Yay, I got here first.... And I just got done riding my regular MTB, it was a mistake because I was freezing. LoL Edit: I found SUNTOUR XTC 20" suspension fork w/ U brake and V brake mounts on Amazon/eBay for $60... Hope that helps. 😊
Yesss! It has a brake!!!! Have to admit we were a bit sketched when putting this motor on your bike and seeing there were no brakes😂 Check out the manitou 20" suspension fork
That motor looks far from bulky, it's actually really compact and streamlined. Your battery setup though and whatever else you got on is what's bulky, was there a reason you chose 20 inch? I just ordered a 26 inch bmx to do a conversion but I didn't want my knees at my chest. I wanted to be comfy atheist and just hide the battery in a top tube bag and hide controller somewhere just not sure where. If I had bought a mid drive I'd have gotten it in the motor. I got no controller screen just a screen on my throttle that's kinda small.
How has this held up for you? I've been considering doing this as well. (adding air fork to an ebmx) However everyone I speak to is so vehemently against it and insists that the geometry of the bike will be ruined and it will ride like shit. Would love to know if you've stuck with this setup or have ended up also feeling the same as them? Cheers!
HAH. my bmx had enough batery to get 60km of range without pedaling! and enough power to tow a car on flat im currently working on a new one that has 12kw of power, and abt 300nm of torque on the WHEEL :D also REGEN braking too plus freewheeling chainring on the cranks
Nice ! I have a Fit that I converted to a front wheel hub drive about 5 years ago, it's worked great, but lately I've been trying to optimize it a bit more, like raising the bars and pulling them back a little, to be more comfortable like a cruiser since I'm not really doing tricks or hops with this bike. I might switch to mid drive especially if it can save weight, then maybe put the bars back to do some jumps and hops, lol. I also put some suspension forks for a 20 inch mountain bike for smoother ride. It works ok but I now have too much play in the head tube that has a weird affect on the steering, not enough to be a safety issue but enough to be slightly annoying. Any advice? Also I have a 750 watt front hub motor with a 36 volt battery. Going to get a 42 volt but do you think a switch to something like a Bafang 750 or 1000 watt mid drive would be worth it?
I been scratching my head why this simple lightweight design masterpiece has not been copied and made cheaper yet...amean they copy everything else thats good....id like to try putting a $2500 mid drive on a $100 BMX but that steep price tag
That looks proper! This would have deffinatly sent Matty over that box jump. Your videos amaze me in terms of production quality. I can tell your smart and good at diy stuff. Keep it up man.
I’ve been watching your videos with the E-bikes. They look so fun to ride. I’m wanting to get a E-bike just to cruise around in the streets.
Got a Sunday sitting around I kinda wanna do this with 😂 first dude with the E-Sunday would be sick 😂

Hey, Mike. Ever hear of E titanium folding bikes? You should look into Helix bikes. No E version yet. I have the Ultralight Single Speed and its epic!
I'm 64yr old and I gotta build me one. I seen the carbon case motor on a down hill and thought that's mine. Gotta save my penny

Umm Scotty just did this exact same thing in his last video Mike.. Odd you'd put out a video exactly like someone else's.
Lol I do all electric bike stuff on my channel. Nothing new here. Maybe it’s the other way around🙃
