Homemade apple cider is delicious. I make it and can it up every year😀. Another wonderful thing to do with apples is to make apple barbecue sauce and can it. Absolutely wonderful!
I made appl butter with the leftover solids. Yum
Once again....THANK YOU! I cant wait to start this tomorrow! Your videos make everything seem so easy! And when I try them, they are easy! Thank you so much! You are such a doll!
My first thought... Ooo nice blouse lol.😀 2nd Ooo home made apple cider!!! Very interesting for sure.👍
I can’t wait to try this tomorrow! Thank you for the inspiration!
when we lived in Canada I had a crabapple tree that made the best apple juice. The clarity was achieved using cream of tartare. All the pulp etc goes to the bottom and the rest became clear as glass with a light amber color.
Such a great recipe and video, soo many helpful tips and tricks! Can’t wait to try this! ❤
Glad I watched because I was going to use both strainers like you, even though the recipe I have says go use just a mesh one.
I really like how you determined the water ratio. That was a great idea. Also I'm with you on the cinnamon sticks. I used too many and I'll dial it down for my next batch. I didn't have any allspice berries, so I found some in my pickling spice. I picked them out..lol this was a great video Carol! I can't wait to see how the boiled cider turns out. Thanks for the shout out! You're the sweetest.
Thank you! You made this so easy. I love it!!!!
Good video! Just wanted to say the difference in color is from the orange. It adds citric acid which helps the apples not to brown. Where fresh pressed has no acid added and they brown quite a bit.
Very helpful, that apple cider looks delicious.
I love your channel so much<3 you are reallly good at teaching! (And helping the clueless like me!) xo
I'm excited to try this! I love the doggos in the background 🐶
Thank you for showing this, was going g to message you about making cider at home then boiling it down.
Great video! My daughter made her own press, I'll get a photo and send it to you, but we are going to do this tomorrow! Will let you know, we have about 200 lbs of apples...whew....
Great video.
Thanks for the great idea, going to do this today. We needed to use up a few buckets of apples from our tree.
I think using different apples might improve the flavor. There are varieties out there specifically for cider such as Red Warrior, Golden Russet, Arkansas Black, etc. Antique varieties like these have a bit more punch to their flavor. Modern varieties have been bred to be super sweet and mild for fresh eating.
I tried the crock-pot method and it took 3 hours on high just to get hot. I cooked it an additional 3 hours then mashed and cooked for two more on low. Came out great. Didn't have to watch a boiling pot.
