Your setup petko is the best and most professional I’ve seen from a private animal keeper, extremely impressive and I love your work ethic and love for the animals!
I get memories for back then when dark den was only a section of your house/department and you make the videos sit on the grey sofa and you show us some of the animals updates. What a great evolution. I have a drop back whit my carnivorous plants but I’m planing to get back and this time, build a greenhouse so I can give them the best care posible as well to update videos. Greetings from Mexico man :)
I remember this as well. This among some other video's i've seen today are the first ones i've seen in quite a long time. It probably has been 2-3 years if not longer since i last seen any of his vids. I'm quite the arachnophobic person, but i've taken quite an interest in them. Been thinking of starting my own collection with jumping spiders, which hopefully lead to tarantula's.
Wow I just realized how large your collection has become what a big difference from the first Dark Den it is absolutely amazing! I love seeing the metamorphosis of your life from the first video until this one as a married family man with a beautiful personal collection!!!!
As a person with severe ADHD this video makes it crystal clear that I would be the absolute wrong person to maintain an animal room like this. To my ADHD brain the way you keep organized with so many details and so much to think of and check off is MAGIC. Absolutely fascinating to see!
Man in remember you sitting on Ure Couch with just a few Tarantulas, now look at u, 2 full rooms of Animals and a strict routine to feed. Hope u still enjoy it and its not getting too much like a job and still is an hobby.
Who does all this when you're on a trip? Looks like you're very efficient in getting it all done, but it looks to be a lot! Thanks for showing us what it takes to keep Dark Den happy!
This is so awesome petko. Your system is basically exactly how it is at every zoo/ aquarium animal collection I’ve worked in. Also love the GoPro camera system you did in this video. I usually get motion sickness and this didn’t make me dizzy!! Ha This is my favorite UA-cam channel. Been here since I the days of tearing the couch apart to find bolty slings. 😊
I saw a youtube or two use a trick that I myself now use, I cut a plastic water bottle in half, except for a tab that can fold back and hold onto tank edge, then poke lots of holes in the bottom of the bottle. Then I hang it on tank edge and pour water in, and it doesn't make big splashes. Really helped me!
I'd honestly go crazy. Seriously, I would NEVER have the willpower to care for all these amazing animals. It's mental how much you care and do for all of them, especially the quality of the way you keep them. It's all just perfect. It looks like a fulltime job you have there, and I guess it's pretty much your fulltime job? The big difference is that it's all on you. You're a crazy man, and I love it. Keep it up, keep the motivation, I'm sure some days you just feel lost and empty, but you have an amazing hobby & an amazing talent for keeping all of this alive & happy. Just one question - What's your energy bill at the end of the month? I feel like it hurts.
Love your content as alway the dark den family has grown so so much I’ve enjoyed watching all your content since baryons 35 k subscribers if I’m not mistaking congratulations and can’t wait for you to hit your next mile stone sharing your vids as always 😬 take care and enjoy your scuttle babies
Individually those types of animals like small reptiles and invertebrates don’t need much care, but collectively it seems that it takes a lot of organizing power and attention to detail for then. Your collection has become amazing. I had put this video in the to watch list for quite a long time, but finally I watched it.
Boy, I need a nap after all that work! It's true people have no idea how much time and effort is put into proper care and husbandry. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for hurting your head with the gopro for us, this was awesome to see a day in the life video. I've always wanted to see how you do it. Awesome video, thanks again xx
I am amazed by all your animals and the work that goes with it! Youre such a great keeper! On another note, ive been watching your videos for a long time and i can now proudly say i got my first three tarantulas! Two versicolor slings and a tiny little d.pentaloris. All because of you! Love what youre doing!
I just wanna say because of your channel I fell in love with the chilobrachys fimbriatus and it arrives later this week so excitedthank you for all your great work petko
Thor looks like he’s doing well :). Will mini Despacito be getting any hides? I don’t know much about beardies 🙈 but I figured they’d need a place to hide from the Uv? Lol. Cool video though, the dark den looks amazing.
Petko starts to feed trey of pokies...sounds of NuMark fills air... "We got work to do... Charlie 2-N-A...". SO LEGIT PETKO! Your sauce is teh awesomeness.
Man, I see all sorts of animals and even clint's what would be a good pet series. Even though they are all awesome and I would want all the animals, reality says I could not do what you do with that much dedication and organization lol. I'd rather watch from here.
Hey bro, might wanna get a cover for that printer, there are microplastics coming off the heated tip as it extrudes, just to keep your animals even more safe and also the temperature control due tot the cover will give you much better prints :D
Yes,your setup is awesome, looks very professional and cool 😁 my Mrs is Croatian,so she spotted your accent a mile off lol and likes the cridders you have in the Dark Den 😀
Man I love your enclosures with water in, hopefully one day you do like a super huge water/jungle mixture and then have all different things in from spiders, bugs, frogs, etc lol. (not sure how it'd work and obviously stuff will die so would need replacing i guess when it happens) but it'd be a sight to see.
Will you ever go into the specific of misting? I know you've covered the basics a long time ago but I'd like to know the specifics for different species
What kind of spider is above the histocrates gigas enclosure? I love the webs they make. I would like to plan ahead for a species that makes webs like that for my own spider.
Great video, a few questions: 1. How long did all this take you? it's a 30-minute video, but how long does it actually take? 2. Can you ever take time off? Is there anyone out there that can take over for a few days in case you want to go on vacation? 3. What does the dark den smell like? having roaches in open containers, not a lot of ventilation, how do you deal with smell? Thanks!
Usually day is around one hour, but this one was also smallest feeding day, so it was around 2 hours. I have a friend that can jump in an also my brother can do the basic stuff, but I was never away for more than a week. It's actually alright, when it's warm, I have the outside door open, and the inside dore are open all the time, plus I have a recuperating ventilation, but sometimes there is a distinct earthy/moisty smell, nothing interesting or bad
I love when you say TODAY ITS EASY i only need to feed the small ones. Proceed to show us like 100 tarantula enclousers xd ONLY and some scorpions too ofcourse
After the 4x4, now the maintenance and regular day. My interview inspired you... maybe ? :P Anyway as always great content my man. One day you'll get your trip to uncharted land in the amazon forest. I believe in you ! :D
Water change with RO water? I thought ro water is used for evaporation top up in marine. Dosent ro removes minerals from water that is needed for growth??
I've just started watching your videos. Wondering is there someone who could temporarily fill in if something were to happen and you were unable to feed?
Hi petko . Where do u get your id tags or witch app u print them from . We have about 40 spiders and growing and i am looking for a good labelmaker . Thx from a Belgium fan . Benny
Your setup petko is the best and most professional I’ve seen from a private animal keeper, extremely impressive and I love your work ethic and love for the animals!
awww thx
except, he’s kind of a ‘public animal keeper’ on youtube… 😂
everything you said is still valid though!
@@mylifeisasong09 It's still private as its not open to direct public?
Thanks for not only having and maintaining your animal room, but sharing it with the world! 🇺🇸
I love how you reuse the aquarium water for the plants. BEAUTIFUL set up.
I get memories for back then when dark den was only a section of your house/department and you make the videos sit on the grey sofa and you show us some of the animals updates.
What a great evolution. I have a drop back whit my carnivorous plants but I’m planing to get back and this time, build a greenhouse so I can give them the best care posible as well to update videos.

