I’m 24 and planning on doing this imminently, sick of the system, sick of not being able to afford my own place on a full time wage and having to forever live at my parents, sick of the cost of living! Time to break the shackles as you say mark
Go for it!
You got nothing to lose go for it.
I don't know where you live, but head for Cumbria: theres hardly anyone there and it feel's massive. It will feel like it's all yours, a good place to stop....and then start after a good think. Best of luck, right behind you, actually.
And why can you not afford anything? Because your corrurpt government has brought most of the Third world to live in your country. Enjoy the diversity. Enjoy living in a can while a family from India get a home.
@@MadMarkThePopularLoner Happy days while a migrant has a home. You piss taker.
"Been Successful" is when your truly happy and content in life, it ain't all about numbers and money
Success is about (especially if you're old and ugly) having enough money and power to tap the hot shallow poontang, and own loads of expensive gadgets n siht

Amen man I hope we all get to experience that kind of success
I love this, I'm selling my house and buying a motorhome at the tender age of 54. I live in West Australia. For all the same reasons as Mark I can't wait, simple, minimalistic life is where it's at. Me doing my bit to leave a minimal footprint, and have minimal bills. Live amongst nature, and not in suburbia, I cannot wait.
Well done Mark, your living the dream in my eyes.
It costs a lot to park your motorhome in caravan parks each night, and I don't know if your motorhome is allowed to park on the sides of residential streets for several days at a time Have you checked all the laws out?
Western Australia is so beautiful, absolutely my favourite part of your country, hope I will be able to return some day. All the best!
The govt officers ( police) will tell you to move on . IF they have time
how about sex ?
@@maximolotov Minimal bills. He cannot wait.
This is such a reflection of just how bad things have gotten and how hopeless ppl feel
well amwricans have voted for governemnt for generatiosn that will make life hard for them and housing unnafoordable so its nots strange its happening since the american ppl have worked ahrd to get to this point for generations
Worked 3 years as a scuba instructor on a Thai Fishing trawler running liveaboard diving holidays from Phuket up to the Similain Islands. A silk hammoch, two pairs of shorts, T Shirts and a toothbrush. The shower was a bucket and saucepan. Gas ring and a calor bottle. Lived on fresh fruit rice and fish. Best days of my life.
Love that! 🙌
I’ve done many scuba trips to the Similan Islands, Andaman Divers was my preferred scuba club…..awesome place to dive 👍
You forgot to say about how you got a debilitating dose of clap from a very cute rent boy and have never worked since. 😄
and then what happened?
Where did you shit and how often did you get sick?

