Perfect representation of the advantages of each discipline when it comes to speed. Mtb could not be performing well because of its small chainring. Maybe if it has bigger chain ring and hard tail it could have a chance in 50 meters. BMX apparently the most torque bicycle discipline. Even here in Philippines there are "bmx drag race" but its an unofficial game so it could be done in secret. Even I have a racing BMX even I'm a roadie. I train in my BMX so I could perform well on the road bike. That strategy of track cyclist are so impressive on the 1km distance. Very great video.

Gearing was a limiting factor for both Betsy and Rhian in most cases. Having been able to install the proper gearing for each attempt, I'm sure Rhian would've smashed everyone else in all races.

Not to be sniffed at, definitely not "Just a kids bike" theyre serious kit and a great platform for developing any of the further cycling disciplines like the other 3 shown here, and more ontop.
And then test they're at mtb XC course, at velodrome, and finally at road tour distance 😅😂 I think mtb (XC) it's all rounded, everything you need nothing you can't (offroad ability, tarmac cruiser)

Hey GCN, great content! But please give credit to the creator with the original idea for this video: "Justin Kimman" His video on this same thing was amazing as well.
I think the track rider would have done better in the shorter races by gripping the ramps of the bars instead. In my experience, this is an easier position to stand and crank out watts versus being low on the drops, especially as she was running such a low stack height to begin with.

Another 3 rounds swapping bikes.
Betsy was supreme fitness. That leg pump unreal, gotta say I chuckled at the full seat post by the 1km race. 😂
For me, the most impressive was the BMXer, the least impressive was the MTBer, and the most exciting duel was road vs. track. Great video!
Now it would be interesting to have a Pump Track and stuff with Jump-Like things... (you could also join a CX-Pro on that...) from the setup it was quite clear for me what results to expect, so we need something to favour MTB (and maybe again BMX)...
Gearing was a limiting factor for both Betsy and Rhian in most cases. Having been able to install the proper gearing for each attempt, I'm sure Rhian would've smashed everyone else in all races.
Nope. Age was.
For this type of environment, I think it would be interesting to see everyone on a road bike. Then like another poster stated, everyone on BMX, then everyone on single track, and then everyone on the velodrome.
That was awesome! Now repeat the distances with everyone riding the same type of bike.
Great video - awesome to see these amazing female athletes in action. Would love a similar video in a different context eg on dirt, on the track etc
This was great to watch! I think accumulating the points over the different races was clever, I feel like the results accurately represented the “all-aroundness” of road bikes on the pavement. Also, incredible efforts by all the ladies! It was great to watch all these disciplines collide
Four Amazing athletes.
I was cheering for the Tracky to smoke everybody.
Betting on the Track rider for nr. 1.
I was amazed at the BMX spinner.
Thanks.
Ive heard a lot of people (especially my folding bike user friends) saying smaller wheels mean faster acceleration. This is the first time i see how fast it accelerates compared to larger wheeled bicycles. That short distance burst acceleration is crazy.
My hunch is that it’s gearing here as much as anything. That and fitness. But we need a video to test the hypothesis
If they haven't already done. Would be interesting to see which discipline would translate best to each bike type. Who is stronger. Though I guess it all comes down to Watts.
The results were what I expected but great video
this is for debate about narrow vs wide tire on city/comfort riding.
there you go.
unless you carrying heavy stuff 😅
or your city doesn’t have smooth tarmac 😊
What is the road bike's model?❤
Writing from the viewpoint of a city cyclist .. BMX rider was a surprise on performance. How about they all swap bikes and see the outcome? BTW - who drew those finish lines ??? LOL ? Flag boy? hah hah. ... PS Love that you were able to highlight top cyclists. Maybe bring in local club riders?
how many mineral water did Manon took before she painted the finish lines??!! 🤣🤣
Do a video of Different types of bikers to race on 1st bmx, 2nd mtb, 3rd track and 4th road bikes.
Been telling you at GCN and the folks in the comments, BMX bikes are the Champion-Maker of all disciplines. Not to be sniffed at, definitely not "Just a kids bike" theyre serious kit and a great platform for developing any of the further cycling disciplines like the other 3 shown here, and more ontop.
Justin Kimmann has done similar vid only differnce they started in biggest gears on their respective bikes.
Bro that bmxr’s speed and consistency is off the charts
I remember getting my first bmx as a kid after having only mountain bikes. I couldn't believe how much power and speed I could generate
And then test they're at mtb XC course, at velodrome, and finally at road tour distance 😅😂
I think mtb (XC) it's all rounded, everything you need nothing you can't (offroad ability, tarmac cruiser)
BMX girl was INSANE!!
This track located in Castle Combe, England.❤ See description.
Should have made them all start with a track stand or unclipped like BMX/MTB and at least allow MTB skinny tires. So when do you introduce up and down hills?
Hey GCN, great content!
But please give credit to the creator with the original idea for this video: "Justin Kimman"
His video on this same thing was amazing as well.
Amazing athletes, but I think it would be more interesting to have them all on the same bikes. Like this it just came down to gear ratios basically.
I think the track rider would have done better in the shorter races by gripping the ramps of the bars instead. In my experience, this is an easier position to stand and crank out watts versus being low on the drops, especially as she was running such a low stack height to begin with.
I tend to assume that a national champion likely knows how to get the best out of their equipment....
Is the speed limit for each bike?????
It is unreasonable for a track bike to lose and also a road bike