really liked this video. i would like to see these "just a normal day" type of videos from time to time :D
love it,you will be looking through my forehead, another great video petko as always 💜💙🇬🇧
glad Felix is ok
Who does all this when you're on a trip? Looks like you're very efficient in getting it all done, but it looks to be a lot!
Thanks for showing us what it takes to keep Dark Den happy!
I have never been away longer than a week, but when I'm away , my brother or a friend does the most necessary stuff
I'm glad you have back up when needed!
You own a full on zoo! What an amazing collection. The other amazing thing is how well taken care of they all are.
This is so awesome petko. Your system is basically exactly how it is at every zoo/ aquarium animal collection I’ve worked in. Also love the GoPro camera system you did in this video. I usually get motion sickness and this didn’t make me dizzy!! Ha

Great job! Can't wait to see the giant enclosure ready!

Great audio book of Dune to listen to while you work. Loved watching you do your feeding and watering.
I admire your dedication to caring for your animals so much! Thank you for sharing, I always learn new things watching your videos!
Definitely enjoyed this video. From the setup you use, how you schedule everything, still providing facts on the animals…everything was awesome! 😁

Your setup looks so nice! Thanks for showing us a day in the life of the Dark Den.

The white board. Is genius. I have like 4 animals and a couple bug colonies but it'd still be useful. Fun vid!
Boy, I need a nap after all that work! It's true people have no idea how much time and effort is put into proper care and husbandry. Thanks for sharing.
Dark den makes it so easy to feed all of these😂😂
I love the way the Dark Den is set up!
Thank you for hurting your head with the gopro for us, this was awesome to see a day in the life video. I've always wanted to see how you do it. Awesome video, thanks again xx

Never knew it was this much into keep the dark den goin, it’s your passion so I guess you don’t mind as much but thank you from our point of view
Your setup was so much work and is so beautiful. Really enjoyed the tour. It's like we were there.
I just wanna say because of your channel I fell in love with the chilobrachys fimbriatus and it arrives later this week so excitedthank you for all your great work petko
This is why I watch your channel. It's easier watching you take care of a million animals! ☺️
Thor looks like he’s doing well :). Will mini Despacito be getting any hides? I don’t know much about beardies 🙈 but I figured they’d need a place to hide from the Uv? Lol. Cool video though, the dark den looks amazing.
yea this enclosure needs some changes, its kinda small and there is not really much in it.
I agree
Was thinking the same thing
I absolutely love this type of film set up gives a great pov of how the dark den operates
I’m sitting here in Zanzibar now on vacation. But watching Dark Den! 💪🏻
you did a great job with the POV footage, no complaints
You are very organized Petko. This was great to see what your daily or weekly tasks. Great job
Fascinating video and such a system. You r the BEST!
Petko starts to feed trey of pokies...sounds of NuMark fills air... "We got work to do... Charlie 2-N-A...". SO LEGIT PETKO! Your sauce is teh awesomeness.