Milking it now mate
Yes, but hopefully he is saving enough money to one day buy a small property or retirement home abroad. This is great for short-term or an extended term for saving a ton of money. But this is no way to live forever. Terrible quality of sleep and always roughed up by nature and vehicle maintenance.
hmm not so sure id want to be showering and washing my clothes in a ditch
He’s also living in a shitty van, with no toilet, shower, space to put anything, no fridge or freezer, no decent way of cooking, it’s freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer, and a constant feeling of insecurity because you can’t stay anywhere long. Plus you can’t have any friends over or sit down for a nice dinner. Most people would give it up after a couple of weeks.
I was plaster the wife a nurse in 2018 we built a van (lwb sprinter), in 2020 we jacked our jobs sold our house and have been travelling the UK and Europe ever since, it really was the best move we ever made, we'll never go back to bricks .
Sending love, peace and good energy to this beautiful soul 🙏🏻 ❤️
I'm an architect and I live the same way part time. Always loved vans. All my posessions fit in a large suitcase and I have never been happier. I design house renovations and extensions for people and I think they are absolutely mad the price they end up paying for enlarging an already large house.
The rat race is insanity. Where are the all going?
Live in a £1.3 million house, my business makes me about £175,000 a year, but I don't feel particularly wealthy as my outgoings are excessive. This gent looks like a wealthy man, his world belongs to him and thatvis true wealth.
When you realise that wealth has little to do with money & possessions you will finally be on the path to achieving true wealth.
It puzzles me these days why most people get sucked in the what we are told this is how you should live life, as life is controlled some may not see it , spend spend spend, nice things 3+1 kids money makes the world go around but it also destroys the planet and makes life stressfull and you work for everyone else as all your money goes out . Horses for causes I guess as the saying goes , it certainly is shackles . Just sold my vito just bought a Nissan NV200 bit smaller for a lot more the gallon and I do prefer the driving over the vito
@@RebeccaHollyGreen they do rot for sure my ex had one for work the bottom practically dropped out of it lol but it was a work vehicle. My arches rotted but caught them before it got to bad . I took magic mushrooms and they cured my addictions, depression and anxiety. And since then, I’ve bought a van and I’m currently fitting it out to live in it. I feel just like this guy. I love nature, don’t wanna be part of the rat race, just wanna exist in peace.
now the real work starts, an external substance can't fix permantely. just show you the way
@@marktwain-ik6vp sorry but I think you’re half wrong. Mushrooms made me (and plenty other people I know personally) ‘realise’ things. Once you ‘realise’ you don’t have to think a certain way or do a certain thing, you can’t un-realise it. It becomes part of you immediately. Imagine trying your whole life to solve a puzzle. Then one day you find how it works. You can never not be able to solve it again. It becomes instantly easy. No matter how many decades it took. Mushrooms made me realise I gave my trauma and depression its power over me by thinking about it all the time. I realised I could just never think of it again. And I haven’t since. It’s like that part of my brain had all connections to it, broken. One of my trips was me holding a door closed while monsters and demons were banging on the other side. I was exhausted from holding it closed my whole life. Mushrooms bust the door open and through it came nothing but peace and love. I didn’t even feel stupid that I wasted my whole life holding those things back. I just felt so relived.
Hey, i just took the MM too, and i have 3 months left on lease, it cured my addictions etc. how are you doing so far? I cant believe i read this comment, i literally had the same thing happen to me. please lmk thankyou

There's nothing fair about it mate. Its dangerous living in a vehicle especially for women. I remember reading stories like this about people in America living in campervans and cars, crying that they had no life, washing and going to the toilet in McDonald's. But American has been a basket case society for a 100 years because of the J's and what they have done to their banking system. Migrants from Africa and India have now taken this mans home and you try to normalise it. That's sick and twisted.
While he lives in a van freezing cold and his country is overrun with migrants living in New council houses and you call that happy? Happy for who? You and your ego perhaps.
@@MadMarkThePopularLoner I am deluded, really, your the one mate with the shovel " You pointed it out on the video" digging a hole in the ground to defacate. 5 Star Hotels all over the UK house fighting age men much younger than you mate. Lovely warm beds, food and drink on tap, benefits and then there's you. Freezing your arse off frying an egg on a candle stick burner and taking a leak in the woods in the middle of winter. So you were saying......
As long as you're happy. That's priceless.
Respect to this guy he’s so humble and appreciate the earth around him ❤
Second month into van life .... I'm absolutely loving it , it's so stress free and cheap , got spare money I've never had before ☝👍👍
I think one of the best things a person can do for themselves is let go of being attached to worldly possessions. Not easy to do. But if you can it's in every way possible incredibly liberating
Very true we don't own our stuff our stuff owns us.
Honestly, Americans biggest fear is poverty. They will sacrifice anything to not experience it. Literally sell their souls.
Lived in a camper van for 5 years, definitely some of the best years of my life. Good on you Mark, life is definitely for living and not just to pay extortionate bills. Love your attitude to life and can say that nature is the most important thing for me too. Being connected to mother earth is " real "
Very right
I have cycled around Europe for months at a time. A tent was my home and two pannier bags. Never been happier. My luxury was having a shower and a beer. I was never lonely, meeting so many friendly people and being away from the media world we live in.
The construct of the consumer and mortgage world is for others to make money out of us, especially the banking system.
Love that
Lived in a Campervan since age 19. I'm 32 now and I still absolutely love it
On the 3 occasions from overseas travel where I had to temporarily move back into a house for renting/sharing with people I absolutely hated it. Houses are a complete nightmare & the expenses are ridiculous
That’s seriously impressive. Which country if I may ask?
Hi can I ask how you dealt with the council tax people I am moving into a van and they want forwarding address but I don't want to get anyone in trouble by giving a forwarding address.
I've been full time in my van for just over 2 years , saved a small fortune , my van is a lwb merc, fully kitted out ,toilet, shower, cooker, sink , solar etc,
wish I'd done this years ago. Minimalist is the way 😂, next step for me is a canal boat . Don't knock it til you tried it !👍🏾
How do you get on in the winter time
Not sure what happened seems like a solid fella think he was bullied off youtube and his channel. Sad to see someone’s dreams crushed by some trolls. Good at ya bud hope ya come back
Well done Mark, thanks for an informative tour of your van. I've dropped out of working life at 57 and travelling in a small caravan with solar power - so liberating not being trapped in the system anymore.
What a gent, humble, kind and honest to the point guy. Well done mate and thank you. I’m a gas engineer based in Sussex and I’ll be joining this life shortly!
So would you do it? There are certain things that would make you less secure. Note that he is at most only a semi-loner. His family, including grandchildren, do live in houses, or fixed abodes.

