Mine runs and randomly stops after some time. While shutting off pulling the mower back so back wheels spin makes it start again and continue. What seems to be the issue ?
I just subscribed to your channel.. Thanks for the great tips .. I got a free ego Ln2100sp which will propel but the lights don’t come on hoping it’s the fuse .. I have a lm2000 and another lm2100sp… so this is my project mower
Hi Dan,… how did you get them to do that,… my self propelled only works in slow, when you push the speed lever forward nothing happens ( and the slow speed is so slow it’s not even worth using because it’s about 1/4 of walking speed )…. So frustrating for an old coot like me whose already had one heart attack and really don’t want another one .
in the self propel board check you are testing the red and black from the board?? I ask because you then test the black from the plug to the same black wire as before but comment it is the black going out to the motor ( do you mean it is the black wire connected to the board that goes to the motor) - were not testing the wire coming off the motor except to hit it with a charge to test the motor???
Great VIDEO! Batteries, Fuse, PCBA's, relays and wires all checkout, and blade spins freely by hand but NO POWER (lights, cutting motor, SP). Any other tips?
My EGO LM2102SP lawnmower started making a rough noise and won't run. I had just finished cutting the front lawn and took it to the back when it started doing it. Battery is fully charged.
I have an issue with mine. With the blade installed, and the handle is pulled, the motor will come on for a split second, then shut off and the orange light flashes fast. If I remove the blade it runs fine. I assume it's the overload sensor, but I cannot figure out where that is located
Did you find a solution? I have the same issue. I took my blades off to sharpen them and after I put them back on I have to pull the handel several times for it to start up. Like it is on too tight or something.
The light and motor do not work when engaged. However, self propel works normally. I did all the fuse, battery, PCB, and motor tests and everything passed. Does that mean there’s something wrong with the handle assembly? How can I troubleshoot that?
there is not much on the handle check wires and switches for continuity and low resistance. sound like something in the main pcba you tested the circuit but there are other issues that can not tested.
At about 1:30 you show how to test for a short in the switch assembly and that if moving the handle turns it on, to replace the switch assembly? But which switch? Isn’t there one for the handle position, one to make sure the handle is fully extended, one for the bail, and one for the green button? And are there instructions for replacing it?
We generally do the whole switch assembly that replaces all the wires. The part cost is low enough that it better to do that the fox one wire say in the selfdrive then few week later wire in the blade side brakes from same stress factor. There is a video on here to show the removal and reinstall of that part.
Hi, I have a LM2142sp. Are there any differences in diagnostic procedure? Symptoms: Self propel works fine, blade wont start, no light on the power unit, led headlights wont turn on. Fuse tests good. Moving handle up and down doesn't make a difference.
Do you happen to have a video for the 2140sp? The wiring seems to be very different and I dont know which ones to test. The pcba in 2140 seems to be unique to the 2140 also
I have noticed that my LM2100 will only run when I put a battery in that is not fully charged. A 25 - 50% battery will run it. A 100% battery will not. Any thoughts?
Hi Matt, I have a Ego 2100 Push Behind, I hit a rock a few weeks back, and the mower died. Wont run, but I have power. Headlights turn on. I tested my fuse with a multimeter and it passes. I tried removing the blade and inspected around the area and do not see anything that shouts broken or needing to be fixed. Could the rock have killed the motor? Or is there anything else I can test? Have not tested the pcba but will do that when I grab some zip ties. Thanks, Tyler
I just tested for the pcba, I had my wife hold the bale down. My multimeter is old and does not show in decimal form but assuming the number shown is a decimal. I got 548, so assuming it was reading as .548. I see the max range is .55, am I to assume this passes or fails being right at the upper end of the allowed reading? Thanks, Tyler
AHAHA, i forgot to test for the mosfets in the pcba, just did it, and it returned like a 1.289 or something like that so assuming I just need to replace the pcba. Let me know what you think. I am not sure how hitting the rock could have fried the pcba so curious on your input on all of this. Thanks, Tyler
yes hitting a rock can burn the pcba. the text that goes from the negative battery blade the range on that is acutely .800 to .975 so looks like the both mite be out. but sounds to me like you did a great job trouble shooting.
@@matterwin8635 appreciate the response! I will go ahead and order a new pcba most likely. Is there any possibility the motor is shot or something got damaged in that region of the mower? Want to rule out all options. As far as replacing the pcba goes, seems like a pretty good repair. Removing a lot of the mower.
For the price of the mower, I expected more, as in not needing special diagnostic tools. Actually expected a well-running mower for several years. I recommend NOT buying this POS mower.
Hmm guess that depends on what you are talking about. It use the volts from the meter to test giving you the results in a voltage reading. So when I say the voltage should be I am talking about what it will say on the meter. So ya voltage reading
@@matterwin8635 Your meter is reading 0 ohms, not volts. Proper way to test a fuse is to remove at least 1 end from the circuit. How can you have voltage with the battery removed? 1:05
@@matterwin8635 I replaced my fuse. Then my ego lm2100sp started smoking, so I took the cover off so I could see what was going on inside. And I could see flames coming from the motor. The smoke was very thick. Should I keep investigating this or give up?

Printed circuit board assembly. Any of the controllers are called pcba or electric assemblies.

with no power it is likely the main pcba
@@matterwin8635 The main PCBA passed the troubleshooting steps (was in spec) in the video. Could it still be bad?

you can call 1-855-346-5656 and they can locate a service center near you.

Is there a check can be completed to test all 3 relays are working?
in the handle?
What voltage is used to check the SP motor? I see you mention 5V for the blade motor, would it be the same for the SP motor?
yes sir as long as it is a brushed motor you can put 6-9 volts through and it should run.
