I had a group of 5 monocentropus balfouri. After 3 years, I gave 4 away, because it was 4 males. 1 female left. And 3 weeks ago I saw, that she create a cocon. Thats my first time, after 20 years of having spiders, that I run into a new expirience and I very happy of this. I hope I will have a success and healthy spiderlinge.
Hey Petko, I have quite a few balfouris and I have had two succesful eggsacks so far. From the research I did, I learned that it is strongly advised to leave the babies with their mom for at least 6 months, because she will feed them and they will have a significantly lower chance of survival if you separate them from their mom. However, I have also separated the babies from one mom as she did not take care of them and added them to the other mom with babies, and she took care of all of them. Also, when they were bigger, I added the slings to my balfouri communal setup and there, the bigger balfouris shared their food with the slings. So, my recommendation: Don't leave the babies on their own, have some older balfouris help them!
You realize “taking care” of them is leaving scraps of dead food… pretty sure he can do that just as well. Every Balfour sling I’ve raised was the size he pulled and survived ALONE, so it’s gonna be fine
Sweet! Check further info, as from what I know mother will share her meal with her babies feeding them, and they grow better left with mother, which is quite unique for T's.
Hey Petko, for slings I would recommend a pooter, the little suction devices used to catch insects. I tend to have a bit of tissue at the bottom just to protect them and then just suck them all up.
Congratulations, Petko. Although there nothing better than watching them grow up with their mother and witness her feeding them. I can understand your reason to remove them though if you think they can escape from the vents. But excellent result 😁
I'm assuming you're using one? And it's not too aggressive on the delicate slings? Just asking because I've never thought of that but that is a great idea and I'll def have to get one
@@jacks559 entomologists use them in the field to collect delicate, winged and otherwise too small to mechanically handle specimens. They have such low mass to size ratio that it’s very hard to damage them without direct force. Yes I’ve used them to collect ants and fruit flies before. Quite easy to make from simple items.
Great video! Love watching you love the hobby. A small bit of advice for the unhatched eggs. If you have eggs that look good but are unhatched put them in a seperate enclosure for a week or two. They just might take longer to hatch. Part of a survival strategy. Thanks again.
BA BA BA BA BALFOURI BABIES ARE SO CUTE!! It's so interesting how they are not all at the same stages but came from the same egg sack. Thanks for the update Petko how many spiders total is this now in the DD? LOL a lot!!
This was a brilliant video and I always get excited when I see you’ve uploaded a brand new one, baby Ts are just the cutest thing ever but I think my big female stirmi is cute 😂😂
Video idea: How strong is tarantula web? I dont know if it will fit on this Channel but i would like to see an experiment when you will collect a lot of tarantula web and form it into a thick string and see how strong it actually is! Scientists say that spider web is stronger than stainless Steel wich is impressive. You could Put some of these balfouris as workers inside an enclosure with solid strong anchor points So you will be able to easily collect all the web out. I think nobody has done that yet.
I was just wondering, if you consider how good Balfouri are at being communal why is it necessary to separate the slings from the mother at all until much later, say when you're planning on breeding them again.
This would be the best time to Redo the 360 enclosure.... Balfouri web the Most when they are still small... This would be epic if you could set it up properly
Hi Petko, i love how much you love them and how excited you are. Thats what keeps me coming back every video. I was wondering if the different stages of the slings/babies is an overall indicator of their health?. Or are they like humans even those of the same age can be vastly different. Thanks.
@@TheRapidLV Thank you so much for your reply. I've always been terrified of spiders but this channel has got me obsessed with them. Glad to hear that the smaller ones will most likely catch up to their siblings with some more food 😁.
Hello, are you sure that you can already add another, younger communal area to the existing communal area? as far as I know, there is a theory confirmed by several breeders that the original commune will not accept the new one... it would be a shame to lose new blood...
I love the babies and the mature male is stunning big things will happen for him, let’s try very hard not to get eaten he is about to have so many ladies, cigars at the ready!
Petko Have you ever been bitten by any of your tarantulas or other animals? Have you ever lost (ie have any gotten out of their enclosures) a tarantula or other animals/creatures and never found them?
maybe a good way to put hatched babies out will be take out the mommy and after a while leave something hard prekilled to eat, maybe they will take it and then good way to get them all . i will try xD
I was with a girl bacl in the days and after seat time she stayed lile that for about 5 or ten minutes so its pretty typical don be afraid . she will settle down and her legs will come back to normal lol
Congratulations to the father, who did the deed and survived! 🎉 🎉 🕷💙🕷
Its quite common for the balfouri
That balfouri male is beautiful, the colors, oohwee.

