Hello, I´m not american and learned English when I was 12 now I´m 70 and want to congratulate you for your perfect pronunciation and for your clear and neat explanation on what you want us to learn. Few like you, keep on !!! Thank you very much.
Very clear instructions, I also appreciate the short intro. I just made my first basket but forgot to take into account the direction of the pattern! Oh well, live and learn. It doesn’t matter, it will live in a cupboard with fabric scraps in it, it won’t be wasted. Next time I will cut everything on a mat with a rotary cutter, to get a really nice even cut on both fabrics which I will cut together. I enjoyed my first go at these and will be making more. Thank you for posting this video.
Hi from Canada. I wanted to make a small gift to make for a young girl as I was making a baby gift for their new blended family. It turned out just great. Thanks sew much. I subscribed!
Hello from Scotland! I've previously made lots of fabric baskets but you're method is soooo much better and quicker. I only interfaced the outer fabric and it turned out great. Also the perfect size so thank you!!
LOVE this... I'm a bit of a beginner and have always wanted to do more. I've bought fabric too, and haven't used it... ever... LOL. This is a great project to get me going. I must say too, that I really like that miniature sewing machine, I've never seen anything like it before. Angie, Thank you so much for sharing.
What a great little project, Angie. I always make a special little table box with little gifts (like a Christmas stocking)for everyone at our family Christmas table. Usually, it’s a fancy one made from cardstock , but I have LOTS of Christmas fabrics left over from making 10 Christmas quilts for all our grandchildren. This would be a great way to use those up and would be a great alternative to change it up a bit. Thanks for the idea! ❤
Absolutely brilliant idea! I do this instead of advent calendars, and reuse them every year. I am in full Christmas present mode at the moment, are you? 😀
1/4" seam around the top to close the opening or 1/2"... I thought you said it was easier to match up the closing with a 1/2" seam? I have had so much fin making your fabric baskets they are are so cute! Thanks so much Angie ~ Hugs, Gale The Happy Stamper :)
Thanks so much I’ve been wanting to make one for my clips for ages. I made mine smaller than yours and found it hard to sew at the end as it wouldn’t fit around my machine but inter end I have what I needed. Thanks again
Thanks for this tutorial! I didn't have any interfacing on hand, so I used fusible fleece. Its little harder to turn inside out, but it came out great! My hubby is sick, so I made this for him to throw his used tissues away.
Hello, im a new subscriber and love your tutorial of the fabric basket. Im going to make one this week with Easter fabric i have and fill it with ten fabric bunnies im making. Thank you for the clear, concise instruction. Your instruction is so relaxed, makes me believe i am able to make this basket! You are a true inspiration. Thank you! Im excited to view your other tutorials!
You are so clear with your instructions, thank you, Iam thoroughly enjoying your videos. I’ll have to do it by hand, don’t know to use sewing machine 😢😅😅
I was looking for something to watch in the background while ripping out an elastic waistband as I’ve already made some of these baskets. I noticed towards the end of the video the mini ironing /sleeve board, I have been looking for something like this for a long time so it really paid off watching your video anyway Also appreciate the very short intro .
SUPER CUTE Basket, LOVE the fabric and THANK YOU for the wonderful video with good explanations too! I've learned so much from you and totally enjoy your videos! Big Thanks!
I just made my first fabric bag/basket the other day following your older video. I just love the way these look. Thank you for taking the time to share how to make these. I can't wait to make more.
I am a new subscriber and love your creative/daring projects. I will give this one as well as the gift bags a try!!! It's a nice break from "quilting". Keep the videos coming - they are well done!
I LOVE what you said about the 1/2" seam at the top! That makes so much sense. I'm going to do that always from now on for everything! Thank you for that! Question, about how big of an opening did you leave? ~4"?
"Baby blue"your work is beautiful 🏆 , your accent is so adorable 🤗thank you for sharing your project now let's see if my bags come out as well as yours👩as my son says,👦" Mom they probably sewed the same type of project about a hundred times..... let's see them make boxers out of baby fabric like you did for dad😀.
HI Angie, I absolutely love your baskets. In the video, you mention that you can make 2 fabric baskets with 2 fat quarters. What are the sizes that you are making them? Thank you.
Great tutorial, thank you. Do you have measurements for other sizes? I was thinking of making a narrower and taller basket as gifts for some crafty friends of mine. Your instructions are very clear and I do appreciate that.