@@Pabz2030 Very well said.
Living in a van or even a camper will become stressfull because i lived in a large caravan for 1 year, and i was glad that i found a house
because the caravan got packed to the roof with my personal stuff, and then the walls are going to close in on you, so it's not that
romantic and free as this and alot of other people want us to believe.
And look at this guy, his van is packed to the roof and it looks all cosy and nice, but it's a living hell during the cold and rainy days,
and when he get past the age of 70, he will find out that living in that van becomes a hassle, and then he should hope that he stays
in good health because else he's screwed alright.

For me it’s been 8 years full-time living in a small van - VW T5… Similar circumstances to Mark and similar age. It ensures I can continue to give my daughter a stable life and to give her a good education - especially in today’s economic climate.
Since COVID, I also work in the van. I’m a Tech Nomad - as long as I have a good 4G/5G network I can work remotely.
To be honest, I do have a few challenges - especially legal stealth wild camping in England - and the usual issues of living in a small space.

He seems like a really nice guy who is very happy. I am not in a van but would love to learn more minimally like him, makes you think when you see how much stuff you have in my flat that I never touch! GL man, keep loving life.

Good luck to him. It's hard to do this in the UK because of our weather. He's disciplined, which is what you need to be a minimalist. Most people can't bear to be parted from all their stuff.
Our weather is a piece of piss compared to many countries
@@ezo2161 true, but it’s generally dismal
@MrPistolpete1234
No it isn't. It's generally mild and manageable, and rarely creates any big problems like many other countries. More days with sun than with rain too.
@@lyndoncmp5751 Yeah I just acknowledged that. Just I don’t like grey skies and/or drizzle for 75% of the year
@@MrPistolpete1234
Where the fvck do YOU live? It's not grey and drizzly for 75% of the year where I live. In the south. In fact I love rainy days. I have far fewer rainy days than sunny days.
Its 30 degrees and scorching this week.
Keep living the dream. You basically described me. I have a transit swb and love tiny van living. I've lived in my van 3 yrs and your right it does humble you and it's helped ground me in nature and get back to what it means to truly be alive. I have so much respect for people taking the leap and realising we have been living in a crazy way. It's all about self control and understanding and being able to look after myself in a simple way that makes all the difference to my health and well being. And yes the money saved is great too. Keep busy my van dwelling friend
Agree 1000%. Greetings from Pacific Northwest, USA. Live free!
Good for you Mark. You have a brilliant outlook on life
Stay humble and stay blessed brother!!!!
Love this guy’s energy ❤️
glad i watched this as it cheered me up. simple things are all we need and we can easily get by with very little. fair credit to you my man.
Superb , I'm envious!
Absolutely brilliant, total respect for you choosing van life, I wish you all the best and good health 👍

