Breakdowns have gotten really stale and boring to me, since every deathcore/metalcore song seems to center around it. If Pantera did the same with their songs, the breakdown in Domination wouldn't be as good. Still, Lorna Shore did a great job with this track.

finally someone that mentiones black metal inflence in this band. i only recently got into deathcore, i listen death and black metal for 25 or so years, and lorna shore hit me with subtle but very noticable black metal influence.
If you intend to do other reacts, take a look at a band called "Sarcófago", it's a Brazilian black metal band from the 80s... an interesting fact about this band is that Dead loved their music and was a band that influenced a lot in Norwegian black metal

You might also enjoy some other actual good Deathcore: -Sin Deliverance - Ultimate Hatred (2021). Blackened and Symphonic Death Metal sprinkled in. Has a very epic feel to a lot of songs, similar to Lorna Shore. -Angelmaker - Angelmaker (2019 self-titled album). Really solid drumming, vocals are insane. Plenty of groove and occasional guitar solos. -The Breathing Process - Samsara (2018). Lots of melodic parts and blast beats. -Shadow of Intent - Reclaimer (2017). Very melodic, good drumming, and plenty of guitar solos. Their 2019 album also moved more towards Death Metal; still really good. -Slice the Cake - The Man With No Face (2012). Groovy, heavy, and has a lot of Prog influence. Their 2016 album moved towards Progressive Death Metal, and it's really good. -Those Who Lie Beneath - An Awakening (2009). Mixes in Technical Death Metal, Grind, and occasionally Jazz. Plenty of blast beats and guitar solos. Reformed a few years ago under the name "Vitriol" as a Death Metal band and their 2019 album is insanely heavy and fast.

"True metalheads" always hated deathcore because of the fan base it seems. They hated the scene and emo kids.. But that's the thing, they were *kids* they were going to be embarrassing at times. The hate the core community got from the older metalheads never made sense to me. You WERE us when you were young, we are the same people lol. It was just a different style.
when i was a younger man going to metal shows and the old guys got "get off my lawn" about the young "core" fans it was 1000% because of the dumb ass fake karate. mosh pits used to be controlled rage. trying to knock a guy into next week or just getting a circle moving. Usually two big dudes competing for biggest tarded dude. someone fell or got hurt the entire pit made a whole and raised them up out of danger and right back to crushing people. then somewhere along the way kids started swinging their arms and legs around simply to hurt people. People get crotchety about different genres and refuse to expand and grow for sure but 90% in my experience it was the fake karate kids who ruined the mood.
Gen x metal head here. This is metal. Metal is metal. No subgenres. If it's metal, it's metal. The end. Subgenres impose a limiting set of parameters. Metal, by its nature, resists limitations. That's why Will did a clean vocals song. Because it's metal, don't tell him what to do.

Have to say the very first time I heard this track, when he starts with the high screams right at the start it did remind me of Ihsahn, like from The Nightside eclipse era. Love Will, great vocalist and seems to be a top bloke too!

Pretty much the same for me, I HATED deathcore and metalcore. I still haven't come to peace with metalcore( probably never will), but oh my the new wave of blackened deathcore is the REAL shit

But they all got old too quick so I listened to black, death, doom, grind and all that shit.
But I'm just getting into this new era of deathcore. It's pretty brutal.
Blackened deathcore is good shiet.
