I saw a dear friend who I worked with back in the 1980s today and only see occasionally but she has seen me gain weight over the years. She hadn't seen me since I changed to low carb 18 months ago and I was excited to be able to show off the "new trim me". She is so happy for me.

Enjoying this video, eating one meal/day and almost entirely added-sugar-free for 18 months. 75years, making most of my own “processed” foods, ie sourdough breads, pickles, yogurt, ghee, cream cheese- eating more meats, more eggs! Feeling strong, new to yoga, swim most days, waterskiiing again after a 30-40 year hiatus!

Me too. I was frustrated with keto so I tried Carnivore but that felt too heavy and I craved my greens. Now I guess I'm Ketovore-Paleo. Balance works best. Carnivore just seems too extreme as I'm generally healthy (knock on wood) - and Dr. Berry doesn't have longitudinal studies to prove his theory so..... Do what works for you!

@@boink800 I'm just quoting Dr. Berry's oft-stated recommendation to challenge other doctors (which I agree with). "Okay - show me the credible studies that prove you are right" One person's experience of 40 years does NOT prove what the rest of us need.

@@brendakemp9060 written by Christopher Palmer MD. Without spoiling it. And I’m probably the worst at describing a book. However, Dr Palmer links together several different issues. He ties back to what is called the brain energy pathway? He then links it to the nutrition we take in as one of the things. I still haven’t finished the book. But so far I think about my body completely different. I had no idea we had multiple mitochondria in a cell.

I’ve had type 1 diabetes for 13 years and for my slight ADHD I decided to try and see what would happen if I stopped injecting insulin at the beginning of the year. I did a bit too much fasting and training but my glucose stayed pretty stable at my CGM and I recently saw that my C-peptide had doubled since last year. Started with KETO but now it’s all meat and butter. Never felt better! I’m 28 years old now and having to go to the worst places on earth (hospitals) at my age isn’t normal.

Dr. Berry, I have been carivorish since February and haven't lost a pound. I eat steak, pork chops, bacon, bone broth, eggs, butter, cheese sometimes, and occasionally cottage cheese. Here are my big cheats; two mugs of coffee with butter, a splash of heavy cream, stevia glycerite, and in my first cup a scoop of collagen protein. Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 32 oz. of water and stevia almost daily. Sparkling water with a couple of drops of stevia. Since Feb, I have made sugar free jello 2 times. I use ketone strips and am in the dark purple zone most of the time and am never out of ketosis. I take methotrexate 2.5, four tablets once a week and levothyroxine .100 mcg daily, along with supplements: Vitamin d3, folate, berberine, l-glutamine, NAC, glycine, l-theanine, magnesium, Boswellia, Devil's Claw, and Bromelain. I am 67, blood pressure 117/79 at the last reading a few days ago, no insulin resistance. I just saw the doctor a couple of days ago and he reported my inflammatory markers were low. I walk daily and do a workout with weights 3 times a week. Why am I not dropping weight?

Both my partner and I have moved over to keto/ketovore almost carnivore since Monday of last week. All thanks to you Dr Berry. We are based in South Africa and we have a Beautiful 3 year old boy. I am starting to wean him off his favorite peanut butter on bread and bananas😅 he is not a big eater. But both my partner and I have lost about 7kgs between us in the past week. My partner is also a diabetic type 2 and have almost chronic kidney stones (due for another laser removal of the stones sometime soon). We mostly drink black sugarless coffee and teas (green teas, rooibos tea) but my husband has also moved over to almond Unsweetened milk that he uses sometimes. Our 3 year old still drinks full cream cow's milk - planning to move him over to goat milk soon. You are even making waves here in South Africa and I am trying to get my vegan/vegetarian soon to be mother in law also on this diet even if she hates meat due to "ethical" purposes. Just takes one Netflix documentary to change her point of view on meat😅 Keep up the good work❤

@danette van rooyen You might look into the info about oxalates, especially by carnivore Sally Norton, the best authority on oxalates. The almond milk could actually help maintain the kidney stones, just so you know. And proteins don’t cause stones, plants (including nuts) do, with oxalates being their poison to humans and certain animals as their way of trying not to be eaten. Good luck! (Me: 5x ox stones, stone-free for 10 years since eating low-ox. My mom and daughter eat low-ox as well due to a history of stones, and we’re all 3 stone-free now 💜)