I love this video! Would love to see you post more of these in the future. You’re such a good dad! ❤️
Despacito Looks so good from last years troubles . Glad to see him well!
Loved this! Awesome to see what goes into keeping such a great collection of animals.
This is an awesome window into the dark den! Thank you for the content!
That was cool. Have you thought about doing a video about the equipment and supplies that you use?
With your skills, you can easily make that tank a automatic water change system.and those plants needs a major trimmings.
use the fish water change water to mist the tanks, free plant fertiliser
Jesus... This ist just so much chore... Amazing how you keep up with it, id be burnt out after a week :D
The table with wheels has become super helpful with you house keeping in the dark den petko 👍
I don't even keep reptiles or inverts (yet), but this was fascinating. Thanks for sharing your amazing setup.
Spectacular! This is literally a tarantula museum!

Very interesting. Makes me think that this is a life I think I’d enjoy living
Great Den! You are the number one!!!

Hey Petko, greetings from Germany! I've got a male Peucetia lucasi that matured recently if you want it for your female. :)
send me a message on IG or on email from the description :D
Man I remember when you had like 4k subscribers. DAMN you have come far man, good on you!
New video setup best! Thank you so much P!
Cuttle fish = cut-ul fish. Your use of the English is better than many people I've met. I love your videos.
Awesome vid bro! I have 10 tarantulas now and sometimes I feel overwhelmed 😂
Its looking good that video. You have many tarantulas.
I was waiting for this video. Was curious how you do things 😁 How long do you typically spend in the Dark Den?
impressive set up, looks better than most exotic pet shops
Great video! As always!
Even though life gets so busy I love being able to wind down with dark den 🕸
So much fun watching your videos!
Will you ever go into the specific of misting? I know you've covered the basics a long time ago but I'd like to know the specifics for different species
What kind of spider is above the histocrates gigas enclosure? I love the webs they make. I would like to plan ahead for a species that makes webs like that for my own spider.
And again watching petko grabbing bare handed inside the theraphosa enclosure 🤣
I'm glad to see despacito feeling better.
Was hoping for a video like this!
Great video, a few questions:
1. How long did all this take you? it's a 30-minute video, but how long does it actually take?
2. Can you ever take time off? Is there anyone out there that can take over for a few days in case you want to go on vacation?

YES!! Waited for this! This room is SSIIICKK
the way your histocrates gigas grabbed the roach and when back underground looked so cool omg
Have you decided what sort of Betta you're getting? Can't wait to see it!
Love your entire setup!
Great video! Kuddos for listening to Dune! 👍
Love the setup, but when are you gonna let us buy those stl files? We've wanted them for years!
I love when you say TODAY ITS EASY i only need to feed the small ones. Proceed to show us like 100 tarantula enclousers xd ONLY and some scorpions too ofcourse
Do you have Macropanesthia Rhinoceros? It would be interesting to see to how to get a succesfull colony going.
After the 4x4, now the maintenance and regular day. My interview inspired you... maybe ? :P
Anyway as always great content my man. One day you'll get your trip to uncharted land in the amazon forest. I believe in you ! :D
dude what's the small purple plant? and awesome content btw, love it! saludos desde Costa Rica :)
awesome video man
Water change with RO water? I thought ro water is used for evaporation top up in marine. Dosent ro removes minerals from water that is needed for growth??
Will you get a caiman lizard for the paludarium? It was always a dream of mine.
Or a cheeper option, get a deserting Russian Soldier fleeing Ukraine
Wow that is a lot of work. That is why I watch the Dark Den instead of keeping my own animal collection.
Whew. That’s a lot of work. Who takes over when you come to the states?
Great vid !
Very interesting! Thx! And yes, time lapse on a first person view is a bad idea ;)
I've just started watching your videos. Wondering is there someone who could temporarily fill in if something were to happen and you were unable to feed?
Awesome Video!
Nice set up!
I really like this! Can you do the other 3 days, if youre up to it
Hi petko .
Where do u get your id tags or witch app u print them from .
We have about 40 spiders and growing and i am looking for a good labelmaker .
Thx from a Belgium fan .