Some great tips thanks Mark. Especially the christmas tree holders
At 47, appreciating the simpler things in life is something I wished I learned years ago.
I have watched more vanlife videos than I care to admit but YOURS has by far been the most helpful.
Just seeing how happy you are sealed the deal for me.
I'm going through my belongings... keeping only the essentials and making the jump.
I believe I'll be out on the road by Oct.
Be well my friend and thank you for sharing honestly and covering all that you did.
Nailed it !
Currently living with my family like this. I agree with everything you have said. Inspirational video. Great to watch
Spot on!!!!! Fantastic!!!
Many Thanks 👍!
Wow! On all levels.. real food for thought - on even more… salute to you, sir. The courage to do this is off the chart, as well as ‘the grid’. 👨🏽🔬🫡🧘🏽♂️
Absolute inspiration.
Thank you.
Thank you Mark for this beautiful, amazing, honest, humble video. Totally agree with your values and way of life. I am trying to live a similar life whenever I can but still tied up with some responsibilities.
🙏🏻❤😊
I got divorced at 43 had to start all over again , wish I'd done this instead of buying a house but needed to have a place for my daughter to stay over , 52 now , a roofer and seriously thinking about it . Great insight there , peace .
Go for it I did it for two years best years of my life. I'm truly considering going back.
Do it brother, I did and I love living this way. Im a cabinet maker, and I live in a box truck that doubles as my mobile shop.

What a cool guy .. Love his humility and talks sense..
I'm in the middle of starting van life & can't wait to explore my country. Love your vid mate you summed it all up. Simple & humble.
What a lovely man you are Mark...You only need the simple things in life for wealth, health and happiness ❤
That smile at the end of the video, said enough for me...priceless!!!!
Humble guy who is living his best life. Really enjoyed this video. I’ll be looking for your videos Mark to hear about your van life adventures
The best and brightest spot of this video is the fact his family/children are still in his life. Because the vast majority of so-called "Family" AND "Friends" will turn their backs on a person like this man.
😂😂"hy wil nie regkom nie", sal n colored familie vi hom se.

I did the same thing for the same reasons. Im a cabinet maker. I have a shop in an industrial park, and I live in a box truck that doubles as my mobile shop. It is so refreshingly easy after living in houses with property to care for and rent/mortgage/taxes to pay. Just me and my dog, we stay at a different place every night rotating among about 12 great spots. All have wild land nearby, some are near lakes or rivers.
Do you poop outside with your dog? You wouldn’t even need toilet paper. You could drag your arse across the ground .
Look at you, killing it my friend.

Wow.
Amazing.
Landlords can stick their high rents up their posterior.
Councils can stick their high rip off council tax up theirs too.
VAN LIFE IS VERY A STRESSFUL AND VERY A INCONVENIENT LIFE!!!! NO RUNNING WATER TO CLEAN YOUR BODY NO PROPER ELECTRICITY FOR PROPER TEMPERATURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that all the items he owns are very intentional and serves a purpose
Awesome, All the power to you buddy!
Van life really puts life into perspective! Awesome van Mark! 🤙

That pop out mirror kills it...! 🔥👍
Mirror mirror on the wall who is the coolest van lifer of them all!! 😂
Perfect set up!!. Wonderful advice for what to buy and how to fit up van. Great outlook on life too!! .
Amazing , best of health and happiness to you Mark.😊👍
Fair play mark on your choice of living. I done the same. No house now with all the costs of bills. Now live off grid in a caravan. Just solar for electricity and a big bottle of gas that lasts for about 4 months. Big respect to you mark and a cracking van you've got. All the best 👍
Good for you mate, you look and seem very happy with your life. You just said “stuff everyone as this is what I want” so good on you. ❤

Good man! I've been doing this for years. I love it.
wow much respect mark loved your video so much i have just bought a van that' is what i and i guess so many others are looking for very impressed with your set up thank you
Thanks for sharing sir
As a 60 yr old I can see the advantage of the simple life, funny but I am also a bricklayer a bit fed up with the daily grind .
Although I've spent the last 10 yrs living in a small village in Bohol in the wintertime when work is scarce here in the UK .
Your video is certainly a inspiration to me .
Take care be safe .
I'm currently building a house mostly on my own and live in a caravan. At first I thought it would be crap, but now a year later I love it. Cant say that for the house. I totally get the van life concept. A bit of hardship is a small price to pay for jettison all the stress that goes with the traditional system. Props to you!
Fantastic..... Great attitude. Good bloke. Hats off to you sir.
