Woah! Nostalgia OVERLOAD… Tears of joy for the happy memories & river of sadness because those golden childhood years of mine can never be here again… At least we got the the cherished memories & the knowledge that we had some good ol’ days long ago…
Can't help getting wet eyes with this song. It really gives the feeling of the end of an era. I miss those movies. And those guys. Bandit & Smokey, I salute you.
+Luciano Teixeira I only watched Smokey and the bandit three days ago. And somehow at the end of the third movie when I heard this song, I felt the same way. The end of the era. One I wasn't even born in.
SupraManG You’re welcome, sorry I didn’t reply sooner as I never got a notification saying anyone responded lol Still this video has so much more emotion now ,
Slyrine ShadowGirl Thanks, again I never got a notification that people had responded to my comment lol Just randomly checked the video again and I see it ,
This song will always sum up the Bandit Trilogy for me more than east bound and down !! Great tribute video dude, made me reflect on my younger days in front of the TV watching these movies without a care in the world :)
Good classic movie. 39 years old and still like the movie and the two songs on the soundtrack.. Ticket for the wind and it aint the gold. Good country songs.😊😁👍😇.
Much appreciated. I was looking for precisely THIS. Best part of a farcical (but still watchable) movie. I remember being floored by this closing score over the credits. Thanks again!
Dude my dad showed me these movies when I was 3 I will never get old of these movies I have a collectors set of all the movies I would always laugh with my father it’s always the good memories that makes me watch all 3 movies every month I love you man I know I’m late but you are the best for making this
Yes watching these movies takes me back to my childhood. They eint make movies like this anymore and thats a shame. Great job on the video and for all the clips that went with it. I love it
The was a well done video. I admire what you did for all of us who grew up on this comedic and action packed 80's film. You have my much deserved respects. So to you I say THANK YOU for giving us this video, song and memory to stay in our hearts and soul forever. These actors will live on always!!
This is awesome! I always have loved this song ever since I first saw Smokey & The Bandit 3. Finding the soundtrack is next to impossible too! Granted the video clips are from the original Bandit, it's still better than a still shot!
Great tribute to Jackie Gleason and you have to remember that John Stewart was a great talent as well and will also be missed. This song and the equally good "Midnight Wind" where Stevie Nicks provides some vocal are two of my faves. Thanks for posting this; it really brings me back to those great '80s where the music was a helluva lot better than today and the movies were pretty good as well!
Man memories when that song played at the end of movie 3 I knew it was over :( This was indeed a great video with the song in the background! I'd love to hit a few of them back roads like they did in those movies...However most of those are a thing of the past. I'd have to say its probably one of the reason I wear a badge!
Thanks for bringing this Video back! I appreciate you still giving the time to put effort to both John Stewart and Jackie Gleason. But also a mjor shout out to the one and the only Jerry Reed. These 3 will always place insperation to me and what America did have. Thank You for bringing it back and will always love viewing this over and over for entertainment and memories. God Bless!
Just don't make fun innocent movies like this anymore! Very much of their time and very 70s and 80s American. Great stunts and the song fits beautifully with the movies! If we could all live our lives as we did 30 years ago where people had conversation, respect and appreciation for one another at a slower and simpler pace of life we would be all healthier and happier, good times😉.
Love this video. That song wrapped the end of an era. Kind of bittersweet. #3 wasn't a very good film but it had some really good moments and good music.
And today, my old uncle used his ticket for the wind... A guy who trailled american roads in his youth. My second father. and he loved these movies. I was planning a trip to the US with him next year, but God had a different idea. Now, my dear uncle cruises the highways in heaven, with Smokey and the Bandit with no sunset to finish the story. Go in peace, my dear. Hope to see you again (if my sins allow it...), driving the Mustang of your dreams. Good Bye, big man.
i just love this song and how this video turned out. Could someone please let me know what year and make of the car that had the roof taken off? I wanna find a car like that to add to my collection. I have played this now over 10 times in a row. Just love it!
What a beautiful song...we all knew he was sick but I never thought his last days was going to be killed by a bull considering the business he was in and how many attempts on his life over the seasons 🥴
Eastbound and Down was a good song, but this one summed up the Bandit-Buford dynamic with more nostalgia. It would have been great it had been done for the first movie
a lot of these songs were only done for the movie, like in top gun where tom is walking out of the class, she’s yelling lieutenant” you hear berlin humming take my breath away” then she chases him off base, id give anything for that score ✌🏻
"let me tell you sonethin Junior... If you ever embarrass me like that again... I'm gonna get an axe... And you'll never have to open your fly again..."... LMAO😂!!
you can see the attached file for your help with the other day I Buford I love you you are so cool do another Bandit video of you with your cop car again I mean new cop car again
actually... there is a video where the trans am was beaten on dirt roads by the general lee, and in a drag race aswell... the bandit couldnt touch the general lee.. and actually the 400 that was in his car could only produce 280HP compared to the generals 440, which produces 395HP (possibly 400-450hp due to shows modifications)
Most definitely. The Pontiac was after the fuel crisis and missed most of the HPs from the late 60s/early 70s. Check the engine specs of the Pontiac and Charger - not even close. Charger wins in a landslide.
I'm an OTR trucker and this is my daily startup song. Jackie Gleason you're the greatest!
It's mine now and I'm a delivery driver.
If only I had a genie to grant me a wish, I’d 100% go back to them days.
Brilliant song, even music isn’t no where near as good nowadays.
Woah! Nostalgia OVERLOAD… Tears of joy for the happy memories & river of sadness because those golden childhood years of mine can never be here again… At least we got the the cherished memories & the knowledge that we had some good ol’ days long ago…