Who immediately knew the sling count would be wrong? Lol! It's impossible to keep track when you're trying to catch them! Great job, Petko!

Love The Babies so darn cute my jumping spider laid eggs and they hatch now she lay another egg sac so more jumping spiders ..

You look and talk a little bit like a mix of Borat and Mr. Bean 😅😁 Very nice!🥸
Didn't realise newly moulted adult male balfouris were so attractive, wow!
Congratulations, Petko. Although there nothing better than watching them grow up with their mother and witness her feeding them. I can understand your reason to remove them though if you think they can escape from the vents. But excellent result 😁
You should invest in a suction collector for slings, it will make grabbing them so much easier

I bought a sling online and it came way smaller than I thought. How do I feed a 1 time molt Pterinopelma Sazimai?
congrats on the slings...... Balfouri are so beautiful

Thanks for the update!!
Congratulations on the new babies 😊absolutely amazing as usual
Babies are so many and so cute ! Love it !
Love balfouris, babies are adorable ❤❤❤😊
i think that when the females stay in that 'trance' it means a successful pairing... ovbiously in the case here! congrats!!
love seeing the balfouri communal grow 💙
Nicely done, Petko! Congrats!🕷🕸😊
Curious how they all clumped together in a corner of the new enclosure. Perhaps they need a bit of the webbing for them to feel more comfortable?
can we have an update video on the fishtank/shrimp

Congrats! Love your channel and thank you for all the helpful tips you’ve given for years!
That blue was awesome
The babies are always SO CUTE
Man i havent watched your videos nearly a year now.. Good to see you are still active. Lots of catch up to do here.
Congrats on the new babies petko

Balfouri babies are always nice! And goddamn they are cute when they're small 😍
Awesome man, the female is gorgeous
Congrats on the babies!!! Maybe next time she will give us a bigger bunch of babies. It is a good start though. 👶🕷❤
Congratulations 🎉
Awesome Video dark den
Yay, babies! Congratulations 🎉
I can't imagine how delicate you had to be to get those babies out of there!
Great vid Petko...
Great job with this task! Im so impatient, i would've just shaken the whole enclosure over a bucket, then dumped the slings into the new enclosure 😂
Great video with the babies.
If the ventilation holes in the big communal enclosure are too big for babies you are going to have a problem down the road
M.balfouri spiderlings go through two nymph stages hence your confusion.

Congratulations 👍
When is the next junglelarium update?
How do I go about ordering enclosure parts? I live in the u.s.
Yay, baby tarantulas.
As you were counting i remembered Eight the turtle , how is he , how long has it been since the last update ?
Like always love the videos. You are a really nice person.

Hi! You see, as theyre living together, not all of them get the same amount of food, more food = faster molt... Welll as much as I knw..

Yo when's the next full tour of the den

They're so friggin cute *-*

Can I recomend an insect aspirator for the little ones?
That sexytime beat my record! Congratulations!

I have also egg sac but i worry a bit is mabalf are nototrious on eating egg sac??
Nice Communal Petcko!
Someone needs to invent a magical, super-delicate pipette that can gently suck the babies into a pipe for movement.
Do they also produce egg sacs in the communal?
YAY! NEW VIDEO!
You should get some exotic ants, like bull ants
Great video
I had a few jokes for the start of the video of him explaining what happened during the pairing.
Approximately how many times does a tarantula molt to get to a mature male or female?
man I love spiders but I couldnt do what you do sticking your bare fingers in there lol
awesome video!
That was fun
❤❤❤
I was with a girl bacl in the days and after seat time she stayed lile that for about 5 or ten minutes so its pretty typical don be afraid . she will settle down and her legs will come back to normal lol
Imagine if that's how quick humans can get pregnant. That's a world record there.
How come you didn't take the sac out when you first noticed it?
You have to leave balfouri slings with their mom because she will care for them and feed them. If you take them out too early they will die.
@@UntoteLady but won't any tarantula mum look after her babbies?
@@benives254 Not really, balfouris are special in that way :)
@@UntoteLady my mum sez I'm speshall.
Who else thought the pic of the video was a ultrasound at first lol
How are you hear watching this good work hello just kidding I'm waiting for you to find it and do this
Anyone ride think the thumbnail was a really messed up x-ray?
what a shame I didn't see this video before May 25th
