Hello. Where did you purchase the trim where the laminate meets the carpet? I admire your professional work and thanks for sharing all your knowledge 👍🏽
How about underlayment? Or a liquid waterproof membrane underneath, so when the water leaks past the joints, it Doesn't damage the plywood? Great content!!!
Liquid waterproofing would be a great idea. This was an existing linoleum that I was going over. If it was a full renovation, a sheet membrane or liquid waterproofing would be the way to go 👍
It would be interesting to do a water test - build a box and use this stuff on the floor and 4 inches up the sides, seal the corners and changes of plane with silicone and then fill it with water and see what happens.
Thank you for your reply about the mint tile. You mentioned the niche tile but not the wall tile on corners/turns. What tile did you use? How did you turn those corners? Thank you for the work you do. I never considered editing time. Anxious to see the tile install. It's beautiful.
@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Thank you again for replying and clarification. I use DalTile too, but that sure sounds expensive. A piece of trim profile (esp. PVC) would cost much less, but I like the tile edge. I cannot find the niche "radius bullnose" or "radius caps" as you mentioned. Suggesions? Still anxious to see the install!!!!
What is that as a substrate? Linoleum perhaps? Can that product be installed over old bathroom flooring like tile? Sorry BRT, too many questions at once. 😜
Yeah, old peel & stick linoleum. It was down pretty good too. But yeah you could definitely float over exiting tile as long as it’s flat (1/8” in 6ft) 👍
I've always wondered if those products are "waterproof" as in the joints will hold water till it evaporates, or if it really means just that the product itself is impervious to water...
Lol I hear ya. I'm always like ok this is easy...oh wow how did they do this? Wait, how did he do THAT? How did he measure it that way? Oh never heard of this tool, guess I need this lil tile puller thing.
@@cr250r9 No. I got hit with a bout of viral labyrinthitis (crazy extreme dizziness) and still (almost a year later) if I exert myself too much or move around too quickly I risk triggering a dizzy spell again. I dunno that I will ever do it myself now.
Calling vinyl flooring luxury has been one of the funniest things that the industry has tried to do since using the word curated when talking about fixtures and it really meaning just mix and match finishes. Pergo used to be a thing and vinyl flooring was always around at different qualities. Calling it luxury but being able to score and snap it is an oxymoron ,I think. Also calling it. Waterproof is funny because sure The material might be waterproof but not the subfloor underneath when it does get water As bathrooms will.
When I get back from the store in my Luxury Kia Forte, and step inside my Luxury section 8 apartment, I'm going over to my Luxury microwave oven to heat up a packet of Luxury ramen melted in a pot of Luxury tap water.
We had this sh*t in a tract house where I grew up in the 1970's. It was embarrassing beyond belief. Thankfully my parents made some money, and we were able to afford a better house with actual ceramic tile. Can't believe some sheister has the nerve to put the word "luxury" next to this crap.
Yes I always put cove or shoe mold down were water may be use Not wood or pvc trim with lexel
Thanks for the video,it's full of great tips , never seen the peel and stick trim before I'ma have to try that ,GOD BLESS
I get it .. I've installed all types of this product and it looks great and works great
I installed that in a bathroom. It looks and feels really nice.

We lay a bunch of this in northern Tennessee, great product , prefer laying lvp to laminate, easier to cut faster to lay
Thanks for the tip on the oscillating blade. I was using a smaller one.
Looks very nice. 👍🏻

That's a great idea
I would be interested to see how this is installed on a second floor with out a laminate or over the top of a previous floor
Does it separate like floating floor
Can this be installed on the living room and bedrooms?
If i put this on a concrete subfloor, do i have to add any layers under it?
LVT- Luxury Vinyl Tile
Great Product

The outside corner was full 6” bull nose pieces. I think it was $600 for 20- 6” bull nose and 14 - radius caps for niches 🤩

How is ti holding up?

@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Thanks a bunch!
Saw this at Lowe's,. I guess the important part would be caulking around the edges.

Great question. If any water gets to the sides pretty sure it’s done. But the surface is pretty hardy. Can’t imagine water penetrating that
Can this be installed on the walls surrounding the shower? Since it’s waterproof?
Pretty sure that’s a no 😆
The more I research ahead of my whole-house DIY flooring reno, the less I feel like I know and the less equipped I feel to make the right decisions.

Did you end up doing it?

It does look nice, but I'm a tile snob 😂

But you just siliconed along the shower, so its not going to expand & contract there at all anymore.
Silicone is considered a flexible joint so yes floor will move 👍
It doesn’t look bad either
odd comment, but wouldn't ya want to really clean the floor a lot more before ya put new stuff over the top of it?
It’s LVP not laminate
Is it? Maybe. It sure feels like a laminate core. I’ve always associated the lvp with the very thin fully vinyl stuff…