I've made four sizes so far. The size in this video and here's the other three: 10″ x 18″ (shown in Fabric Basket original video) 7″ x 18″ (orange basket) 11″ x 18″
This weekend the Fat Quarter Shop was celebrating their birthday. I bought this fabric at 20% off. I can’t wait to make these baskets. Thank you for sharing!!!
I really enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. One thing I would I would like to ask where do you get all this beautiful fabric ? I hope you’ll be making more sewing videos real soon.
I love your fabric baskets Angie - thank you so much for sharing. I don't sew but my Mom did and I always loved watching her sew. I have a cousin who sews & quilts I'm going to share this with her on Pinterest. Thanks again Angie 🙂
I’m new to sewing and wondering if you used a walking foot (it didn’t look like it). With cutting the interfacing 1 inch smaller, that helps with the thickness and perhaps eliminate the need for a walking foot. Thank you, in advance, for that clarification. 😁
Beautiful fabric combination. You explain so well and very easy to understand what you want us too do! Really like your bracelet, where can I find one? Enjoy watching your videos and looking for tote bags with long handles on both side that also go on bottom of bag? Any Easter suggestions? 🐣
New subscriber here. So nice to meet you. I love your box bag. Your instructions were so understandable and I believe I'll be making one or more soon. You have a lovely voice and are so patient which I appreciate at age 73. Looking forward to all your videos, you are very talented. Love 💕😘 from Debbie and Dexter-Dog my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California. 🙋😯🐝🤞🏡🐤🐦👍🙏🌻🇺🇸
Angie - your baskets are super cute. I think they would be very useful. Your pressing mat with the vintage sewing pattern is vey nice looking. Thanks for sharing with us. I hope Brooke is doing ok now.🙏 Thanks for sharing your lovely projects with us ! Have a great week👏👏👏💕🌻💐
Hi, I’ve made a few and in different sizes, but I’ve struck a problem with what measurements I do when cutting out the squares for make the bottom. On the 14” x 20” we cut a 2” boxing the corners, is it the same for a 10” x 16” or a smaller one 6”x 12”? It’s not really working as I get a rectangle not a square. Looking forward to your reply. 🎉❤
Hi, I am a new subscriber (I am Peters wife - Sue but it would not let me change the name) I love this tutorial. I was wondering if I wanted to make the bag a little longer can you advise how much I would need to increase the square for the cut out section. Many thanks
Would you share where you source your oh-so-cute labels for ChicnScratch? I bought fabric today to make fabric baskets as gifts. One of the fat quarters in my bag has a directional print -- red pickups & the reason I chose the collection. Any suggestions making this print into a fabric basket?
Yes I do! I bought it on Etsy. Her shop is closed right now but here's the link: www.etsy.com/listing/917922050/ironing-board-countertop-w-feet-for?ref=yr_purchases
I did the measurements as you stated but my outer bag was way to big. What I ended up doing was fold it down but I can still seethe folds I had to make in the outer basket. I will attempt to try it again. It is easy if the measurements would work out.
Bonjour, dommage de ne pas avoir les dimensions en centimètres. Pour le corps du panier, on arrive à savoir en convertissant mais combien font les côtés du petit carré coupé de chaque côté en bas 6cm sur 5cm où plus ??? Merci.....
I just made this basket beginner friendly. ❤my basket.

I use 1/2" seam when sewing the lining fabric and the front fabric together. All the other seams are 1/4". Thanks Gale!
Your instructions are very easy to follow! I made it a little smaller and I love the result. Thank you so much!

Great tutorial thanks. When I make these boxes I put interfacing on the liner fabric and the outer fabric because it makes a mych stiffer basket.
OMGoodness, thank 🙏 you for this!! I LOVE 🥰your baskets; sometimes I wish I win only for the basket lol. Thank you for all that you do.

Good video with good instructions. I think when I make some I'll use Bosal or Soft and Stable to give the bag a bit more structure.
Have you found a good deal on the Bosal for bulk buying? I make so make baskets that I can't afford to use it.

HI Angie, I absolutely love your baskets. In the video, you mention that you can make 2 fabric baskets with 2 fat quarters. What are the sizes that you are making them? Thank you.
Great baskets. I would leave an opening on the side seam of the lining. You can then sew all the way around the top.
I found when leaving an opening on the side seam that the basket would no longer be reversible.
I have just made one of these baskets - it is the very first thing I have ever sewn! Thank you for the wonderful tutorial!
Wow... that makes me so happy!! I bet you can't stop with just one basket! Happy sewing!!
Love these will being making TFS.