I use to have a dog who use to eat only meats and bones. Sadly he develop arthritis when he was 6 years old years. Later on, I develop RA too, and did a lot of investigations, and found out that my RA could be because of a bacteria in my joints (Mycoplasma). I did the test and was positive, one of the sources of mycoplasm are rats and ticks, my dog use to kill rats and maybe she got RA for the same reason couple of ticks too, we use to live near a bushland and he sleep in my room. I did 2 years of low dosages of mynocline 3 times a week with the help of my rheumatologist and a mediterranean diet, eating half of what I use to eat, and from time to time fasting. I went into remision very fast. So far I have survive 27 years, there are times that RA comes back when I am under a lot of stress but most of the time I am in remision. Now I am 61, no medication, no diabetes, no cholesterol, etc. I have some damage in my joints but because I did a couple of years of RA medication and I blame them for the damage. In my family there is no RA, my siblings are older than me and all of them are very healthy but they were marry when my dog came to live with us, my mom died fully healthy at 92, but she went crazy about calcium suplement because a doctor told her that she has osthopenia, so she died of bowel severe constipation, to much calcium and not enough water. My mother could be alive today but nobody realize how bad was calcium suplement. So for me Neither vegan, vegetarian, keto, paleo is the solution for everyting. We have to investigate and read a lot to find a proper solution for us, not everyone is the same.

Thank you so much Dr. Berry and Neisha for all the teaching you are giving us on health human diet.
I'm having a problem. I'm 57, diabet type 2, fibromyalgia, and vasovagal syndrome for 17 years after a high risk pregnancy.
I was on 2 types of insulins and Trulicity. After starting Keto diet I lost 50 lb (still more 30 to go).
The doctor took the insulins away (A1C 6.1), and kept only the Trulicity till we could see the next tests results.
The previous blood tests were all great, unless the LDL that was 210 and the A1C was still 6.1. But, after a year and a week of following the new way of eating to the letter (Ketovore diet) with 25g of carbs daily, my blood sugar started to go up like crazy even fasting (18-6). I'm not being able to control it as before, it stays a long time on 200's then falls to 158 and stays there.
Anyone has any idea what may be happening to me?
By the way, the fibromyalgia and arthritis improved a lot after I've changed to butter/lard/avocado oil/ghee/olive oil. Thanks!

Just my guess but Dr. Berry has mentioned many times that some people need to be zero carb to be able to achieve their goals. So while you did see improvement initially, perhaps its time to do a self test and try 90 days of zero carbs. Perhaps your ideal carb # will be that low or maybe it might be in between 0 and 25. But I would try going zero carbs first. (Also the comment about fat becoming sugar is as Dr. Berry says "That's just stupid" imo)

I've been doing carnivore for a month now, and the blood sugar still out of whack and my last A1C came 7.2 when it was already 6.2 before all this reaction. Still trying to figure this out.

As for "whatever works" - oxalates deposit into the body over decades, and only start showing up for most ppl as illnesses later in life, esp vegetarians/vegans.

He was insistent to have one done even though his dr said he was too young. He initially caught it at stage 2 went in remission and it came back later stage 4. My point is get it checked and I hope all is ok and you have a false positive.

I know this... I wish you were my doctor .. you have common sense.
Metformin lowers testerone and low testerone increases insulin resistence. The best treatment is TRT and change of diet.
I know ... for over 3 years my ex-doctor pushed drugs. I finally asked him to do a T level test on me. He asked why . As he said it has nothing to do with it. But he did it andit was 230. He didn't care just pushed higher doses of drugs. I finally started a TRT program on my own a month ago and my T level is 907 as of last week AND I FEEL GREAT
My A1C is dropping. (Plus, I have stopped the drugs)
I told the doctor and he got pissed. As I said, he is now my ex-doctor.

Let me guess. Meat. All meat, all the time. Plus loads of butter and eggs and more meat, all day, every day. Bacon for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pints of saturated fat every day. Because it's so good for you. And our ancient ancestors ate this diet all the time. Fact, nobody ever got heart disease eating this diet. Literally, not one person ever. Look it up. Amazing. Thanks, Dr Berry. Your wonderful advice has saved millions from certain death. I am going to nominate you for the Nobel Peace Prize.
