  • After the Teardrop is built and used for the first season, it sits and waits for the next season. How well has it held up? What things need to be done now? Truck bedliner seems to be the answer for preventing rusty fenders.

Great idea! Going to use some bed liner spray myself. Just noticed I have some delamination on my filon roof. wonder if that's your next video? yuk
Hey but thanks again, i've been following this build and i'm 95% done on mine. Your vids really helped me on your teardrops sister or cousin out here in Colorado

Hi Steve. What a great seies of videos. I'm shortly going to be starting on my own teardrop build, and I've just finished watching all of your videos. There are a couple of things you didn't show, which it would be good to see.
Firstly, you didn't show the fitting of the galley hatch seal, and obviously that's the thing you are having trouble with. Could you show it in detail when you replace the existing, please? I'm doing a very different type of hatch and seal, but would like to see yours to see what the weakness is. So many of these hatches seem to leak. I'm planning on 2 parallel seals, with a coved "gutter" between them to lead any water that gets past the first seal down to the bottom and out.
Secondly, you had a problem with the bottom shelf fouling on the galley hatch (well, you know, the other way around). You didn't show what you did to deal with that (where you routed out).
Finally, have you considered fitting outside lights above the doors?

Hi Mike. Thank you and you are right. I think at that point in the build I was frustrated and couldn't focus on filming and on the problems at the same time...Let me see what I can do. An outside light could be done with proper planning. You would need to run the wiring before putting the roof together...

I am getting ready to build using the same set of plans and after seeing your door windows leak I’m not sure about using the same doors that you did. Were you able to solve the water leak?

Hi Mark, Who would have thought factory doors where such a challenge. I've come up with a way of dealing with the leaking windows...(see my next video). I wouldn't buy these again. You can get doors that have fixed glass; with a screen door inside. So you can leave the door open for air. that is all I've come up with so far...Sorry I don't have a better answer

Hi Diego. The insert came with the corner molding. It is defiantly worth upgrading if you can
