Hi from Texas! I found your site tonight! Am going to start one tomorrow! Thank you!
You're welcome! How did you bag turn out? Do you need any help?
@@chicnscratch finished a project I had started. Hope to start tomorrow! Have your site saved! Thanks 😊!
I think a decorative stitch along the top would be nice. Thank you for the tutorial.
Great idea!
I've looked at several of your sewing tutorials and I must say you definitely make the instructions easy to follow.
Like this tutorial, the fabric used and the music! Thanks a lot!
I'm English but I loved the American fabric you used at the beginning. Great tutorial :)
Thank you!
Thank you for your videos. I am learning a lot.
You are very welcome
Hello and thank you for this great tutorial. I made several baskets for Christmas gifts after I watch your previous tutorial on baskets. I wanted to share a trip about squaring the bottom. After you cut out the two squares on each side of the bottom and then open it up and refold for sewing there’s a little chunk at each end that doesn’t want to line up evenly. The reason that is happening is because you are starting the measurement all the way to the outside on the edge that has a seam allowance. By doing that, your opening will not be square. If you will start the measurement right at the seam, not the outside edge, you will have a square opening and when you open it up and fold it for sewing, the edges will line up evenly all the way across. In this video you use a square piece of paper, so place that square in the corner and line it up with the bottom all the way to the edge, but don’t go all the way to the edge on the side. Instead, you should line the side of your paper square with the seam. I hope that makes sense and is helpful.
I've made 24 baskets this year for various gifts and some aligned and some didn't thanks for the tip! I learned something new today!
@@kathyb.8769 you’re welcome. It was one of those 💡 moments. I suddenly realized that if you want to cut a true square opening out, then you have to not include the seam allowance. We learn as we go and as we run into challenges. I love to share my discoveries in hopes of helping someone else. Hugs and happy new year from Texas!
Thank you so much Brenda!!
What are the seam allowances?
@@kristinrulison3241 I used a 1/4” seam allowance. Is that what you are asking?
Beautiful ❣️
Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much I really really love ❤❤❤ that basket. It’s super cute. And I love ❤❤ the fabric too. Great video. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thanks!!
Great project! I have lots of extra layer cake squares in my stash! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much!
Thanks for the video. Comprehensive and easy to follow
You're welcome!
I love the fabric. So festive. I watch both you stamping up videos and love the sewing ones as well. Thanks for sharing both crafts with us.
Thank you so much!
Adorable! I don't sew much, but I think I could do this!
thank you!
Love the fabric!!
me too!
Love your fabric baskets. I share them to my daughter as she enjoys sewing. I used the one she made me as a plant pot holder! It’s so cute! It hides the ugly green plastic vase and foil wrapping of the poinsettia plant I bought for Christmas. Thank you for sharing the video.
thanks Anne!
Your nails look fabulous!!
Oh, and i love the video. 😜
Thank you!! 😊
I love this!! Love the material too! You are SO talented. Thank you for sharing cards, and quilting projects!🤗
Thank you so much!

I agree :)
I can’t wait to put some of these together. Thank you for this simple tutorial.
You are so welcome!
Oh my goodness -- love this project, the baskets are adorable and so usable. Thank you for sharing this fabric project, and all the crafter (paper) projects this year. I always learn a great new tip, technique or getting reminded of something I had not used for a long time (or had forgotten about!). Merry Christmas.
You are so welcome! Merry Christmas 🎄

Beautiful
Thank you!

