It's because they don't care. They have so many that even if a few die they won't notice and they just keep breeding them anyway to make more money to buy more.
Pro tips for rehousing the balfouri, put enclosure in a tub, put the tub in a bigger tub, put that tub in the bathtub, put the bathroom in an airtight vault
You look like a conductor in a symphony of chaos 🤣. It's been so rewarding seeing you grow since all the way back in the days when you were in the couch in your apartment.
I love M. balfouri - they're beautiful af. It's funny to watch a communal re-house because it's like herding cats. Well, I guess it's herding tarantulas sooooooo ... anyway, it's always fun to watch Petko and his spoods. 😍
This was super fun! As someone who is now well on the road to recovering from their arachnaphobia, it’s awesome and inspiring to see how you handle your spideys, and how you show a sensible amount of caution without spiralling into fear. It’s exactly how I’d like to be (although most of the spiders I’m interacting with cannot bite, so it’s really more caution about hurting them!)
Same here! Was always quite phobic of them though respecting them as living beings. Slowly getting better about it. The game “Empires of the Undergrowth” also helped with that, it’s about ants but also features spiders as enemies and there’s an “arachnophobe mode” where all the spiders wear hats so they’re less scary. 😂
Usually when my Balfouri have a successful pairing the female will hold a pose exactly like yours did in that video. And mine especially my older females take more than three months to drop a sack.
@@maxolivia4911 for my communal, they don't necessarily want to bite, they're just very scared and skittish. I have yet to see them show their threat posture
Thank you so much for sharing this with us as always 😊. Letting us see the realness of transferring many Ts…because everything isn’t as easy as tubers make it seem
You mentioned needing to be careful when you use the catch cup… What if you adhere some soft foam in a thick strip, around the opening of the cup? That way it wont hurt if it catches their leggy legs :) Love your vids, P!!
i am sweating just by watching this, but somehow its fascinating to me, how you can be so calm when handling those animals, even if they run around like crazy, you keep cool, i would freak out if its runs behind some furniture
And this is why I plan on getting a big enough enclosure to put the one they are currently in inside it 😂 I love them and think they are so beautiful but I'm definitely intimidated with the thought of rehousing them.
I was getting anxiety and rehouse-flashbacks throughout the entire video... had 3 balfouris for a while and one of them bolted away. Had to look for it for almost 2h... 😅
Beautiful new enclosure. Only one issue I see…you set up the same, exact setup, in terms of the branching, as you did before; as in a forked larger branch providing a hiding place once they web up the entire enclosure.so, the chances are, once they complete their webbing, you’ll be in the same situation - beautiful Balfourie’s that you cannot ever see because they hide within. But, beautiful nonetheless, Hun! ❤
I've had arachnophobia for two decades now, yet I'm fascinated with spiders and I'd love to set up and manage a tarantula communal successfully! I've had my eyes on the M. balfouri for a long time now, as I heard they are one of the best for communals, though I'm not sure if I could keep up with their jittery movements! Likely a single tarantula would be a better start for me, like a Brazilian Black. Also, I'm so thankful for your and the videos of other creators. When you started pulling out all the molts I realised how immensely helpful it is to know they leave their molts behind like that - otherwise I would have freaked out for sure, thinking they were corpses and not discarded husks! The first catch had me on the edge of my seat, I'm excited to see how transporting the rest will go!
Hi Petro! You can try to do a cover of the end of catchcup with a sponge so you can go fast with your catching and not be afraid to squeze the tharantula, also you can do it removable so it will be more handy! :D Just thinking out loud 😅
My question is the escape injuries! Have you ever accidentally got bit or the urticating hairs made you itchy? I'm pretty new here and wonder how you self care if your nurturing with all your cool pets? What in the Dark Den makes you jumps the most and which are you happy to see when you go in?

Such a fun video!! Although I always get so anxious when you have to dash off to grab a tool or an escapee, leaving the enclosures open, hoping no others make a run for it!! 😰😂 Going to be getting my first communal setup soon.. And she accepted it right away...she Web a bit but not that thic.. When i feed her, i ditch the roach that it wiggles but doesn't move and wait for her to appear. After a lot of waiting she grab the roach when no one is watching🤣🤣 sneaky girl! -love her tho💖
Too bad you had to pull apart all those webbings to get the little buggers out. That would have been one awesome Halloween decoration to put on your front door to keep the kids at bay... lol =]
I have an idea for you. What if you line the bottom of your catch cup with electrical tape and then roll it over? Would be like a little bumper to protect spider feet. I'm always so worried about hurting them with a sharp plastic edge, so I normally use a tennis ball tube that has a rolled over lip as my catch cup.
You should leave them in an Extra-Dark area for a Month to promote them webbing more... That 360 enclosure always had to much light for them to fully spread out
Balfouri madness! That was really fun to watch. Glad you didn't get bit in the process and I'm looking forward to the time lapse and more sexy time. Fingers crossed you get an eggsack.

Hey Petko another great video, I keep 100s of Balfouri the temp enclosure you transferred yours into is plenty big enough for 20 adults they love being snuggled up together, The reason you have so many roaches still in there is also due the enclosure being to big for Balfouri to find, In my experience they are more active with some humidity around 70% mark , The new enclosure you have started is a bit big for how many you have as that’s more suitable for 100-150 adult Balfouri, Hope this info is of some help? Please keep all these great videos coming 👍BT Show less
Buddy of mine actually got rid of them because they are so fast. He takes photos of all spiders and snakes he has and these are one of the more difficult species to handle. He actually rehoused them first and while removing the soil days later he got bitten by one that burrowed and hid :D He said it was a terrible experience.