+Luciano Teixeira I only watched Smokey and the bandit three days ago. And somehow at the end of the third movie when I heard this song, I felt the same way. The end of the era. One I wasn't even born in.
+AgentOrange859 yeah an end of a generation that I wasn't born in
Nor was I.
AgentOrange859 I was born in 2002 but my dad showed me smokey and the bandit years ago
couldn't be said any better. True love to those eras
"Eastbound and Down" was the Bandit's theme but this song describes ol' Buford to a T. 😉
Such a touching tribute to Jackie Gleason. RIP.
Hal Needham and Burt created something magical that will live forever! Godspeed fellas!
I'm instantly transported back to happier and simpler times ^^
Although the movie is the weakest of the trilogy, this song epitomises the essence of the 'Bandit'. R.I.P Burt.
NAHHHHH 3 IS THE WEAKEST!!!😪😪
Now Burt Reynolds has joined both Jackie Gleason and Jerry Reed in heaven where the chase continues 👍 All 3 legends RIP
I agree with you on that X24RIDER
@X24RIDER This is such an honorable saying. This truly came from the heart and soul. Thank you for this!

Like Buford would say NO Shit 🙂
Me too
yes i miss Sheriff Buford T Justice. This song brings tears to your eyes....Ride on Smokey..Ride on Bandit...
My favorite line: " What we are dealing with here... Is a complete lack of respect for the law..."
@@ZIQUIZIRA34 he created that line on the spot. Such a comic genius
Sad, Gleason and Reynolds are gone now. Life is short. Live every day like it's your last
The Bandit, the Snowman, and Sheriff Buford T. Justice will ride the highways of Valhalla eternal, shiny and chrome.
(R.I.P) Burt Reynolds hope you riding high Bandit

agreed - this video is the definition of bittersweet
This is awesome! I always have loved this song ever since I first saw Smokey & The Bandit 3. Finding the soundtrack is next to impossible too! Granted the video clips are from the original Bandit, it's still better than a still shot!

Oh, I don't know that the song is THAT hard to find. John Stewart was a fantastic singer and songwriter.
That was pretty good! Nice tribute.