Merry Christmas!
Love no loud music!hy😅😅
I saw someone use "Magic Clips". They have metal "claws" and are thinner and maybe longer.
your fabric is just stunning!! what is it called? Also what is the name of your mini iron? it looks very substantial? And what brand are your scissors? I love the wide handle and black blade... sorry for all the questions.. I just love your baskets and quilting videos... Merry Christmas Angie and thanks for all that you do,,,,
Hi Kathy, the fabric is Holiday Magic by Jan Shade Beach. The Iron is a Rowenta and here's the link to it: amzn.to/37IddaO The scissors are Karen Kay Buckley Perfect Scissors and here's the link to them: amzn.to/3aXxcV6 Thanks!!
@@chicnscratch thank you so very much!!
Did it. Easy as pie. TYFS.
yay!!
Hi You can close the hole with fabric glue.
great idea!
Would you mind doing on where the inside has the fleece and and nothing on the outside. Thank you
I love the deer fabric. Wonder if it is attainable.
I'm sad to say it has sold out. Fabric sells out very quickly!! Especially beautiful fabric.
I need a new iron. I was wondering what kind of smart iron you use. I think I would like to get a smart iron.
Hi Gail, let me do some research. The one I have has been discontinued and I really love it.
So cute, great instructional videos! Where do we get the fabric? When I click on the link it only shows a stocking panel?
Sadly the fabric has sold out but you could keep checking Etsy, I find older fabrics on there all the time.
Does the gray mat help keep your cutting mat from getting warped from the heat of the iron? I've been taught to not iron on cutting mats.
Hi Amanda, the gray mat that I was ironing on is a wool mat for ironing. Yes, never iron on a cutting mat (it will melt it).
Hi Angie, can you tell me how much a pack of layer cakes are where you live in the US as In the UK they seem horrendously expensive. I’m not very good with cutting straight lines so find it very difficult to cut 10 inch squares from fat quarters and would love to make your baskets
In the US they are around $45 before tax and shipping. If my order is large enough I usually get free shipping.
Hi Angie, Love your video! You are a very talented lady! Love your channel ! I have a question, if you can't get the fusable fleece, can you use regular fleece on these projects? Thanking you in advance!
Hi Lillian, I'm not sure, I've never tried regular fleece. If you have some give it a try and let me know how it goes. I've thought about using batting instead but ... the fusible fleece is what makes the basket firm (batting would probably make a very flimsy basket). Do you shop on Amazon? I tried a couple different kinds of fusible fleece and they all work (not just Pelon).
@@chicnscratch Thank you so much for your reply!
Thanks so much for the video. I would love to try this. I am a little confused about the fabric. Do you buy it by the yard and cut it yourself with pinking shears or is this a type of rolled cakes like you see a lot in a sewing shop?? I am not a huge sewer so my terminology may be a bit off. I think that I see the fabric that you used but it looks like there was a snowman on it too so that is what made me wonder if you cut it based on the part of the fabric that you wanted the picture to show or how you did that. Hopefully you understand my question. I would love to give this a try and love that reindeer fabric. Thanks!!!
Hi Carla, I buy precut fabric most of the time. It's easier on my arms/neck/shoulders. Cutting yards of fabric makes me extend my arm and causes pain. I used a Layer Cake on the last fabric basket but you could use any fabric - just cut it to measure 9" x 10".
The fabric I used in my video was purchased at the Fat Quarter Shop and they have sold out of it. Unfortunately fabric sells out almost as quick as it arrives. Hence the reason why I stock pile it :)
Why is this one not reversible I don't understand other than you don't have your personalized tag on the inside it seems to me it could be reversed and just be read on the outside?
On this basket the seam is on the side instead of the top and if you reverse it your seam will be on the outside. If you want reversible, check out my other Fabric Basket video (it's reversible). Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/Pc77eg_GeO0/v-deo.html
I’ve never used fusible fleece. What brand and item number do you use?
I prefer the Pellon 987F - amzn.to/3nqVGdE
But if that one isn't in stock I'll use this one: amzn.to/3nqVGdE - but I prefer the Pellon.
I'm curious why you did not back-tack the seams? Is that normal in crafting projects?
Where did you get your cutting mat? Red is my favorite color!
I bought it at Fat Quarter Shop
@@chicnscratch Thank you!
Angie do you sell your quilted things?🇨🇦
I'm sorry, I do not. I just teach how to make them.
Angie, Where do you buy these precut layer fabrics?
I buy most of them online. My top three choices are Fat Quarter Shop, Missouri Quilt and Etsy.
@@chicnscratch Thank you Angie!
Do you sell these?
I'm sorry, I do not. I just teach how to make them.
Fun project. Your incessant hand twitching is annoying though
hand twitching ... tell me more? are you talking about when I fast forward the video to speed it up? That's the only twitching I can find 🤣
