between the two😂
You add a trans cooler yourself. The kits are available online at Sparks.
I’ve owned a 2003 Tundra, 2020 Platinum and finally my favorite the 2021 LUNAR CM 21 TRD PRO
What you have with red rock leather is my dream truck! Congrats man.
I agree 100%! I have a 2018 SR5 DC 5.7 TRD OR, 6.5' bed, 38 gallon tank, Safety Sense, transmission cooler. $39k.
My first vehicle as a 16 year old was a 2000 2wd tundra. Then got and still have our 04 double cab. Now I have a 2016 pro for my dad rig. All these trucks have a special place in my heart. I plan to be a lifetime tundra owner. Not too sure about the new gens. I’ll stick with my 2.5 gen pro, love this thing.
Love my 2014 TRD 5.7 V-8 ☃️👍👍
love my 2018 tundra trd 4x4 off road best truck i have ever owned suoer reliable and trouble free
I have a 2019 limited CM and at 77k miles its been rock solid. I towed 3500lbs for 50k miles 5-6 days a week from 30 below to 100 in the summer. The trans is still solid though it does give me some bump or hard shifts when on and off the gas in traffic. I change the fluids regularly and hope it lasts for many years to come. No trans cooler here so I guess ill update as time goes on but so far so good.
forgot to mention I had to give 49900 during covid and it had 19k miles on it. So though it was a high price I got a low interest rate and payments are 725/mo. Thats high for me but I see some new trucks well over 1000/mo now
I love the 2024 so far. Let me get back to you when i eventually put some miles on it.
2018 doublecab, 4x4 SR5. Oh, and only 16k miles on it. 😎
Thank you Mark, a wealth of knowledge 👍👍
Not a 2018 but my 2007 with 242,000+ miles is still going strong......Unfortunately Toyota has lost it's way and is on a course to destroy the brand.......
Still waiting on the day I finally get to buy one of these trucks. I test drove a few and boy I love these trucks
Me too man. It's my dream truck. I had a nice 1st gen, then unfortunately crashed it a week after insurance unknowingly ran out.. ugh.. but ya, a nice 2nd gen crew max with red rock leather is dream truck. Lunar rock or army green would be a bonus.
Excellent video!
Love my 2019 SR5 Crew max with TRD Offroad package, towing package, led headlights and safety sense. Great truck for the family.
Yes! I have a 2018 trd off road extended cab
Great information. Surprised we don’t see aftermarket adhesive hood scoops
They are out there!
Thanks…I’ve seen the ones that require drilling holes ( no thanks) but not adhesive hood scoops
@TomP913 its been a while, but i think the Toyota genuine one is drilling required, and some aftermarket options were adhesive.
Great summary of the 2nd gen’s timeline and progression. It’s very informative. Keep up the great content and work!
21” Tundra SR5 modded it to be a TRD clone with some small interior changes. 😁 love the channel man! Listen to it all the time keep up the good work!
Is the 2014 a good year?
Thanks Mark. I love that 2018 sport. I have a 2017 Sr5 Barcelona red double cab that I am slowly turning into a replica of that truck as budget permits.😁
Thank you for all of the great information and advice. I have a question for you and would like your opinion. I am a long time Ram owner and looking to make the switch to a Tundra. Wanting the 5.7, I’m leaning towards a low mileage 2021 platinum or 1794. That said, a used 2022 are nearly the same price. What are your thoughts on the current model year V6? What would you do in this situation? Thank you!
In that situation, i would get a low mileage 2021. The 2022 has had some issues and is going through one currently
@@TundraDude34 Thank you, I hoped you would say that.
Research around. There are some sweet 21s coming off of lease out there
Mark,
Is there any advantage to buying a ‘21 over a ‘20 Tundra?
Looking at a used ‘20 limited double cab / 6.5’ bed with Limited Premium & TRD off road packages -52k miles, all badging removed, running boards, sprayed on Bed liner and tonneau cover.
Hi there! Same setup. Changes came in 2020 and the truck was unchanged for 2021. So both years rule!
I thought 2020 was the first year of the Tundra without the transmission cooler? Please let me know if I’m wrong. Thanks. 😁
Love my 2018 TRDoffroad SR5 with 65,000KM 0r 42,000miles im in Canada I have heated seats and, a moon roof the best year EVER!!!
I won a 2018 platinum! My only complaint is that they only offered the platinum in 4 colors at the time! I didn’t realize that was a lot of changes, I do know when I ordered my retractable steps the wiring was all different and they had a hell of a tie getting them to work
that means I have a unique tundra cause my is a 2018 Toyota tundra double cab limited and I got brand new from especial order
🤩
I had a 2018 Tundra SR5 double cab with the 6.5" bed. I traded it for a 2020 Limited Crew Max when I heard that Toyota was dropping the 5.7 V8. I have not been sorry. Both are great trucks but I just didn't need that extra bed length.
I like the 2017 trd pro in red. But the new 2018 features are nice. Push button start is great.
Push button start came in 2020
I think for the 2019 Trd Pro, that was the first year that toyota added the fox shocks!?
That is correct sir
@@TundraDude34 It would be great if you did a review for that year. I have a 2019 metallic black tundra trd pro 😀
